I purchased this to turn an old rooted Android 2.3 phone into an atomic clock. Great in theory as it can use GPS to automatically get the time, without needing to be connected to the internet - or so I thought. The problem is, the app keeps on checking for the license to prove I've bought it, which means internet needed. This means it's useless, as it wont work at all without a valid licence check. How stupid is that? Other paid apps don't do this so why this app? I'm now back to using the free version which at least allows you to do a manual sync. Total waste of money!!!!!
App needs constant 24 hour wan access to "call home" to verify license. Contacted dev and got no response. I bought your app and can't use it. What a scam!
While it is buried in the description, this app does not work if phone your is not Rooted!!!!
I'm using a rooted nexus 4 with android 6.0.1. I can't sync anymore. Root access is granted, time is fixed but device time is never changed. 😑
Previously recommended, however the app no longer works with the latest Android versions.
Great app, does perfectly it's job, and access permissions are just right.
Gps takes a while but accuracy is worth paying for passive checking

This app is awesome for time sync on a device like a tablet or any other devices that you might have like a phone that no longer has cellular service that you'd still like to use as a PDA. The developer is also prompt at fixing reported bugs. This app is a MUST GET!
Use it for 2 years. Unlike many others can sync via GPS. Tiny footprint and doesn't consume battery
Great for keeping exact time correction.
Works exactly as expected; perfect way to synch the time on a tablet (phones can use the carrier time signal, though this can often be significantly out). Accurate time synchronisation is something necessary to ensure accurate time synch for things like Google Authenticator, of course - even 30s out breaks things. For only $1 this is a bargain, though of course you need to root your device first.
Poor email support, seems to have problem with some types of root
Too many problems to list here. Been emailing developer but no replies. Pretty much given up, don't use it any more, just another wasted purchase.

Background sync is what I want. Just bought. Will comment further later.

Try to synch and am told "no root access, manually set time" which will always be out by a few seconds. Better than nothing, but irritating non the less

my tablet goes off by about 10 minutes A day( galaxy tab 3) and this solved the problem
This is a great app, and it works as advertised, but it prevents your phone from sleeping which causes a lot of battery usage. I use the app Greenify to keep it in check.
If you are in the field, away from an internet connection, you can have very accurate timing via GPS. It is just a very cool app to have and use. A+

I've already bought the FULL version and it still WILL NOT SYNC in the background!!! It keeps telling me to buy the FULL ap!!!
Easy and reliable
This utility was one on my short list of must-haves with Lollipop. It was invaluable while traveling when the network time was inaccurate or did not give the correct time zone. Unfortunately with the change to Marshmallow, Smart Time Sync no longer syncs reliably. I have used this app on a Nexus.5 and a pair of 5X phones. Occasionally it works, usually not.
