I'm still Unimpressed with this App version. Still missing features from the previous app. I don't trust the Appliance category or recognition and cannot make any manual adjustments. At least the hardware is functioning after several years of use. I've stopped recommending this system to my friends. Nest integration was inoperable. 220 sub metering is not able to be shown as a single device. Meter detail type has preset categories with no option for custom categories. The list goes on..
Well, the app itself is not too bad. The problem is that the main concept of smappee doesnt work fine. I have it installed since 4 month. Is not able to recognise most of my devices. Even the heatpump that have a very repetitive pattern is not recognised... The visualisation options in the app is very limited... I would like to compare days or week, make difference etc.... Not possible. Over all: nice idea and device. but not markt ready. The algoritm has to improved.
Early adopter, loved the concept but as time goes by they made it worse rather than better, over 2 weeks in my latest installation after moving the device to a new home, nothing got picked up yet. Fortunately now there are many competitors, I wouldn't buy another smappee, especially as the cost went up and algorithms haven't improved. Lastly, the app keeps losing features one after another, it was way better 3 years ago, can't even add appliances manually anymore...
I really wanted to love the superb concept and friendly interface. Unfortunately the hardware cannot reliably detect any appliances (a 13 hour clothes wash cycle for example or a water pump that does not exist). The product is not market ready and requires additional sub metering to be functional. Support admits this but continues to omit important product information on their site. The app is therefore pretty and completely useless.
This app doesn't work in landscape like the old app... would be nice to get that feature back. Also would be nice to see a more real time graph with maybe some information on the graph like what appliances came on at that peak on the graph. Maybe a calculated amount both in kWh and $ could be should as the graph updates also.
Very informative app. Just one thing, in the scenes sunrise and sunset don't work, it would be great to activate my garden lights but I had to use a time based schedule because they don't turn on/off with the sunrise/set schedule.
Working well so far. Found the cloths drier using power on standby. Other things on standby we do not use now off. Does not find two AC units.Have used for more than 30 days. Not giving any $ amount feedback. Thought it would improve with use. Very basic. Not work now. Not worth buying.
Very informative app. Unfortunately does not allow to enter varying energy rates and the cost estimate is therefore unusable. However, I do love how easily I can manage my total consumption and solar production. Great for making future decisions for investments in the house (energy storage, electric car etc.)
Values totally differ from inverter and unable to add a charging station as it stalls at load measuring menu where nothing is selectable
I wanted to like this system I really did, the the hardware is reliable and accurate, support is excellent, where the system let's down is it's ability to only work off one energy tariff therefore anyone that has a night/day meter the system is absolutely useless to accurately calculate your monthly spends automatically, so after investing I still have to take the trip to my utility meter to take my KW day/night usage, I still have to put the readings on a spreadsheet to calculate my two tariff spends which is ridiculous, the app itself other than that is just Ok there is an annoying training video on the home tab which could be put somewhere else and the space put to much better use, webpage also needs work the kwh usage on the graph does not match the apps kwh usage??, Also the system cannot detect loads of variable capacity for example heat pumps etc which is extremely disappointing as they are the future of house heating, the act will need to be got together asap especially if you're thinking of pairing with Nest etc!!!
Been using this for a while now. Appliance learning is rubbish (small list and does not work). Simple app design with lack of configuration options. Older app was better. Get it done right!
I'm sorry but I'm rating 1 star. After buying such an expensive piece of technology, the fact of the app being so incomplete let's you down. 1. Why can't I select a range of dates to know how much kwh I've consumed in the specific time frame? Not all electricity companies read your meters on the 1st of every month.
Cannot get this to work, dont buy... Get a message saying that i need to configure the device with an apple device, tried with 2 iphones(7 and 11) and an ipad.. The iphone app is even worse and the login button does not work...
Nice update of rates but it does not apply in Pakistan.i would suggest to add last meter reading option and date in app. So that it updates with meter running (usage of electricity kwh). At present it is available in web browser.
Found that over the years they have removed features (it finds less appliances than it used to, you have to pay to access the API, they have removed the find application button)
Is there a way to allow the sensitivity of the appliance detection adjusted? I find that it doesn't detect many appliances that it used to.
App is close to useless. Just buy a low cost energy sensor that will do the same for less money!

I reinstalled it again and smappee energy recognized it. Everything is now working as expected
can not give negatives or it would be minus 5 new version will not open. old version did not do nearly as promised and why would it only calculate in GBP?
None of my comfort plugs work now, how can i roll back this to the previous version?

My Smappee hardware has been working fine since 2017. Initially it was exciting to find new appliances. With this new app though, no appliances are found and the visualisations are gone. I have switches and they are good, but very limited data is available from them. For instance I can't see the power usage over a specific time period. For my system, I'd probably get the same or better info from a much cheaper device.
