We loved this all and device. But it is now a brick. After July 2021 there was no support for the software and sometime after that the software and website no longer works. The customer service number doesn't work. I assume the company or this part of it is out of business. Which is too bad. It was a great product in our experience. If anyone figures out alternative aofware to control it let us know!

Much better with new modlets but still has issues. (1) I always get "oops, something went wrong" when i open the app (doesnt seem to affect anything). (2) Scheduling is funky. You should be able to set an off time every day - without an on time. This would be useful if you often forget to turn an AC off before leaving or going to bed. (3) You should be able to see the set temperature when the modlet is switched off.

What a horrible app. Where do I begin. When my ACs are added and configured to the App it doesn't turn it on. Then the devices disappear from the app. When I try to delete the device and try to set it up again, the added devices don't show up on the app. Who the hell launched this app without testing all the bugs? Plus meanwhile, I'm probably going to be charged a fee for not using the smart AC adapters.

I don't know it its the app, or the support but the app is absolute garbage, I connected 3 A/Cs fine, however I couldnt get a fourth one to connect due to it not being on the same router ( I assume this because they're on the same network ). When I called customer service i waited 30 minutes to speak with someone who really didnt have a clue as to what was the problem, REALLY Con Ed??

When it works, it's great -- the problem is getting it to work. I dread setting it up every summer because it's so buggy that there's no clear step-by-step method to make it work. You just have to go through the set-up process over and over until whatever bug was keeping it from working the first few dozen times arbitrarily rights itself, which can take anywhere from 10 minutes to a few hours, during which you have to keep checking both your phone and the device every few minutes. If I ever wanted to get a criminal to confess I'd force them to set this thing up. They'd be begging for mercy long before it was done. EDIT: After another day of trying to set it up I changed my rating from 2 stars to 1.

Definitely one of the worst UIs I have ever used. I wish I could include screenshots because the date/time picker when creating a schedule is not a picker at all, but a DROPDOWN MENU of every single date/time combination from 12:00am Sun to 11:45pm Sat. Also, there's a "pet mode" feature which has no documentation in the app on how to configure it or on their website. I ended up finding a link to a YouTube video on ConEd's website but it still didn't explain the settings well.

My experience would be totally different if I had to buy the system, but they came for free through Eversource's (seemingly now defunct) SmartPREP program. Initially the app was almost useless, but it has evolved into a very solid application (paired with the solid redesign of the web application). Can do everything I need from the app except look at daily usage graph. I can set temperature, turn A/C on/off, and disable schedules for days when the weather is already cool. Very convenient.

Much better than the old app. Had a few issues reconnecting one of the modelet thermostats but eventually worked. To comments below, it does work with Alexa, you need the find the skill on the Alexa app. Tried it and it works fine, I've incorporated it into some routines (example saying I'm going out will turn off all AC units). One star off though because it does not work with Google Assistant. Would be useful to use Ok Google on my phone to control the unit.

My remote keeps disconnecting. Had to start from scratch deleting the device and adding it back again just to reconnect the remote/thermostat. Said settings ported over for AC1, but when it loads, the device is not listed anywhere. I see the other 2 Modlets (named them AC 2 and AC 3), but not AC 1. I connected it to the wifi through the app, but it's not showing up in my app as connected. So it works via the remote, but isn't listed in the app...So I can't control via the app. RIP...

Works again after I uninstalled and reinstalled the app today, 2021-06-08. I retried using the app after not using it since last summer and it kept giving me login errors. I saw someone else's review saying to uninstall and reinstall the app and this worked for me the first time. My old modlet devices show up and I can control them fine. Whew! Thanks user Deecee hung as I was about to give up on them! I uploaded your helpful review and directions. Old review: I want to save electricity and money and this app and devices work a bunch of the time and fail a bunch as well. Often the plug-in device will no longer be able to connect to the controller with the temperature sensor in it. Go through there reset instructions and it will actually work and you will actually be able to retain your settings even though it seems that you will not. Of course, it should be fixed and it shouldn't error like this.

Works pretty well, but the UI is somewhat awkward. Loses connectivity occasionally. Could use an "all on/all off" switch on the main page. Also, when doing scheduling, there should be an "every day" option, rather than having to do each day individually.

Modlets keep disconnecting and nothing short of a complete reset fixes them. The app usually can't do that and I have to start from scratch on the website. When it works, it's mostly fine, but I wish the "sign up for text messages" spam went away.

Big Improvement over last years app which was completely unreliable and required frequent logins. Thankfully I dont have any such issues with this app. The only thing that doesn't work properly for me is the Awards Points Balance. On seperate occasions it showed 2 very different values before eventually settling on ZERO (!). I had to email customer service - which took days to respond, to find out my true balance. One thing to improve would be to link to the Kw/hr rate that you actually pay..

Got the app because thinkeco gave me the free energy savers for the AC. Problem 1. SmartAC app doesn't communicate properly with the thinkeco modlet devices. Problem 2. When device is connected to the Modlet thinkeco devices it loses connection to the device once you add another device or mixes connection to interfer with first device installed. Problem 3.It suppose to be simple but since the software doesn't communicate very well with the devices it may leave you locked if you reconnect

Great app - hardware works with google home I don't know why this app gets such poor reviews. I have used for 2 years and has worked great. Hardware was free from our electric provider and it is great to have the software and wireless remote. Now with google home intrigation its even more flexable. Never thought we could window ac units to do so much.

Sometimes works. I'll set the temp and it won't save and the AC won't turn on (or off). After several tries, it might work, but that's no good if I'm out and can't tell if it turned itself on. Setting a schedule is way too complicated and clunky.

After not hearing from multiple emails and calls from support since March, when I tried to get my modlets back online, I have purchased smart wifi plugs from TP-Link to switch my 120v AC units on and off, and a Dewenwils heavy duty wifi switch to control my 220v unit (both from Amazon). While both lack a thermostat, a remote control and web control, they work flawlessly from their respective apps, and with Google home.

Have used the app for two seasons. Setup took time. Like the metrics the app provides to keep track of usage and costs. Remote functions work flawlessly for me. Agree with all previous comments about the scheduler. IMO very cumbersome to work with.

One of the worst apps I've ever used. Won't connect my 3rd modlet, and when it lost connection to my second I had to reset it, and now it can't find that one either. Also refuses to pair a remote to my second one.

The scheduling system is so convoluted and hard to use. Really not helpful at all. Just give us a "turn off at x time" feature. Adjust alreadfdy scheduled time is buggy. Defeats the whole purpose.

This app crash everyday. I have to delete and reinstall to turn on AC. It works for the time I'm in the house, but when out, it said on, but house is hot cause AC never came on. Please if any upgrades, let me know.

Seems Everyone at ThinkECO Smartac has abandoned ship & left us all to "float aimlessly at sea." Although they promised, by keeping the modlets, we'd still be able to use the device & App. Unless anyone knows different, they have misinformed us. I get an "Error," message when trying to login. I have sent numerous emails, left many phone messages with hopes I could access temperature & the smart device controls to keep my Fur-babies cool & comfortable during this "New York heat wave" . . .

It still works but it seems support is fading from designers. For the 2021 comments, you can reinstall this app and it still works. The same control features still work from the website too. My only complaint is it used to work with Google home, Now it just says Offline in Home even though this app and the website still work with all 4 of my modelets.

To Developer: Why when clicking the dropbox to schedule times it is BLANK?! It took me 2 hours just to set a schedule for my bedroom, thus discourging to set time schedule for the living room. Another issue is, the 2 hours that I took to set a time it created many others. I did NOT various, why is the "Discard" option not deleting. When prompted if I'm sure I click discard but it's all still there! I'm a PISSED OFF ConEd customer. Device R $90 EA I'll return devices if not fixed ASAP!

Nothing good about app or device. I had connection dropped multiple times. Devices got unpaired and need pairing again. I had even AC starting up on it's own without schedule being set up.
