Just because it doesn't tell you the control's doesn't mean its doesn't have good ones. You're supposed ro find it out yourself you know like the games its based off. Too many causals are giving this game a 1/5 when they're just too dumb to find out

Great little game when I am craving dark souls, while not at home. Just having some freezing after each 3rd or 2nd round might be due to not having internet but I found away around it. But overall love it and hope to see more content later

Hard as hell.. but in a good way. honestly this simple little impossible game is probably the best android gsme i have ever seen.. when you have a good run it feels good.. and the difficulty makes u want to try again to get the highest score. like dark souls once you master the controls and what to do, the game becomes easier.. but they just do t give it to ya.. i would like to see more games like this.. no micro transactions or in app purchases. its refreshing. my fav. android game

The game has beautiful visuals. The music is also very good and nostalgic. The game looks and sounds like a retro classic. The controls aren't bad either. My only gripe is that the character auto runs forward when given no commands. I prefer to take my time. I wish I could control the speed at which he runs, and the direction he runs at all times. Maybe I will give it a shot again when I have nothing better to do.

I love it. Extremely. I can see how some people get messed up with the controls, but it is probably their fault for not swiping far enough or too slowly as all my friends and I have rarely encountered this problem. When we have was usually something like sweat or water unseen on the screen. I love it. Controls are simple and easy.

Look, I'm a big fan of the Souls series and I have always dreamed of a dark souls in my phone but this was done badly.. The controls are whacky, how the character roll is a mess, etc. I would say the only thing I like is the famous "dark souls difficulty" it's done great.. I have high hopes this game evolves to something that represents the name Dark souls well.

The game and concept are great. A new spin on the infinite runner style game. However, the control detection seems to need some debugging and/or refining. I love the translation from the 3d game discovery style gameplay to the 2d games discovery gameplay (where-in you "discover the control scheme to progress). There seems to be an issue with the deadspace needed between horizontal and vertical swipe detection though.

The game starts and you have no control over your character, he just runs into battle and all you can do it tap to slash at things in front of you. But because you cant stop him from running, you can't watch, observe and pick your moment, you either time it perfectly or take damage. Then because the world is randomly generated to a large degree, you dont get the sastifaction of gradually improveing. Sometimes you go far and other times you don't and it's all up to level generation. This isnt DarkSouls .

Music is captivating while it's graphics classically stunning as is the gameplay is amazing, except the controls for jump which makes half the game could use buttons or a more efficient system of jumping and rolling total half the attempts to initiate those actions are undermined and replaced with attacking or no response at all from given commands, as if the character doesn't fully comprehend any requested action from the player, if an update ensuring the controls would be adjusted properly for reliable gameplay it would undoubtedly become worthy of the top free and/or paid games list. In my opinion if the controls we're feasible, Slash Souls already is.

I just adore this game. Its like dark souls but on the go! Ever wanted to rage in front of your co workers then sent to the office to have the manager tell you he'll fire you again? I know awesome. Ever been at a fire reunion and been asked to leave because you scream "no you die!" I mean astonishing. Its everything I asked for. I can die over and over where I want, how I want, when I want.

The only reason I can stand this game is because it is an official dark souls game. But it needs work. I know the bit graphics try to make it look retro but all it does is make it look like a bad CD ROM game from the 90's. The concept is good but because your character is always moving and there is a black cloud chasing you, it makes the elements like rolling, blocking, and bosses not as fun as they could be. If they took some time to fix the graphics, animations, and not auto run, it would be much better.

The randomized areas will often put you in a literally impossible area (Aerial hazards and then flying gargoyles that block movement), which wouldn't be a problem if the controls didn't make maneuvering impossible.

The controls don't always work like I want, I've died a lot and I can't get enough of it, it's like the first time I played a souls game and I just wanna play this more than I do anything else on my phone. 10/10 would happily die again

It seems Bandai Namco is gonna put as much souls mercy as possible. That still doesn't mean it's good though.

The controls take some getting used to. The game is well made with plenty of souls to pick up, enemies to fight, and bosses to stomp you into the ground. Nice dark music and art style. Good game. Closest thing to a Souls game on the app store.

One of the few games that require skill, and once you figure it out, you can get good at it. And very rewarding

How video games are ruined by one or two bad hiring decisions. Controls made the artist and assets guys who worked hard on this game waste their time, and ours.

It's a cool idea and definitely fun but some of the level design and boss instances are hard to deal with, and not in the darksouls fashion. More like poorly designed hard to deal with. I expected a little more put of this game, but it's worth a look.

Great game but I already rage at dark souls in the first place so I'm good with just that. Also this "casual" this is really immature

I AM BUTTHURT AND NEED TO GET GUD..AGAIN. Closest thing to Dark Souls on the go and god damn am i terrible at it

Sla. S. Aug 25, 2017

The controls are terrible. No, I'm not swiping too slow like some other reviews claim. It just doesn't respond to swipes most of the time.

Sea. C. Jan 1, 2017

Smoth, responsive , straight-forward. These words are the opposite of how slashy souls plays. Say goodbye to a fun challenge and hello to screaming that you rolled forward, not back, and that a certain lich king may be a little overpower. In summary, please, play a good game, like bloodborne, instead of wasting your time with this.
