SkyORB

SkyORB is a fast and lightweight astronomy app including a 3D star map, 3D planetarium, ephemeris with notifications, search engine, sun clock, point to sky, weather, and more. Click “…More” to learn why you should download this App today!
We love SkyORB because it not only offers 3D images of the planets and the stars in the sky, along with comets and asteroids, but it also comes a 'point to sky' feature that allows you to aim your handset towards a star or planet and it'll identify it for you.
- PC Advisor★★★★★

SkyORB features many functions as a 3D real-time representation of the planets position around the sun, the ability to hold your device and point toward a visible star and planet and reveal the name by tracking the GPS position, compass orientation, the elevation from the gyroscope, warn the user when a phenomenon is occurs as a full moon, a planet really visible, which is worth the observation. What you will get with SkyORB

Thanks to the developer for some bug fixes-this is an outstanding, scientifically useful application; impressive tool for the astronomer/planetary scientist. There are, however, some problems--at least, on the two phones I've used it on; (LG Volt II, and ZTE Warp7): the icon-style menu is hard to figure out--icons used are not self-descriptive enough. Also, left-right swiping to move the screen (space view, I think) doesn't work. Smoother transitioning during zoom, from solar system to galaxy view, and back, is needed. The stellar neighborhood rendering, during this process, should be cleaner looking (looks like it's in a fog), as should the optional planetarium, or, "all-sky"view. Otherwise, the positions and orbital motions of all solar system objects, as well as the Milky Way galaxy, are accurate and at your fingertips! Eclipses, conjunctions of all objects, from any perspective. You can move the entire Solar system into past and future with smooth continuity. The close-up views of, and from, the asteroid belt, are stunning!

I downloaded this app expecting great things as I was recommended it from a friend, however I am disappointed that all u get is a message saying unfortunately skyorb has stopped working. Furthermore, it also breaks my play store app from working returning the same message but for the play store. I then have to clear the cache before the play store starts working again. Please fix this!

Indescribable how slow and unresponsive this app is. Interface is boring, does not even meet up to Google sky map and I thought that was already barebones.

I've been using this app for a while now and absolutely love it! . Lovely 3d rendering and plenty of information that keeps you occupied for hours. Accurate and easy to use. Great job. 😊
