Smart Scan – PDF Scanner, Free files Scanning

It worked well at saving individual pages as a PDF, but when I tried to save a group of pages as a PDF, the app "stops working" and it closes. Maybe it's due to an update or needs an update. I don't think it's due to my phone, because it's still a fairly new model. This app gets 4 stars for the capability of producing single PDFs with ease. It's pretty good, considering.

App functions as intended but it comes along with adware-like ads. Once you install, you'll start seeing system wide ads popping up every now and then. I could've given three stars for it's functionality but I'm not going to encourage users to download this app when there are plenty of other alternatives available. Shame on the developer for using such cheap tricks.

Wow, this is one annoying app. If you want a quick way to scan docs and then email them, this is a fine way to go. Didn't use any other features. Would have gotten five stars and rave review but absolutely unacceptably intrusive!! To never before seen heights! Ads come up constantly and whether you are even using the app. And it is at every chance. Open an app, get an ad, open another 2 seconds later, get another. Some with sound! Horrible. Get it, use it, kill it with extreme prejudice!

Pop-Up Ads while app not in use---- No thanks, Smart scan. Got ads every time I swiped on the home screen of my Pixel 2. I know it's ad- supported so I expected ads in the app, but full-screen ads when I swipe to a different page on my home screen?- Thats intrusive and an overreach on the developer's part. I uninstalled the app and the disgusting ads went away. It's a shame because the app works well. I would be OK with a one-time payment but will not enter into a subscription--that's huge $$

It took me a while until I noticed that it was this app that was displaying ads at random times even if I wasn't using the app, most of the time after unlocking the phone. Too bad, the app is well made and I would have been happy to pay a buck or two for having an ads free app. Instead I've spent my time uninstalling other apps until I found the guilty one.

as far as functionality, the app works great. I expected ads with in the app when I had it open. there is no reason for any app to push ads on to your phone when it's not open/in use. as other users have said, it makes your phone unusable because there is no way to close them out other than uninstalling the app. Whoever made this app needs to fix that.

This is a good app BUT . . . as others say ads on your text messages and the app runs in the background which is why it uses up your resources. I forced a stop on it and pretty much immediately it restarted itself. There is no need for this, its intrusive. For that reason, uninstalling.

top scanner torch on subject before hand lightens up document rather than just a flash which tends to bounce back on some images .top idea also able to see document in low light level . focusing bit of a problem sometimes have to take second scan ,not big problem but will be excellent if able to press on image to refocus simmilar to other apps and then take photo given you sharper image first shot . bo delete button if shot not clear you have to go back on phone button or save than delete.

Gives your phone absurdly intrusive ads constantly when the app isn't even open. It's at a level that shouldn't even be legal, I'd even open my text messages and get an advertisement because of this. To top it off the quality of the scan isn't even good, it comes out blurry every time. Use LITERALLY ANY OTHER app for pdf conversion.

I think the developer is a con artist - my personal assumption based on this app's sudden increase in ads. Now they already have a high rating, the 1 star reviews aren't making a dent in the total score now the ads have virtually bricked my phone. Made my phone virtually unusable with it's pop-up ads, litterally unusable - try to make a call and an ad pops up which you can't dismiss other than clicking through.. and then it pops up again! These developers need to get thrown off Google Play .

It is the BEST I have used. The only thing is that I haven't seen where is the option to for the $0.99 purchase.... I would also suggest that it could do without the 'Funny Scan' feature because it is not effective. But since that has nothing to do with the performance of the app itself. I had to give it a 5 star. One would have to try to see what I am talking about as it would take me more space than provided here to mention the features that impress me.

the app works great, but not worth it. Too many pop up ads. It's a free app, I get it. I'd understand if i got an ad everytime i used the app. But i get pop up ads every 20 minutes from when i restart my phone. enter i open the app or not. ugh.

great app but way too many ads. they run in the background and it also affected my other apps on the phone. uninstalling. if the ads went away or they had an option to pay for a version without ads I'd go that route.

did everything it promised to, except also included full page ads that pop up even you've minimized the app. You'll be reading an article or watching a video and out of nowhere, an ad fills your entire screen. I don't mind ads for free apps, but this is really insidious.

Allows you to take pictures of single documents or 'batches'. However crashes when you try to Share, Convert to PDF, or do much beyond deleting documents or cropping them before conversion. Lets you rename files as you wish. Overall disappointing, unusable.

This app saved me in a major pinch! I downloaded two other pdf scanners before I tried this one. This app allowed me to scan a letter into pdf format. Save it, and email it as a downloadable pdf format. The other two programs I tried first only allowed it to be sent as a link and not downloadable. This app is quick and easy and is exactly what it says it is in the description.

Edit: contains popup ads even if you dont have the app open. DO NOT DOWNLOAD Great. Only issue is that I can't directly save the pdf. Have to email (saving to drive doesn't work). Making the UI easier to navigate would help.

I was getting weird full page ads a day or so after installing this. when I was going into a new app or onto the web it would pop up. At first I didnt connect it to this app but I never download anything and this was the only change. It wasn't even running in the background.... No thanks.

Adds keep popping up when app is not in use. Have no issues with in app adds but when I am hanging up phone calls and getting adds pop up I have my limits. The apps is good with being able to have black and white and tells you file size but seriously adds should be restricted to whilst the app is open

not a bad scanner.. It got the job done! But holy !@#$, Take away the God forsaken pop up ads that interrupt what ever you was doing.. I uninstalled good apps looking for what could be causing the issue and low and behold it was this.. Get rid of the intrusive ads and I'll reconsider installing again but in the mean.. You got to go..

I love this app and would give it 5 stars BUT it pushed ads even when I was in other applications so I would have to waste time closing ads to, for instance, turn on my flashlight. it happened dozens of times a day. I had to uninstall it.

Started to get a lot of useless full screen pop up ads after installing. They come up all the time, even on navigation! After I uninstalled it the ads stopped. Too bad because the app works well. I would avoid this app.

I clicked a link on Facebook to download this. Immediately after my phone had annoying pop up ads. These ads even got into my chrome browser!! I uninstalled the app and the problem went away immediately. The problem ads also immediately stopped appearing in my browser as well.

This app just saved my life and my mental sanity lol! I was trying to upload a document as a pdf for a school assignment and the, "genius scan app" wanted to charge a monthly fee! I was NOT having that lol, so my instructor suggested I try another app...so I downloaded this one and it worked perfectly in an instant!! It was so simple, quick and easy. My assignment is now submitted and I can go to bed lol. Thank you!

one of the best scanners I've seen here. Ocr needs a little work, but I'm sure it has a lot to do with quality of scan. looking forward to additional functions. Easy and efficient to use. Thanks for the continued update.

In app ads, out of app adds everywhere, ,, app itself is what I've expected (camera is not as good as some similar purposed apps are having) but for some time I couldn't find why those add are all over my phone--it runs the apps from background, no matter of what service your using on your phone. Awful and very disruptive

A good app but once I installed it I started receiving hundreds of unsolicited adware type advertising over a number of months. It took me a while to realise that this ap was generating the ads so I uninstalled it and the advertising ceased. The ads were so disruptive and a waste of my time on my business mobile. Such a shame as it is a good ap.
