its very nice
This app worked perfectly until the recent update. Now it does nothing. Literally nothing. It opens and allows you to configure all your settings but it no longer responds to inputs from Gps or other triggers. You broke it Moto. Update: The app was updated again to fix issues on previous update. Problems still exist and app does not respond to triggers.
I used to love this app but now it doesn't even work at all. Also it seriously drains my battery in a hurry and I can't uninstall. I miss having it when it was working. It was a real life saver by blocking unwanted calls from drunk friends at all hours of the night while still allowing important calls to still come through. Please fix ASAP. I need my sleep.
The app was working just fine until this latest update. Now, after opening the app, any time the user goes to change one of the trigger parameters the app crashes. This behavior was evident from the very first time the app was opened and continues to happen every single time a trigger parameter is changed. This was a good app until this update. To the developers: please look into this issue whereas I've reported it every time the app crashes and I'm tired of doing so.
This used to work before the last update. Now it won't let you put it on silent AND vibrate. The it turns the sound off at the right time, but when it is time for the action to finish it doesn't turn the sound back on. You have to go into your settings and manually change it. You would think someone who develops something like this would know what they are doing.
My only complaint is that I don't like that for the default sleep action, you can't set it to just vibrate. I live in a house with a lot more people than most and relatively thin walls, so I would have to be conscious of the possibility of waking everyone else up.
Motorola has a widget to disable the notification light when I need to. This widget helps when I'm sleeping because the notification light is really bright. I really badly wish I could use the SMARTACTIONS app to schedule my notification light to turn off at night then back on in the morning. Unfortunately the widget doesn't allow you to do anything other than tap it once to turn them off, and again to turn them back on. Please either add an action to disable the notification light in this app, or allow the notification light widget to be run as an app, and when run it would toggle the notification light. Then I could use the action for running an app to accomplish the same thing.
As others have said, recent updates have made this app unreliable and buggy. It just doesn't consistently work anymore and my volume gets set to loud every time a profile does turn on (even if the profile is supposed to silence the phone). Really wish Moto/Google would fix this.
App worked great at first - automatically switched to vibrate at work, then back to normal once I was about a block or two away. Now it seems to think I'm at work all the time and I'm forced to manually switch actions on and off. I also noticed battery life going down significantly, and finally just completely turned off all smart actions. I think I can deal with manually turning on vibrate and disabling wifi for the doubled battery life...
The low battery app doesn't turn the WiFi or the Bluetooth back on, even after the phone is fully charged. The sleep app doesn't do that either but also leaves the phone on silent so I can't get necessary calls at work unless I remember to do these things manually.
I used to use "Foxy Ring". Smart Actions works great for changing my ringer mode automatically, but it DOES NOT have the ability to adjust the volume of my ring tone based on the ambient noise around my phone. Foxy Ring calibrates the appropriate volume for your ringer by listening to your mic every so often (interval is configurable).
It's a good idea, but I have the ringer set to silent during a certain time frame for sleeping. I have been woken up a few times after receiving a text in the middle of the night. For some reason, it makes a sound and vibrates when i get a text and I have smart actions set to silent for that time frame. I can't figure out if I have it set wrong or not. I never tested a phone call...not even sure if that is working. Wish I had a manual.
I have smart actions set up on my Motorola phone for awhile. Everything seems to work fine. However, when I try setting up the phone to play music whenever I plug my headphone in, SA shows that i have no music playlist. Infact, I've setup different playlists and they can be accessed by different music players.
I use this to automatically set my phone to vibrate, and to turn off WiFi and Bluetooth while at work 5 days a week. It's a good idea to set a separate background in the action so you know when it's on(when I get off work early I always forget to turn WiFi back on). I'd like to see them add a function to turn down your media volume, I play games at work and forget to turn down the volume.
BUGS BUGS BUGS! Lacks some features that make your experience more personalized. The app generally does a good job. However, the data restriction thing is unclear and makes the phone sync SIM forever (infinite loop) if you turn airplane mode on on the same trigger. The only way to fix this is to restart your phone, which is a pain
Goods based settings, like for work and home constantly turn on and off throughout the day. While sorting at work wifi will turn off and back on, killing any current download our streaming. Sometimes wifi just turns off until I manually change it. So GPS based triggers need work. The car dock based triggers work just fine and it's nice to set auto replies to texts and control Bluetooth.
I can't edit anything anymore, it only force closes, I believe the cause of this was the "up"date, to be honest it was more of a downgrade then anything. I will be happy to give this more stars, once its fixed, oh and also, yeah I feel like this app might actually be draining my battery instead...should seriously look into that.
I know this app nothing to do with what I'm about to say but Motorola made this app and my phone so yeah. I live in England and I heard that America has got jelly bean for my phone this isn't fair its favouritism. I'm 12 and This phone is the only thing i have that's mine please let me update my phone to jelly bean. And now its saying Motorola droid RAZR for an older version even though i updated it to ICS. Please give me an update
I loved the idea of my phone turning volume down itself when I was at work and then turn back up at home. And although it sometimes changes the volume lower at work, it doesn't ever change it back to loud when I get home. And it NEVER changes the notification sounds, just the phone ringer. Doesn't help when I mostly get texts not phone calls.
On the drive app I have it set so when someone sends me a text they get a text back saying I'm driving right now. Only the text goes straight through and the person doesn't get a text back. If I set it for phone calls then the person calling gets the text back. Thus, this software needs to be fixed and I would give it 5 stars!
I am having problems with this app. I have it set up so the phone goes on silent (and it does great) except when important people call.. it issue is when the important people call the phone stays on silent (still rings great, but it doesn't ring loud like its supposed to) scratch wireless Motorola proton Q
I like the versatile options being able to customize your battery power settings and phone functions to best fit you. Thus app makes your phone completely customisable to do specific functions at specific times. My only complaint is that the battery saver action kills completely everything when you select the highest kill setting. My 3G signal won't even work. With this minor fix, this app gets 5 starts
Still doesn't work for my RAZR Maxx after the update 2/2/13: app still doesn't work. Any time I try to change anything in the actions it crashes. This app would be so helpful if it worked 4/14/13: app still hasn't fixed the force closing issue after making any edits. Frustrating that I can't use this app
GPS is unreliable. It will think "home" is 10 miles away and will drain your battery life keeping wifi on in the streets or max your volume in movie theaters and during test at school. Unless you are too lazy to simply go to settings to adjust your brightness or volume, this app isnt worth your time.
