Skip Ads

Does what it says on the tin. I'm Interested how it knows when an add is playing even when the app is "closed" (as in not being run according to android's task viewing screen). Feels like that's something that should be checked just because of safety concerns. However so far, the app works perfectly and even lets you know how long you've watched youtube and automatically pause a video after a set time, should you need it. Would recommend.

It just works. Perfect skipping every time even with screen overlays, frame-in-frame windows, and laggy connections. I can't even tell if this has ads since I don't notice any more than usual. Overall great app. If it wasn't for YouTube asking"are you still there" my playlist would go on forever.

This has been an extremely useful app for me that I've kept around for some time. Skips YouTube adds automatically, no longer do I have to take my phone out of my pocket or wake up to a 3 hour YouTube add. Is completely un-intrusive, runs in the background. You only have to open the app once and never touch it again, it will forever skip video adds.

It's actually easy to use but not clearly explained. Once you figure it out though it works well. It's one of those apps that are TOO simple which somehow makes it harder to figure out. If the author just added a little more to the explanation it would be so much easier to figure it out. In any case, it is great! It watches the ads and when the 5 secs are up, it pushes the skip add button and presto your stream goes on. I wish there were a bypass button so you COULD watch those RARE ads.

To clarify to anyone that might be reading reviews, this app does not block ads altogether. If you're on YouTube, and you get on of those ads that have the "skip ad" button, this app will press that button for you. If the ad does not have that button, there's nothing that this app can do. But if you're like me and you don't really mind that, this app works perfectly fine. One problem is that you might have to keep the app open in the background, but on my device (Google Pixel 3) you don't.

Works fine but when opening the app it asks you to enable it in your accesablity settings here is where it gets sketchy. I'm not sure if all phones will do this but when I try to enable it my phone gives me a warning that says: "Skip Ads can collect all of the text you type excluding passwords. This includes personal data such as credit card numbers. It can also collect data about your interactions with the phone." so what's up with that nonsense hm? Agooday can you explain please?

This detects ads and will put a 6 second timer to skip the ad. The free version just presses the skip button and the pro version mutes and skips the ad. I wish it was able to work better on the 12 second ads, but it was worth the upgrade to pro. Also due to people looking for a true ad block, there currently isn't a version on the YouTube app (rooted or not) that works. You would either have to watch on your computer (defeats the purpose on mobile) or on browser of the phone.

Does exactly what it says it does. It does not completely eliminate ads, it just makes every add 1. 2. 3. Option : Skip. Lock that down on recent used apps and it won't quit. Would like more detail though, like an option to change from military to regular time. Thanks!

While it's always good to be able to skip ads. This app can't tell if your settings already allow for it. So whenever you open it, it disables itself until you "enable" it in settings by removing its permissions, closing the app, opening it, and then re-enabling them. I have to do this every time I open this darn app. FIX THIS

Maybe I'm doing something wrong. A few ads played, some cut short after 5 seconds, others played all the way through. (Could be the settings, not sure yet), but for now, 2 stars.

4/5 star because it only works on ads with "skip ad(s)" button. Does not work properly on 7-15 second ads that do not have "skip ad(s)" button (eg. "Your video will begin after this ad". In this case, the audio is muted for the ad, but is not unmuted after. Currently using a OnePlus 7 Pro with the lastest OS and YouTube app as of this writing. Hope this can be fixed by the developer. Otherwise app works very well! Thank you!

The only downside is that after every session I have with YouTube, this stops working and tell me to turn on the thing again even tho it is on. Don't help to turn it off and on again. It only help to deinstall and install again.

Very useful on work automatically skipping ads. Doesn't work every time. But, it does work majority of the time. No battery drain issues, no intrusive ads nor pop ups.

Great app that does exactly the thing I was looking for! It feels so awesome hearing an ad cut mid someone's sentence without me looking at the phone The only things that keep it from a 5 star rating IMO are 1. sometimes it won't skip ads when I'm on full screen, and 2. it won't skip survey ads.

The app works and is very easy to setup i don't have any complaints at the time! It does what it says and the time in YouTube and numbe of ads are an neat bonus definitely would recommend! I have gotten so used to it when i watch on my PC I forget its no there and forget i have ti manually skip.

Works great. Been using for a long time now. Ignore all the idiots in the reviews that don't understand ads that can't be skipped until 5 seconds, and unskippable ads.

It works most of the time, but some ads that can be skipped don't get skipped; also, if the ads can be automatically skipped when in the mini player, that would be great

It does what it says,but youtube seems to be able to tell that I'm using it.Now instead of the ads where I can skip after 5 seconds I get 2 10 second ads that have to play all the way through.Youtube is so annoying with their endless ads!!

The app works when it wants to work. Like it's turned on but it doesn't skip any of the ads. It also disables Everytime I restart my phone, and for some reason it sometimes causes my phone to not turn on for long periods of time.

It's great. As soon as the skip button is available in YouTube, it just skips it. Only had to set it up once and it's always worked. The timer feature is also handy to use.

This is extremely useful and convenient, the only thing is that, sometimes it stops working and constantly asks for permission which is being provided all the time. I tried clearing the data, cache and everything. The only solution I've found so far to be working is reinstalling it once again. After this it starts working like it used to before.

PERfeCt app! I love that I dont have to open the app everytime restart my phone. It just works automatically. And the best part is while I'm grinding hard at work, it never "skips" 🤪 an opportunity to skip that annoying ad on YouTube as I'm watching in the background to busy touch the screen.

Since YouTube have started ramping up their ads (sometimes 2 ads prior to a video starting) this app is not correctly muting. It will rather fail to mute the first half second of the second advert or else it will continue to mute into the actual main video playing on YouTube and sometimes requires intervention to increase the volume. Running on a Samsung Note 9, a modern fast phone so poor or old hardware is not an excuse

Originally it did skip some ads but sometimes it would not work. I found that updating YouTube app works wonders also the longer you leave the application installed then it starts working flawlessly at this time I've had it installed for quite some time and at 5 seconds into the ad it clicks every time.

it used to work wonderfully but after i updated my device to android 11 it started to act up and wont skip any ads anymore. tried to uninstalling and reinstalling the app but it still wont work. but for those who are using this with android 10 and below, this app is perfect! just hoping for the devs to fix this issue for the android 11
