I basically like the app as a planetarium. Not so much for telescope control. It's actually easier to use my Synscan app and find the best targets for the evening without visuals than with Skysafari. And I'll admit I'm disappointed they have room in their database for millions of stars you'll never be able to resolve in an average amateur scope, but not enough room to retain drivers for vintage scopes that drop from the list with each update. They're responsive to emails, just not so flexible.
I had this product and it stopped working so I decided to reinstall it. Now I find out that it is no longer available and I have to pay again for the upgrade. It's kind of a ripoff since I had already paid for the upgrade and now has jumped to $15. I liked the old version but I'll look for another product.
It has revolutionised my use of the telescope, it makes setting up and finding objects so much easier. Wish I could say 💭 as much for the flakey handset of Cel…. you know who!
great software. I use it all the time to get things started for a nights shoot. Kudos to the developers.
I like this app very much and wish I could use it more , it is a good companion when I'm waiting for the train at 5:00AM. Someday soon I will not be going to work anymore and will be able to really spend a lot of time with my pal.
Great app with loads of options, info and simple to use. Haven't connected to guide my scope yet but I'm sure it'll be fine
Very useful in learning. But have had problems configuring it without it closing.
Great app. Daily notifications to upgrade to the next version. Very annoying!
This program still is best in class for astronomy.
very robust app--though at first i could've used a guide to help me figure out many features.
Excelent program, easy to use, works great controlling my telescope.
A lot of great information. I wish that I could still get the Skyweek info.
essential for beginners and those that have any interest in astronomy
Works great, and a easy to use.
We are so lucky to have Sky Safari. It is great.
Great program and my preferred one for connecting to my mount
Good just for an year. Now This is not working
Quit working on a Toshiba tablet but was able to get this to work on my S20 fe.
Great app use it every time i need to find anything
It's an awesome product. The best I've ever used.
One of the best astro apps
this app is well worth the money for an amateur like me
Cool app!! How about updates?
The Best App!
The mobile Android software has no problem linking with celestron WiFi module but I cannot make the telescope crosshair perfectly aligned with the target object although the target object is in the center of my eyepiece view. It is always off by 5-10 degree inclination eventhough I had followed the instruction in the help menu on how to align the crosshair to the target. Need help here. I used 2 Android mobile phones with the same outcome.
Great app! I'm still finding out about and exploring the extra features of this version. I find it very useful for planning observing sessions and downloading or creating observing lists. Useful in the field enough to truly replace paper star charts and object data. So many features that I doubt I'll use them all. I don't use it to control my telescope, but all of the features make this version worth much more than I paid for it!
It was 4.5 stars. But as of Nov 14, 2018 big oversight not to have new comet Machholz etc loaded. Also I still use another app to get alerts for extreme moon librations. Missing that dearly here. For the rest I am still exploring. So far so good. Clear skies would help. Next feature should be a clear the sky cannon! lol.
This app is fantastic. I used sky map before this one and this one beats it hands down. I use it in every viewing session and I find the information calender very helpful in planning my viewing sessions. There are some features I'm not set up to try yet, but I'm sure I won't be disappointed. Kudos to the developer for making such a great, must have tool in the field!
Most informative astronomy app I have seen so far. It's worth the purchase. (Edit) one feature I would love to see: the ability to darken the day sky just enough to be able the read the chart more effectively. Another feature would be the labeling of the soltices and equinoxes.
Just too difficult to use. Seems to have links to loads of features, but annoying. I got stuck for ages in something called "orbit mode" in which nothing worked, and there was a mysterious message to return earth using the "home" key, which I only found by chance. Then there are those mysterious numbers on the app icon. And the continuous new versions we have to pay for again. There are much more user-friendly apps out there.
