Skillshare Online Classes

Skillshare has a lot of great courses, made by great people, but those classes are sometimes removed (by skillshare, not the teachers) without warning nor explanation, and contacting the support left me just as clueless on the matter. A quick search on Google shows that it's not an unusual thing on SS though, so I'll just advise people to go to udemy (or any other online learning place really) where this kind of stuff doesn't happen, and where you can actually use what you're paying for.

The app is ok, and I will surely recommend it, but I wish they can make it possible to bookmark and select videos to download for offline viewing instead of having to download a whole lesson. They should also work to fix the issue that causes offline videos to stop playing after an app update.

I used to really love this app, it was a great, cheap alternative to college (want to be an animator/illustrator and lots of people said this was just as good) however now all the classes that I want to take (and some I was in thr middle of) are premium classes that I no longer have access to. This is ridiculous, as well as they want you to pay for the full year up front. The original payment plan was just fine, why you guys changed it is beyond me. Very upset and disappointed in your app.

I am thoroughly enjoying this app. The whole monthly or yearly subscription concept works very well. It gives me the flexibility to do just whatever I want whenever I want. I've completed several courses and have found some excellent instructors. My only issue is with the inability to use to app to upload class projects. Skillshare in browser is the only way to upload projects and view class resources.

I am currently on a trial of 3 months and I just fell in love with Skillshare. After the trial ends, I will directly buy yearly membership, as it is so much affordable. You will find each and every creative class. They are constantly updated & new classes keep adding up. The app is Lightweight & extremely easy to use. You can also download videos for offline viewing. Also has lots of qualities so that even watchable with less data. 1 feature missing is the Dark Mode, everything else is perfect.

I enjoy the classes but the app is a bit annoying. Sometimes lessons won't play until I force closd anc restart the app. Screen rotation is unpredictable. Downloads don't warn if K run out of space, they just quit playing already downloaded courses. No way to selectively delete individual lessons without removing the entire course. Still, I am finding lots of useful classes in my area of interest and feel the subscription is a great value.

The courses are good. But I think it would be beneficial to add that notification media control features. That way we don't have to open the app to fast forward or pause. Also, it would be good if you made it compatible with Android Wear. It's easy to look at the watch and just click pause. Other than that, the courses are good, but you're missing out on a pretty awesome opportunity here.

Great classes but I was charged twice for a one year account. When I contacted them the resolution was to cancel my account but not to refund any of the money. I just wanted to be refunded one of the yearly subscription charges, who wants to get double charged? The classes are wonderful, but with customer service like I have been shown i am not sure the classes are worth the risk to be overcharged for and then canceled while still deducting a monthly fee for the past 3 months.

I used to love skillshare. However with their new yearly pricing model I am afraid I have to abandon them as a service. It would be nice to be in control of how I pay. Furthermore their subtitles and how well the app responds, quite slowly, has become frustrating. It's too bad.

It's cheap...very useful for beginners and Intermediates. Some really good classes. Love the app. Though u might need to enroll in professional courses if u want to make it a career. But it'll surely give ur passion a boost of skill.

This is why I wish I could rate 4.5 stars. Some functionality is a problem, but the number, focus, and level of classes is high, especially for a graphics designer that does yoga and is learning LINUX, like me. Try it, You`ll like it.

I have taken a subscription to learn animation, VFX and VR. The amount of data in this app is mind boggling. Would highly recommend everyone to download if they want to upgrade or learn new skills

Please provide options for rearranging classes in Lists. Another thing I find lacking in this app is Hierarchy in courses. Because I see some of the course here are also available in Udemy with proper hierarchies of chapters. It's rather strange, that a popular app like Skill Share overlooked these UX/UI elements.

I used to love Skillshare. They had great creative classes and great instructors who are working in their industry. Unfortunately, their pricing structure has changed and requires an annual membership. I would love to be a loyal monthly customer or if they base their subscription on a 1, 3, or 6 month period. There are just long periods where I get super busy and can't take classes. I think as a business they are leaving a lot of potential customers out of the table.

Love this service and app. Just wish I was able to add classes to specific lists, and make new lists, in the app rather than having to go to the website to do it. I dont like the way they hide where your money is being donated unless you do some digging. I also am really unhappy that the monthly subscription no longer seems to be an option. I also think there is a distinct lack of vocational based classes. Not being able to download the supporting docs on mobile is a big oversight.

Skill share have a lot of courses but needs improvement. There should be an option to download one video offline rather than the whole video at a time. An option of not to autoplay video to the next. The UX designers should come up with the end users opinion.

I love Skillshare! The classes are all so easy to follow and they offer a variety of interesting creative topics that pique my interest. It's so inspiring getting to glimpse other creatives' and artists' methods and practices, while learning in the process. It's become a new form of relaxation for me to watch skillshare vids, which I think may be beneficial in the longrun for me as I slowly learn about creative careers.

So many great content to choose from. Bite-sized videos along with resources can help you learn many things casually or professionally. User interface is great, easy to understand and navigate.

Skillshare is very handy when it comes to learning new skill or master your old skill. Just 1 thing to upgrade is there is no jump forward option in video playback. Hope this would get fixed too.

Worth every penny. Honestly as a student I find it extremely helpful to find tutorials on certain art related projects and hobbies that I enjoy, would definitely recommend it to other potential customers

It's an amazing app, you can learn anything in it and it has amazing courses. The only problem for me is that the video sometimes stops for no reason and it gets laggy. But overall it's really good

I hope Skillshare read this because I dearly love its classes but the app, particularly on android, is sh.ithouse. Watching classes has been flawless. They run beautifully and playback speeds are helpful. The major issue is THE APP DOESN'T GIVE US AN OPTION TO REVIEW A CLASS OR UPLOAD A PROJECT on android. You are seriously letting both the teachers and students down by this. Also, the app on both apple and android won't let us save classes to lists. Surely, thats not a difficult fix?

Higly reccommend NOT getting this subscription. Most of the lessons are super old and outdated and the "teachers" really aren't any kind of expert in their field. Complete waste of my money. They make you pay for a whole year in advance.

Skillshare only offers a yearly subscription and the price point is just too high for me. Skillshare is completely ignoring an entire group of potential customers by going to a yearly payment plan. I would gladly pay per month as needed but I go long periods without using the service so paying an entire year up front is just out of the question. I wish these companies actually cared about their customers but they only care about money.

Awful! I've been trying to cancel the subscription for months since I NEVER, NEVER used it. Not only are the instructions to cancel vague and helpful but they do not refund your money. IT IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST!!!!

Since the last app update I can't watch my downloaded classes unless I'm on WIFI or cellular service. I still can't view downloaded videos when not connected to WiFi or cell service. 😕
