Useless! Never used to have a problem until the last 12 months. I can only ever access the app via out of home and a few days ago that stopped also and when clicking on out of home, Chinese symbols appeared and never opened! I'm sure after uninstalling and reinstalling it'll take forever to find the device again just like it did last time. Please update and make it effortless to use! Why does the app need access to my contacts and photos etc also????
this worked really well on Android 8 based units, but doesn't work at all with Android 9 based units. at least it doesn't work on my xiaomi mi 9 phone. hasn't been updated in over a year, so perhaps when you are planning on buying a new air conditioner, then skip the so called smart units, because they're dependable on good software that is updated regularly. this one is not.
Samsung time to wake up! Your app is not working and you have not done anything to fix it!! Using Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and your smart AC units and I get stuck in a loops of constant refresh unable to control any of the 5 units!! 🤯 This is mind blowing don't you care about your customers, that sounds like a question but is actually a statement! No you don't if you did we wouldn't all be 6 months and more in to NON working software! FIX IT ❗
It used to work, slow and clunky, but it did work most of the time. Now it's useless. I lost all of my existing AC connections and the app refuses to add them again - can't find any appliances. SAMSUNG says to replace units with new ones that support SmartThings. Really, SAMSUNG? I paid premium for these devices! I own four and now you want me to throw them away and pay again? Not happening. You are masters of customer dissatisfaction.
Used to be at least semi functional but since the latest updates is just a bug ridden useless waste. The wifi and away from home connectivity was probably the biggest factor in our choice to go with a Samsung air conditioner - that's how it was sold. 2020 update - still the worst app ever. Out of home functionality STILL doesn't work. Timer function now crashes app. Privacy concerns out the wahzoo. No help from Samsung - ignoring all complaints now. I want a refund on the air con units.
Messy software, every now and then but fortunately not often all four ACs at the same time lose their connection to the smartphone and it takes 7 or 8 tries for each to reconnect, very frustrating. Connection loss despite using the same smartphone and OS (Samsung Galaxy S8 and Android 9) and same router with same settings. Better avoid Samsung ACs if WiFi connection is important for you until they perfect their software. Otherwise the ACs themselves are very good.
The app is so bad I needed an old version of Android just to set up my new WiFi. It may have been updated in may but only for EU compliance. Login interface is disgusting and cannot save login. Will not allow use of smart things and as such can not be used by Google home. This is an abysmal support outcome from a company that would rather sell you a mobile phone.
LE: latest udate only translates login error meesage from Koreean to English? Old text: What the f..k???!!! In home function stoped working many years ago - does not discover the AC, now, after latest Android update and security policy updates, out of home stopped as well. I can no longer connect with Samsung account. Older ACs are not supported by SmartThings...so how are we going to use AC wifi function? Awkward enough the app works flawlessly on an iPhone.
Been using the app from the day we got the Samsung air conditioner. But been getting worse every yr. Now that you have the new apps that are not compatible with the unit i own. You now stop making sure the old app works. Even worse don't understand why you did not make the new apps that even come with new samsung smart phones. Work with older samsung wifi aircositioner
It's hopeless to connect with the AC. I was connected to the AC a few months ago and had to set up the connection again, but it just blinks AP, nothing found on the app. The AC AP is visible in the WiFi list but not in this app.
This was the only app that worked! We sent lots of money one of the reasons we did was the Wifi capability. You make new app that won't work with this unit. Then you mess with this app so it also won't work with the unit i own. If this is not corrected i will need to stop buying Samsung. Thinking my next air conditioner will be Panasonic.
Constantly stops working. Have to be on the phone with samsung every 2 months... gets escalated to "Air Con Specialists" and then they reset something and it starts working again. Always fails when you need it the most (I.e. summer). Don't go Samsung.
In recent years it always has big problems, the timers do not work and crashes continuously, if the remote management with wifi was a great strength now it is completely unreliable. Fix the problem please
The app closes everytime i enter the timer setting. This needs to be fix. It used to find both Aircons but now i have to refresh a few times just to get both. Out of home doesn't work.
It used to work with both air cons in my bedrooms. Now I changed the router from Sky and does not connect to the air cons at all in AP mode. Hero to zero. Developers, please sort it out. I'm using the Samsung Note 9 and Apple iPhone 8 plus and same issue.
It does work well if you use a Samsung smartphone. However, if you use any other smartphone device, you have to enter username, password and also solve a captcha EVERY time you login to the App. Honestly, this is ridiculous, and a company like Samsung should remove this bottleneck ASAP. Until then I can only give this App the minimum score of 1 star.
One of the worst applications that I ever installed on my phone's!! The App is useless, - Can't find the new Air Conditioner. - After all that miserable process, the app can't find any Air Conditioner.
Terrible, out of home function stopped working a month ago. Only reason we bought this air conditioner is for this function. We've had numerous problems with this app for the 4 years we have been using it.
Edit: I still get the import failed issue with the latest update (Androi 10). Is it fixed for anyone? It used to work but lately I am just getting the message "Import failed" when trying to connect out of home. Useless.
Timers no longer work. Not sure when it stopped as I haven't used it for several months. When I tap either on or off timer, the app crashes.
This app does not work on Android 10. Shame on you Samsung for not allowing Air Conditioners prior to 2014 to connect to the new app SmartThings. At least make this one work on the new Android versions.
Application verry slow, extremely boring to operate the AC; schedule's are often lost. With Android 10, doesn't work, hangs during AC loading.
Need a lot of tweaking, unstable, very difficult to connect to your network! Need a degree in networking. But it works with my air-conditioning lol
Even after adding the air conditioner, it stills keeps searching every single time I launch the app. It requires access for phone calls, my contacts etc. For an air conditioner app??? Timer setting doesn't work, app keeps crashing. Honestly it's just easier to use the remote you get with the device unless you *really* want to be able to control it when not at home EDIT (8-Oct-2020) Timer issue seems resolved in latest update, can now access it.
