Skywheel

Skywheel is a simple map of the sky that shows at a glance the positions of the sun, moon and planets at your current location.

The top half of the wheel shows the sky above the horizon; the bottom half shows the sky below the horizon.

The bodies of the solar system shown on the wheel include:

- The Sun
- The Moon
- Mercury
- Venus
- Mars
- Jupiter
- Saturn
- Uranus
- Neptune
- Pluto

More exact position data can be found on the Details List screen, such as::

- Distance from Earth
- Apparent Diameter
- Compass Bearing
- Azimuth
- Altitude
- Right Ascension
- Declination
- Celestial longitude and latitude

The times of upcoming phenomena are shown on the Events screen, including:

- Sun Rise
- Sun Set
- Moon Rise
- Moon Set
- Moon Phases
- Equinoxes
- Solstices
- Eclipses

Change the place and time to view historic or future skies.

Perfect for the armchair astronomer in the family.

Really simple and informative app! Can quickly know what are the observable planets and their coordinates. No ads. Love it!

Love it. Easy to view quickly where each wandering object in the sky is. Now during this rare Winter Solstice and many days around it the Jupiter and Saturnus are on top of each other and it's only possible to tap the other one as they are so together now. So it's only possible to tap the other when you adjust settings to hide the other. Not that that's a big deal but maybe something to tinker. :)

This is a great little app to quickly see what's up in the sky. The interface is minimalistic, intiitive, and it's great for determining any in depth research you might want to do before heading out to enjoy the night sky.

Clean, intuitive, and informative.

Have tried lots of apps trying to find a simple guide to the night sky, without the clutter most of them have. Lucky to find one that does what it says on the tin.

Love it! Being an amatuer astronomer, I mainly view the Sun; (i.e. with an appropriate solar filter or Herschel solar wedge on my telescope); Moon and planets. I do not have to open an intensive astronomy app to see which planet or planets is above the horizon at any given time.

This app is fantastic! One small additional data point that would make it useful for a lot of users / star gazers is to know the current astrological sign of the planet in the tropical zodiac.

Almost perfect. A quick way to find out what's in the sky! The only thing I wish it had was a way to quickly scrub along time, so I can easily see when a certain planet is above the horizon

I like it a lot, 5 stars if this were a widget and/or a lock screen display. But I guess we armchair astronomers should be grateful we got this much ;-)

This is the app I've been looking for :D Simple and clear indication of what planets are above the horizon (is it telescope time or not?). No daft permissions. Awesome!

Very nice app! Only suggestion would be in the widget, any chance of making the refresh icon optional and/or auto refreshing options?

Easy on the eyes and simple to use but could do with an easy way to orient it. Maybe a compass?

I like lightweight apps that have a short list of permissions and work as intended. Thanks.

I dig it but I'd really appreciate if the widget didn't have the text above it.
