Great app because it's offline. Don't need a mobile or WiFi connection. If you shut down Android or battery dies, you have to go to system and select SD card memory if that's where you stored the maps, as I did. Shows many footpaths as well as roads. I use proper paper maps but this app tells me where I am so it's a useful accessory. The GPS tracker is a useful record, but you can't change the period between each data point.
Truely awesome map clarity and super smooth on my old tablet. Excellent in unfamiliar towns. Text size either too big or too small for my bad eyesight but ok for most I guess. Missing map update policy statement. Genuinely free. Understand it's a map, not a router, with basic favourites and POI capabilities. Incredible piece of work, thanks.
Great that you can download maps especially because you download a zipped version. But if there are several maps for one country and you want all you have to download every one separately. Moreover the navigation within the downloaded apps is really bad because you first have to choose the map you want to use and its complicated to change from one to the next. And thats just from trying to use the app for a few hours. Overall there are much better apps.
Excellent App, I would like to know from where you obtain the map information. I use O/S maps to plan routes on my PC and then download them to my phone for when out walking, however, there is information on these maps that is not on the O/S maps. E.g. concessionary paths, names of nature trails and more. Brilliant.
This app didn't work. I really hoped it would but it didn't. I downloaded a map and couldn't access it. The app shut down on me. Seemed to respond strange and wouldn't open at all.
Great Map to have especially where you dont have great cell coverage. Saved our trip when traveling through Cuba where directions and signage are extremely challenging
Been working very well and I love the app but i upgraded to the paying version and it has stopped working crashes as soon as I try to download a map....help anyone? ver 1.55
App thinks it needs access to my storage and will not load without it. App is incorrect and will not be used. Uninstalled immediately.
Wasted 300MB downloading my map, only for the app to not load the app and go back to downloads to re-download the map... Won't load already downloaded map.
Countries in Africa are empty,no roads, buildings in almost all the countries
power consumption is terrible. constant ads. not designed for my android screen
Version 1.54 is unusable after the update as it continually fc's every time.

This is an update to my previous review, so a total re-write is in order. ------ At first, I had many problems making this app work on my Android 5.1 phone. The developer was kind enough to answer my inquiries with helpful suggestions. That is unusual for a Play Store app! At this time, the app is working very well on my phone, despite its antiquated operating system. ------ The application is quite fun to use and, for the most part, very easy to figure out. It's truly offline. You don't even have to have Data or WiFi turned on, but you do have to pre-download the maps- of course. It also respects you choice of GPS settings. Some apps change it to High Accuracy, or whatever. This one leaves your choice alone (battery saver for me). --------- Maps download compressed, so download is fast & uses little Data. Then, the automatically de-compress off line if desired. -------- I enjoy the Distance marking feature as well a being able to have (and edit or delete) many Favorites. I'm mighty lousy at pinch-zoom, so having Plus & Minus buttons for zooming is a well appreciated addition to the pinch-zoom capability. The maps, when zoomed way in,are still easy to read. --------- I very much appreciate that the app itself is small and takes little phone storage. (For me, it will not work unless it is on the phone storage.) The maps can be on the SD Card storage, so all the giant files are on the giant storage. No, it does not have navigation, but there are other apps if desired. I'm not interested, so the app fits my "qualifications" just fine. ----------- I don't know if there is a paid version to get rid of the ads (couldn't figure that out), but the ads are small & don't get in the way. I would pay to ditch them, however. --------------- The only glitch that I have now is is quite a minor, and amusing, one: Often while I am walking about, the arrow will point opposite to the direction of travel. Example: If the phone is pointing north and I am moving north, the arrow points south, but still moves north. Then, when it gets its wits about itself, the arrow will spin around like mad, eventually settling in the correct position (or the wrong one). It's pretty fun to watch it spin. -------- Some maps that I have don't mark one-way streets, but I think that is the map source's problem, not the app.Besides, if you go the wrong way, you'll figure it out fast! ----------- The only thing I'd like to see added is the ability to make the top of the map be the direction of travel. Right now, North is always up. But, this app is free, so I should not beg someone else to work for free!. ---- I can't get rid of my old review on the Play Store. Please ignore it and consider this review as proper. ---- Thank You Mr/Ms Developer for providing this app for us to enjoy and Thank You for answering my inquiries!
