In the absence of a remote control, this app makes it easier to manipulate my Samsung smart tv. The occasional ads are indeed annoying, but I guess it is understandable. This app compared to other remote control apps I've tried, is the least annoying and the most straightforward. No need to select the brand. One just needs to scan on the LAN and the connect at ease!
Still a lot of bugs to work out.. I purchased the Ad Free Version, and now I am a little sorry I did. I do not feel like I was ripped off , the App has so much potential, I am trying to use it with the Amazon Echo 8 . I was able to get a few of the function to work (Power, Volume , pull up smart options but unable to use them, I can enter individual channels in the open area but cannot get them to work properly
Only works on Samsung TV's gives no indication until you start looking through the settings. I don't have a Samsung TV, in case that wasn't clear. Also, I'm downloading apps, because my infrared scanner doesn't work. Given the first step is turn it off and on, and the second step is get out the soldering iron, I figured maybe an app could connect, apparently I was wrong.
Looks like a pretty good remote would not automatically find my Samsung TV but by entering the ip address manually I was able to connect. It does need to be simplified a bit and if it were I would probably purchase. All in all good job developers. I will check back later to see if there has been any improvements
This app is trash. Doesn't do anything at all! I have a Samsung smart tv which it specifically says it is for. It did find my tv and say it was connected, yet it still would not do a damn thing! I wasted almost 2 hours trying to figure it out and I'm pretty tech savvy! When I found a help section, it said there where videos to show how to operate. WRONG! The video did not explain one damn thing! it just showed some dude clicking on the "smart UI" icon and making dots appear on a screen! uninstall
the app is unstable from time to time. the volume bottom stop working and only works if I clear cache and reset the control. and sometimes it fails alm together by not registering the IR option built onto the phone unless again u clear cache and reset controls and of course... these stupid pointless ads that no one looks at or instantly closes without giving it one eye glance as to what it is.
It doesnt even deserve the one star i was forced to give it. It can work, i made it work, but it took a very long time, the vast majority of which i spent exiting from apps on the app store which it tries to shove down your throat over and over again, and watching adverts. Its just a pool of adverts, every time you press anything you get adverts, adverts, adverts! I deleted it as its far to irritating to use. Absolute pile of rubbish.
Doesn't work. After connecting to the tv, pushing buttons directly in the app did nothing to the TV. Using it with Alexa didn't work either. After registering it with Alexa, told her to tell smart remote to turn on the tv (or off) she just says "OK" and nothing happens. Also, lots of adds. And the app collects a LOT of your data.
Unfortunately, as often, adverts kept for going on with the settings. Devs, you should be careful when attacking right away with so many ads. Setting up such apps is never something easy, it requires calm and patience. Being constantly disturbed with ads while setting up an app doesn't give the user the will to go further. This way I won't even know if this app could have fit my needs. With such a monetization scheme you are running your own work.
Pretty terrible app, layout is awfull, the fact that you cant even test the app to see if youd be interested in pro because every other screen is an advert set to full screen. Connected to tv and nothing working, no where to see what the issues are... thoroughly disappointed as the only reason I downloaded it was to get it linked with Alexa. Will have a look to see if theres an alternative xD
PLEASE HELP!!! Can't connect to my Samsung UN65KS800D TV using the "D" series option. Can connect using other series options but most controls either dont work or perform wrong function. I REALLY WANT THIS TO WORK SINCE IT INTEGRATES WITH THE ALEXA APP. I'll purchase the Pro version in a heartbeat if it will work properly with my TV.
Unable to get it to work my Samsung smart tv, all the help videos are also out of date, model UE49MU6470, tried M series and M series 2018 as the selection, but this doesn't work. Tried to remove device and add again also uninstall and reinstall the app but still doesn't work. The TV is up to date with it's software, ours it's on version 1290.
Exactly what I was looking for. Just wish I found it earlier. Works perfect giving my Echo Show 5 voice commands to control my Samsung smart TV. The TV is just a year or so older so that it does not work properly with SmartThings. This app solved the problem. For $2.50, more than worth it. Thanks for making this devs!!!!
Perhaps its the fact that the remote doesn't specifically support the samsung 6 series, but the remote on the app seems to stop working within 5-10 seconds of use. In order to get the app working again, it must be closed then reopened. This also applies to using Alex voice assistance to control basic functions of the tv
Junk. Never worked. Connected once via Alexa, but even then only turned Samsung tv off, but not back on. Once TV is off it loses network connection. After that couldn't get it to connect again. Waste of time and energy. No point of using Alexa skill if I need the app to connect every time
I can't get the app to function properly. It identifies my television, connects to Alexa, but still no control use. I have had several other smart remotes on my phone that work fine but this is suppose to work with Alexa and failing miserably.
I spent 20 minutes before giving up. It can't find any of my Samsung TVs. The user interface is horrible. To reply to the question: I have 2 Samsung TVs. 1 is an older 2012 model and the other is the Samsung 8 Series. This doesn't work for either.
needs to add smart remote as service and be able to have a fixed IP programmed in I am running it on an android box connected to a samsung tv model e it works but if you lose power you must restart the app and do a search and select the tv before it will work again note to others having problem connecting echo, make sure you register smart remote in the settings with the echo by pairing Not sure which one to use? do both of them.
Says the use of ir is available. Not even an option in the app. I have a s8. It has ir. And every time you push a button your forced to exit from an ad. Very aggravating. Not worth your time. Don't download. I'm sorry I did. Just put me in a cross mood and I don't like that.
The ads are quite annoying when trying to setup. Didn't realize that it only works with Samsung TVs via network. It may work with other brands via IR but the only IR blaster I have (RM mini 3) is not supported. Uninstalling for now.
It won't connect with our Samsung 52' curved smart TV. It can find the TV on the network when I search for it but won't connect to it. This is frustrating because this app looks like it has a lot of potential
I am so sick of ads on a remote control. I should not have to dismiss advertising to use a remote. What a joke. To add to it, what a ridiculous response. The reason for ads is obvious. The fact I need to actively dismiss anything to use a remote is a horrible idea. My pint is, these things can be managed better. It is not only this app, also many others
The idea is great and works okay as long as the TV is on. I can switch off my Samsung TV using alexa but then app loses the connection so cant switch it back on and even when i switch on it doesnt find the tv again automatically. Anyway to fix it ? Samsung UE55KU6500
I have received a lot of useful information and help from adiroid. Send them an email and they'll take you through the setup process. The app has several features and may need to be simplified. The ads can be frustrating, but if you are using alexa to voice control its not too noticeable. There 5 🌟
Most of the apps I have tried Do not work. This one does and doesn't require me to have WiFi on or even cellular data. That's what I am talking about hell ya developer s you guys rock this is how easy an app should be. ( Vizio E480i -b2) TV thank you
My phone doesn't have infrared, so apparently this app is useless. Terrible interface. Not user-friendly at all. Was hoping to control Xfinity with Alexa as indicated in the Alexa skill with the same name. Disappointing.
I can't get this to work no matter how hard I try. My Samsung tvs connect over network but don't do anything. I can't find any instructions online what series to select so I tried them all. A few allow me to connect but nothing happens! If I could control my TV's with Alexa I would have bought in a second. UN40H6350 UN60H6350 UN50J5201
horrible, the ads are annoying and intrusive. i have an xfinity cable box, pretty basic. it couldnt find it and the app is not intuitive at all. i got it because it supposedly worked with Alexa, but never got that far-
This app is not user friendly. Difficult to figure out how to set it up. I finally got it to connect to my Samsung tv via ip address, it didnt do anything at all. I even tried through Alexa and still nothing. Maybe it will work with an IR blaster only. But really, how many phones have IR capabilities? This was my experience with this app. Hopefully its helpful.
