Sleep Ambience is a white noise app that allows you to customise background sounds to listen to while relaxing or going to sleep. If you like sleeping to the soothing sound of a river, or the beautiful songs of birds, then Sleep Ambience is for you! You can use the included tracks or make your own from scratch. You can even download tracks that others have made!

Explanation of permissions
• Read phone status and identity
- This is used so Sleep Ambience can be alerted when a phone call is incoming so it can stop any tracks playing.
• Read, modify or delete the contents of your USB storage
- This is necessary for you to be able to import your own sound files (premium feature).
• Full network access
- This is used for connecting to the track library and anonymous error and analytical reporting.
• Prevent phone from sleeping
- This is used to keep the screen on while the wake-up alarm is sounding.
• Google Play billing service
- To allow upgrading to the premium version.

The only way this app can improve would be continuing what you are doing with the app. A few requests for new sounds: Thunderstorm, Shower, Coffee pot, and Snow plow. Being someone who has insomnia, I would like to say thank you and keep up the good work. I have no regrets paying for premium. Well worth it.
UPDATE: Developer has pulled up stakes and is no longer supporting this app. You are stuck with only the default sounds now and cannot draw from the wonderful library that other users contributed to. Too bad. Wonderful app with all the features that you need in terms of the settings with timer, alarm, excetera. Very simple to use and comes with great preloaded sounds. USED TO BE Hundreds of more FREE sounds created by users available which is mind blowing. At least it has no obtrusive ads.
I was looking for a noise maker app to put my 18 month old to sleep with. This app had very few soothing sounds and interjects loud, piercing sounds with what would otherwise be peaceful. UPDATE TO REVIEW... Thanks Jazbomb, that is helpful. I can see the flexibility in the app. Changing my review to 3 stars.
The intermittent sounds should be truly randomised, and the rain sounds and some others sound bad and tinny. It may be my phone, but if they sounded good and the other sounds played at random intervals, i would definitely pay for full. Then it would be the best app yet for creating a soundscape world. All the same, there is some fun to be had, mixing sounds
It's been quite awhile since i be had my LG g3 and the text size issue STILL hasn't been fixed. All the text, sliders and timer are ridiculously small and hard to adjust with your finger. Works fine on other phones, I love the app but its been far too long to go without a fix and I'm not the first review to point it out either. As much as I like this app, its not worth using in its current state on the LG g3
Good app however, I've noticed that on the paid version that I can only create my own sound via inputting my own music etc., while connected to the internet. I'm dissappointed how I cannot do this "offline" Unlike a lot of people, I don't like to be permanently connected to the internet :)
I tried 3 different sounds to fall asleep. Every single one had one loud noise that must play in a loop. As they played, I knew that they would eventually wake me. So I switched thinking I should try a different one. No, that didn't work. I gave it 3 tries. This app is being deleted.
I love this app. Use it all the time and have had it on two phones. The only drawback is the volume and frequency controls don't display correctly on my Note 5. They're only a fraction of an inch long, making them nearly impossible to fine tune. Other than that, it's been perfect!
This little app has done wonders for my sleep. As an insomniac I quite often have my days ruined by my poor sleep cycle or either I push my sleep to the tender edge by continuously hitting the snooze button. I have slept with background most of my life and have become accustomed to the sound of a fan purring away in the background. When I my fan died during the night I was unable to sleep. That's when I found the magic of this app and the power of RAIN! Kudos devs!
I need gentle and consistent sounds like soft rain or white noise without random other sounds coming in at random moments... So none of the default sounds worked for me. The download page had better sounds, thankful that none were purchases.
It gives you every good sound you'd want that you can choose and it runs in the background. The only thing I would add is being able to share your favorite online. Oh yeh and there's no sound for digereedoo and on the train :/
Points for putting together this app. Not a copy of so many others but unique, well done. No problems just don't like how every natural sound is paired with elevator music.
I have for some time had problems getting to sleep. Since using this app I no longer have such problems. I set the timer for 55mins and have never been awake to hear it switch off. It is also a very easy app to use and yet it is very powerful.
In these days of too much stress, this is just what I needed. During the day for a 2-minute respite, or at night to help me get to sleep.... this is 100 times better than any prescription I've ever gotten! Just what the doctor ordered!
It took a little while to get used to what's good but some of the user made downloads are brilliant and if I still can't sleep I can at least get very good rest. Thank you so much.
This app was amazing until I downloaded the new Android update. Now every sound skips just slightly after about 15 seconds of being played. It's enough to keep me from falling asleep. Please fix this!
This is a fabulous app, really helps with tinnitus. Only issue I have is that on the Samsung Galaxy S6 the sliders and other pop up menus aren't coming up correctly. They appear very small and it's hard to move the sliders accurately.
Good app with great customisability. The only annoyance is that it keeps playing when my headphones come out - quite embarrassing when I use it in the library to block out noise. It would be good to have a setting to change that. But otherwise, it has a very good selection of sounds and allows you to fine-tune your own ones.
