SmartLights

I am not sure if it is the apps fault or the fault of the bluetooth connection but my control of the lights are spotty. Galaxy S8. In order to change settings in the app, I have to restart my phone. Then I get about 1 min in the app before it freezes up an I have to reset. Also the bluetooth range is very short. I have to stand out in the cold, close to the light to control it. However it does remember what the last setting was so once I set it I can turn it on and off using a timer.

Did what other successful people did. I plugged all of them in at once in the house. At first I couldn't get them to work they were just stuck in a solid light state, but then I realized that the app controls so many different types made by the company that I had to scroll over to "snowflurry" because that was the type of lights I purchased. Once I realized what I was doing wrong they work so well! OMG I love them! I even tested to see what would happen if the power were to shut off and come back on, they stay in the last selected light mode you choose and come right back on! Can't wait until it gets dark to position them outside!

installed the app, plugged in the lights, turned my bluetooth on, it works. I had no problem getting this to work. I have lost my bluetooth connection with the lights, I unplugged the lights and it was good to go. I wish there were options to have complete control of the colors, but there are enough set options to be satisfied with. The lights will stay programmed with the last sent program from your phone. yes, you can turn off your phone and the lights do what you last told them to do.

Have had for two years. Have two sets connected. One activates. The other remains red in the app, so unable to control. Have reset multiple times and uninstalled and reinstalled app. The few moments the both worked was cool. Wouldn't be an issue if the app wasn't the only way to control them. Why is this such a difficult thing to fix?

app is fine. this review focuses on the hardware. It is not a low voltage system. It uses and distributes 120 v thru the string if you have more than one string. it is dangerous to do so especially in wet weather. After a brief rain the GFCI device tripped due to leaking current. The LEDs themselves are not bright enough for typical landscaping applications. There is no ability to time them without having to add a third party device. I had to go outside walk to system within 20ft.

Absolutely horrible! Bought 4 sets. Nowhere does it say which app is needed to be downloaded. After figuring that out got them home and right out of the box not 1 set is found in the app. The app constantly freezes and crashes. Tries the app on 2 different Note 8s, a galaxy J7 and an iPad all with no luck. Even tried factory resetting the lights per instructions and they didnt even go into reset mode. Promptly returned to the store.

So unhappy with the recent app updates. My lights haven't worked since these updates started. Been fine for years now stuck on the horrible Christmas lightshow setting. Lights shows in bluetooth on my phone but the app, at most, sees only 1 string (they are connected to each other) and that goes in and out. Thanks for making over $200 worth of lights useless.

This app would be so neat if it worked right. It is so slow. It will not connect to the lights. Once we put them outside. They are outside lights. I kept trying to reconnect by resetting my phone but it just didn't work. I uninstalled it and then reinstalled it. It will not work. This app is not very good it needs to be fixed. 😡

I have the Kaleidoscope light. The app is great for changing the modes and turning the light on and off. The problem is it will do one operation and then becomes unresponsive. The arduous work around is to delete and reinstall the app. Twice a day. Every. Day.

Works but it's very difficult to control due to the 10 movement delay on the app. You scroll up or down to make a selection and it takes several seconds for the app to react making very difficult to select what you want. Light work as they should.

Works, but barely. The headache of having to scroll through all of the lights I DONT OWN in order to find the only one that I do is very annoying. And the inability to perform more than very simple color and pattern combinations is a downside too. Needs work.

This is the most useless and horrible app that is only wasting your time, freezes your phone and crashes. It doesn't do anything else. It only makes your new $120 smartlight megaprojector unusable. Stay as far away as you can from this "product"

Bought 3 sets of icicles and because of all the negative reviews, decided to hook them up in the house before I hung them outside. Connected to my Motorola immediately! Very simple installation, easy to understand instructions and they worked like a charm right out of the box! I did take the time to read all the literature first... maybe that's why I had such good luck with them. They're outside as I write this, merrily twinkling away! I love them and will purchase more. Excellent product!

I bought the LED light show smart lights last Christmas. They worked great the first year, but this year, I couldn't get the app to work to control the lights. I keep trying to reset them, but nothing happens. Absolute junk now. Waste of money and the app is junk.

Horrible. I have two lights. Takes several minutes and will only connect to one light. Used to work great. Updates don't help. Resetting the phone and toggling the bluetooth doesn't cut it. Have to manually go outside and unplug the lights.

My app no longer sees my string lights. Have tried taking to factory reset as per manual....uninstalled and reinstalled app NOTHING!!! 5 STRINGS THAT ARE USELESS RIGHT NOW! 😠 Update...10/13 my lights are working better than ever. So glad someone has addressed the problem

Beautiful colors, nice Bluetooth control of many different colors and functions. Flawless app, no glitches, no problems. Worked right out of the box. Delightful!

Not easy to use. Unable to get the change of lights to do any action other than the basic mode when you first start. I have updated passwords and then reset light several times.

WORTHLESS APP!!! It won't connect to my lights, even after resetting them. Wanted to change them for Halloween and now I can't! So I'll have rainbow lights for Halloween! FIX YOUR APP THESE LIGHTS WEREN'T CHEAP FOR THEM TO NOT BLOODY WORK.

I love these lights. After using them for a year, I suddenly had an issue with the app working properly with my phone. I notified the developers and the fixed the issue.

App doesn't see lights so you can't control them even after resetting lights per manual. But the phone shows the lights in the Bluetooth list. Fix this app ASAP!

Deserves zero stars but doesn't offer that option. Tried to install this app, says its 100% downloaded & installed and yet I can not locate the app icon. Even did a search on my phone for the app & found nothing. Product going back to the store. Don't waste your time or money on this junk.

This app is complete garbage. It is the only way to control the lights and it just keeps crashing and stopping. Lights are on the way to the garbage.

Just ok. Alittle awkward to use, but does the job. Hard to get good connection without standing close by.

Can't connect after update, literally hundreds of dollars in lights that can only do the basic Christmas show when you reset them. Total waste of money for the lights.

I cannot get the blutooth to connect to the string lights. This is after i unplugged the lights 4 times and it reset to white lights then christmas show. And the password will not update.

This app doesn't even deserve a one worst thing I've ever bought product wise and worse App I've ever seen I can't even connect the lights even though they're connected an hour ago
