It took me 5 minutes to setup. I have an old phone running this as a DLNA server. Roku and tablets play music and videos from it without issues. UI is clean and everything works.
Ssdp discovered, but avtransporturi setup does not work, seems like wrong protocol implementation.
I was searching for an app to share custom folder with my smart tv and I easily did it with SmartDlna! But it has translation problem. One of my device's interface is in Russian but I see this app menu in Chinese. Good that my main device set to English and here I get English menus.
I recommend this application strongly. I primarily use this to stream the video's and songs on my mobile phone to my TV (Sony Bravia Smart TV) and to Volumio running on Raspberry Pi. I used some 10 different apps and finally settled on Smart DLNA. It does everything I need without the hassles..nags..ads etc. I just hope they keep the app this way forever...
It is really full featured and allows to create a folder (ln lnt memory, Ext SD, USB) as a server which is seen directly with its name on other devices. Just select server, file to play.
Works amazing!!! This was my last effort after trying about 30 other apps i came accros this and my samsung tv saw the dlna content first time every time from my phone. Only one issue: it does not display thumbnails.
Crashes and slows down mobile directly after running. Not welcome
fails on install, don't bother even downloading.
Waste of time.
But did not find mp3 on my dlna server just says empty
Best DLNA player I witnessed on here!
It works on ps3
Keeps crashing endlessly.
adds adds and more adds , DON'T GET THIS , Very -----ANOYING
Is this app really DLNA certified? It can't even find music from WD MyCloud server.
My XBMC server showed up in its browser but it kept getting errors when I tried to access it and after hitting the reload button a few times to get it to try again, the app force closed. Useless!
Gave up
Files are not sorted into folders
Finally turned my old droid 4 running CM12 into a wireless media receiver from my galaxy S3 running the liquid smooth rom. This one works as advertised when other apps failed miserably - even paid apps. Thanks for your efforts, devs. Super job on this one. Streaming sound cloud right now via BubbleUPnP... Life is good. Don't think I'll ever give up an old phone again.
