SmartHalo

It works great most of the time. There are some glitches and glaring omissions. The quick touch functions don't seem to want to change even when you tell the app to change them. Also there are many features missing from quick touch that the developer should have added, like the ability to quickly switch to speed or calorie display. Finally I would like to see the ability to restart the device from the app. Currently the only way to reset is to plug it in to a USB power source.

For the most part it works pretty well. Some glitchy behavior that I can live with now and then. But the thing that drives me absolutely insane is the lack of an ON/OFF feature. Whenever I'm at the back half of my house, I get a notification that my phone connected to the SmartHalo sitting in my detached garage as it slowly drains its battery while waiting to be used. Why? Why can't I turn it off? Please!! You can't expect me to turn off bluetooth on my phone all day and forfeit the use of my headphones, connectivity to my PC, etc. Let me turn the damn SmartHalo off so it's not wasting battery when it's not being used. I'll give you 5 stars as soon as this basic feature is added. Thank you!

Ordered the Smarthalo2 through Kickstarter. Pretty disappointed with the result. It's pretty bulking and looks cheap. The notifications are useless. The most it'll do is tell you that you have a message but not even who it is from. I wish it would switch to show me the speed during the ride easily. Touch ring interface doesn't work very well either. The navigation works okay. Overall I'm disappointed.

I bought the SmartHalo primarily for the anti-theft alarm. When triggered the alarm is relatively quiet for a few seconds before it gets loud. It knows when you are nearby because the bluetooth linking between the device and your phone. I can also set a passcode (to tap on the device when my phone is not around) and a sensitivity. That's ideal because I've forgotten to disable it a few times before I started moving and saved myself some embarrassment.

Great for bike commuting!!! There should also be a tap command for the fitness controls. All the features can be controlled by tapping except the fitness controls, for example turn on/off or switch to distance or speed display. Update: Started using this to record my rides on strava. There should be a way to consolidate the rides as it uploads to strava. Everytime I stop for 3-5 mins for whatever reason, a new ride log is created ending with so many ride logs in strava for a single riding trip.

major bug - can't switch languages and since I live in Quebec, it automatically displays help items in English. i tried to send an email to support through the app but couldn't get past Captcha (there was no info supplied for me to enter a code or word!). not the greatest experience and I've only just downloaded it.

It wasn't perfect but it was working. Sadly the company has closed due to the effect on the economy from this pandemic. Can't log-in, can't navigate, can't do anything with the device no sadly. It's basically an oversized bike light now. Hopefully you caught the eye of some big players and they copy you (but don't close down).

Connection is okay. Support is non-existent. Hardware is sometimes buggy. Recent updates have helped with connectivity. I had issues with the anti theft mount and the Halo key. My chassis started cracking and I contacted support in September. Still haven't heard anything despite a request for follow up at the one month mark. 11/16/21 company pulled support. Product is essentially worthless. The app doesn't load.

Constantly disconnects. Have been advised of a workaround that's a pain to have to do and there are apparently no plans for a proper fix. Also a safety issue as the light will turn off while riding if the device disconnects while riding.

UX/UI: is quite good - simple, yet functional. Navigation took me a while to put in action on my Android phone: I had to disable "power saving mode", then it worked :-) HW: torx screw heads were not fully covered under the SmartHalo2 main unit - security weakness! Using the supplied L-shaped torx key, I can actually disassemble the unit even the alarm is ON. You need simply patience and non vibrating hands. If the bike is parked next to a river or lake, you can quickly throw it into water...

App won't permit sign up, and the device can't be used without the sign up. The website is down, the app isn't working, and I've apparently got a very expensive paperweight. Looks as though they've run away with the money.

Hi got my smarthalo as a Xmas present off the misses. But the app not working error message when trying to create an account. Tried to contact customer service no reply. Is this company still going or has it closed. Or is it am not in Canada or the USA. Manchester uk

Great for the daily cyclist. I use it for bike delivery. It disconnects randomly when I'm away from it. But I have to re-download it every other day because the app wont open at all.

Navigation doesn't work and always gives an error code. Unable to stop automatically connecting. App difficult to use.

It's a great app but is it missing something that it used to have? I don't know if it's a recent update that affected the app but I am missing the "set speed goal" in the fitness settings. I used to have the app goal set to 50km/h max. speed but it's gone now... Any solutions?

I download this app, and I can't even make a account. That means there is no way to log in and this app is not functioning. The company should fix the problem or bug in this app. It's not even worth a 1 star, it should be zero star.

Since the last update, my Samsung s7 edge keeps reporting the app as draining my battery and wants me to put it to sleep. If I do that then my smarthalo does not detect my presence anymore until I reopen the app.

Extremely buggy, stops working mid trip and I have to stop several times to restart it. Really annoying. Disappointed.

This business had shut down. Nothing will work because they turned off the back end servers. You now have a nice momento to kick starter success and failures.

Smarthalo app login password isn't working, I have a standard password and till last month it was working, now getting an error"login id and password combination is invalid"... Not even getting an email when I use "forgot password" option.... and unfortunately No response from the halo team... Without login device is useless.... Disappointed

Smarthalo and Smarthalo app don't work because you cannot login anymore, username and password are not accepted anymore. Local account is not possible. So my Smarthalo is useless. Please make the app accessible with a local account not depending on Smarthalo cloud servers.

Before completely abandoning the supporters of Smarthalo 2 (due to company closure), please release the documentation on communication protocols used between the app and the device. This way you wouldn't leave the community completely high and dry...

It is a very Good technology but it is no new features. Please set a new feature. U can set a auto sleeping technology, I 10 buy this please set the future.

I just wanted to get a glimpse of all supported functions to decide wether I should sign up for a smart halo 2. Instead you have to create an account right away with all personal information and don't get any idea whats possible with this device. That's a no-go for me.

Horrible experience. I haven't been able to log into my account. I can't open a new account. I deleted and reinstalled my app. No website to find customer service. I'm ready to just throw it away. Can someone tell me how to use my smart halo?

Sadly unable to log into mine now and it won't send me a link to reset my password so useless now

Registration doesn't work. Web site is not working. Host error etc.
