I've been using my scale/app for at least 6 years. I just used this app at the end of 2019. I haven't had access to my scale due to me moving. Imagine how dissapointed I was to finally get it back and not be able to document/access my data. I'm still using a Galaxy S8. I'm not sure if it stopped working after I reset my phone or after I just downloaded an update. If I wanted a regular plane Jane scale, I would have bought one.
App is no longer working on Android 9.0. it was always working but buggy but now it's not even getting past a load screen with the silhouette of a man in front of an orange sunset background. App is version 2.0.9 and I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it twice with no success including cache and data delete. Edit:. Tried again 5/13. No luck. Galaxy Note 8. Same phone as before.
Well I have used this app six or seven years and I just got back to installing it into my new phoneand come to find out it doesn't even work anymore and all my history and information is gone. It just stays on the front screen and doesn't do anything now. With no explanation. Which is too bad because I bought these scales so it would work with the Bluetooth on my phone and I could keep up with my weight loss journey.
Accurate for weight but not for est advertised (BMI etc.) Havent been able to get past the first clscreen for about a month now so that's frustrating. Would only record a new weight if I first turn off my phones bluetooth, then stood on the scale and when it's done weighing then I can turn bluetooth back on. Have re started it and deleted and re installed the app multiple times... still the same thing. Had some other guys info on it when I got it from the store... that should have been a hint.
Garbage. Used to work ok. Still on Android 9 Note 8 but as of last OS update doesn't even load anymore, so worthless bluetooth scale if I cant sync up. Recently when it was working it wouldn't integrate anymore with MyFitnessPal. I contacted Taylor support and they said the app developer went out of business and not to expect that to work. Now I have a useless bluetooth scale that I can't connect to my phone.
*UPDATE* I'm now having sync issues too. I have been having I had a lot of difficulty getting the android app to allow me to register on my stock Galaxy S10. The buttons on the Agreement page were not active. Support was not helpful. They told me that it did work and that I should just keep pressing the button until it clicks. I wad only able to register by getting the app on my iPad. After I was registered, I was able to login via the Android app.
Doesn't work on Android 10. I used to love this app and the scale it went to. After moving and trying to use the app and scale again, the app informed me it was made for an older version of Android. I see the app was last updated in August 2018. I'm not getting another smart scale if this is what happens.
False advertising on the box suggests that it connects with MyFitnessPal. Apparently it stopped working with MFP back in 2015 and after multiple attempts by MFP to get the folks at Taylor Precision Products to work cooperatively with them, they gave up. Seems TPP don't really care that their products (the app as well as the Smart Scale with Bluetooth 4.0 Technology I just wasted money on) doesn't work with MFP -- yet they still continue to advertise that they do. Seems they haven't supported this app (nor the aforementioned scales) since 2016. I can't even find the scales on their company website. I'll never buy another product from them again.
Update 5/25/20 still no word from developer or app updates. Scale doesn't matter without the app. And now both don't work. 2/2019 all of a sudden it is no longer working. just goes to the loading page where it says "Taylor, homedics, Bowflex" and doesn't go past that... had been using it for almost a year no issues.
Used to be a good scale/application combo. This app is now been discontinued, abruptly and without warning/announcement (even on here). So to spare others from having to contact customer service and wait for a response. "The scale will continue to function as normal but the app itself has been discontinued Since January of 2020 and is no longer receiving updates, therefore will not be compatible with newer versions of IOS/Android." Make your future product choices wisely as they don't appear to be providing this feature in the future where other manufacturers are providing this as a standard feature. I know I will be, there are many other scales that will provide a better customer service and long term support of a "should be" standard feature.
UPDATE: DON'T BUY TAYLOR SCALES - THEY DON'T CARE! Dear Glen, Thank you for contacting Taylor! We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. The scale will continue to function as normal but app itself has been discontinued and is no longer receiving updates, therefore will not be compatible with new versions of IOS/Android. We sincere ____ My orig. eval: The app won't even start past the splash screen any more on: my Note 8, running Android 9 (Pie). It worked reliably up until December, '19.
The app has to be resynchronized with my Taylor Scale every 4 to 6 weeks, which is a pain but the app itself won't even open for the past week. I've uninstalled, rebooted my phone, and reinstalled the app twice with no success. VERY agitated!!!!!!!!!
Doesn't work anymore. I haven't used the app in 2 months and just went to open it. My phone told me the app was created for an older version of android and may no longer work so check for an update. This app doesn't have any current updates so apparently they're behind. If the maker upgrades the app to the newest android version (so it'll work again), then I would rate it a 5.
Paid a bit more to get the smart scale. Very excited to sync scale to my phone. Ok downloaded the app, next asked to get register. Stuck on agreement and policy page will not let me move to the next procedure. No point of getting the smart scale if the app will not support.
Stopped functioning 3 weeks ago, called Taylor customer support, App is being discontinued, Smart scale is just a scale now, and they're not providing a way to get your data out (breaking GDPR by the by). They are sending a new scale (with a new app) gratis to make up for it. But that doesn't get me 2 years of my data back, or make up for the no-notice decommissioning without any update to their marketing materials regarding this App or product.
After installing the app, setting up an account, I never can connect it to the scale simply because the app button for connecting will never work. Tried to press it for many times, not responding at all. Weird!
App synced with my scale and MyFitnessPal for one week. Then NEVER again. I've had the scale and the app for a year. I've tried dozens of troubleshoots. The app simply does not sync.
"Made for a previous version of Android"? That's what it tells me when I open it. When it had just quit working on my phone earlier this year, I emailed the support address, because I would have liked to have my data somewhere. Not even an auto-ack. I get they have no winning move here. And I bet they know we the unsupported are going to avoid their products now.
The sync worked for a short time, now doesn't with the operating system update. I don't expect this will ever be a smart scale again with the lack of support from Taylor.
After years of barely working, It stopped working months ago and still doesn't work on the Samsung S10+. Does anyone know how to extract data? App doesn't even open!
I have used this app for years and now it has stopped working completely. It just stays on the startup screen. I have two scales that are useless now. Will there be a fix or update for this anytime soon?
Stopped working with my S10 after Android 10 update. Doesn't look like I'll see a fix. Now it doesn't work on Android 9.0 and the company does not plan to update it either. Another company added to the do not buy list.
Was good then stopped working. Developer informed they no longer support this app and you can still use the scale. Who cares about the scale without the app. I can use any scale just to get ny weight. Ppphhhttt. Garbage.
Used to be a 3 or 4 star app - sometimes it wouldn't work and I'd have to force close then open again and try to sync the data. But at least it kind of sometimes worked and I could access my data. Now I can't see any of it or update. So frustrating to buy a scale and suddenly lose support. Was a great scale until it lost its "Smarts"
