I use it in conjunction with Waze. Must review route prior to using it. Have had the route not go to the business, but a road near it instead, including once trying to have me go off the shoulder of a freeway because the building was closer to the freeway than the road the address was on. Even though it uses Google maps it still routes you through roads that are closed due to construction. I use it to get an idea what the truck route is by my destination, then use Waze to get there.
Great app. Always does right by me, never failed in 2 years of OTR. HIGHLY recommend. Wish it would allow for more selection of different routes to take rather than just 2. To just take part of 1 route and part of the other would be great also.
My subscription was originally canceled BY YOU and then you reactivated it BEFORE I could get my refund- like you told me to do. You told me to send the refund req, and I did, but before it could be processed- you reactivated my acct and the refund was denied bc the acct was active. -CANCEL MY ACCT LIKE YOU DID THE FIRST TIME AND LET THE REFUND REQ GO THROUGH- I AM NOT USING THE ACCOUNT/APP AT ALL! When i used it before, It was to confirm whether or not it would work because of all the BS.
This has been my go to GPS for two years. Overall I really think it's one of the best there is. I finally found the weak spot for this app though. For some reason in El Paso Texas this app is basically unusable. It will try to take you on non existing streets thru residential areas. I had problems with both my delivery directions and the directions to my shipper the next day.
Good 👍 app for 53 foot tractor trailer. Could announce which way to turn when coming to a fork on the freeway. Also watch for some tight turns in small towns. It keeps you away from low bridges. Overall Good navigation for truck drivers 👌
I've been using this app since September 2019. I have over 330k miles on this app and been through quite a few updates and keeps on getting better every time. I don't use the satellite view while navigating because it uses too much data. I use the satellite just when I enter an address so I can get a general idea or the area I'm going to. This app has been on point every destination I have gone to. It's the best $62 I spend every year.
This truck GPS works Good at times but it has some very bad glitches in it you can be going down the interstate and it will tell you to exit off for just to get right back on the same interstate this has happened to me numerous of times,it will also take you Roads where Trucks do Not belong, 50 even tried to take me through residential areas numbers of times I have contact if y'all about this situation but it has not did any good,Please fix these things i'm about to give up on this App
No truck GPS is perfect but this is my main one! I was using smart truck route 1 then switched to 2 when it was released. I was saving my points to get a Rand and a Garmin because I didnt want to pay for one out of pocket and was paying a monthly subscription for the smart truck route app before I switched to the 3 year subscription. Long story short its worth the money and I been using the up since its release date. I'm going to do a YouTube video comparing the 3 and to me STR2 is the best!
2nd year using this app. I drive Chicago everyday. I trust this app alot. Very smooth running. Never has let me down yet.
I normally do not give out my opinion. I have used this app in major city and it works out fine but I am now Working in the country. This app has taken me on routes where trucks are not allowed.
This app is one of the best navigation apps for truckers out there. It has saved me countless times, I wished I had discovered it earlier. Whoever created this app, I say great job.
OK I love app! But don't take routing seriously without checking laws. App thinks hwy 139 n of Susanville CA is legal. Also the short cut to 395 b4 Susanville. So great app as long as you double check the routes.
Keeps sending out of route when put a route request in. Example Little America WY to Denver CO. Trys to send North away from I-80 then back on to it 100 miles east instead of just staying on I-80. Does it alot.
I've owned this app for about 9 months now...app is decent...However, I do have a few gripes with this app...one being the inability to trash a route...second gripe the app always like to send me miles down the road to do a u-turn when I can just pull out and make a left or right...third gripe the app doesn't give all truck stops and parking on a given route like it should...if this was a free app...I wouldn't complain. For that I can't give 5 stars
Good app , I have used this app for 3-4 year , love it , never have any problems with the bridges, love there speed warning system (its their highlight),very good that includes info about the gass stations, love their system avoiding the marked points and offering the alternative roads, STILL NEED TO WORK about the info of weight station STATUS, correct entrances, and rotation of the mobile phone upside down when you are charging the phone ,THANK YOU
The app works fine for the most part, but when you multi-task and the app is working in the background, you can't come back to it, the app stalls and freezes and exit and restart the app. Please fix!
Works for me, Great support staff Would be nice if it auto-rerouted when you miss a turn. Beware of low clearance LANES on your route. Sometimes you have to be in a certain lane for height clearance. However support said they would try to improve warnings for that!
The app has improved quite a lot since I bought it. Still has things that have to be addressed: two labels on the same truck stop, most truck stops are announced two or even three times ex: " two truck stop detected " or " three truck stop detected " when, in fact, is only one.
I been using Smart Truck Route for three years. It is always dependable and has awesome assistance features that I use frequently to assist me and everything thing in this GPS app is accurate. I love my Smart Truck Route. 2!!!
Thx to the programer that added the mute button. i have another issue but cant type it yet because I am driving Hey, I used to be able to put Wal-Mart and the store number in my search bar, then I'd zoom over it with your Google earth view to find truck entrance. I hate my job and your app, in which I paid for a year of, is ruining my qol even more. Will delete this paragraph when fixed...
I think this is a great app! It's not perfect, some functions could be easier to get to. However, once you learn the way to access these functions it becomes second nature. I want to say it's been atleast 2 years using this app and they are always updating and improving. Better in NYC than Rand too. Much easier to shape routes that you're familiar with too. I'm also using on an old tablet. I have used on newer phones and found the experience to be even better.
I've had this app for 4 years. it has been great. in my experience it has been more accurate and at a better price than a traditional truck GPS. I do recommend using satellite view, there are occasions that it only gets you close to destination (few hundred yards off at most) then cuts across grass to destination. usually, this is not an issue because the driveway is in sight, but in 4 years I've had only 2 instances where the route was obstructed or the destination was on the next road over
Best truck navigation app out there and I've tried them all. Better than the dedicated hardware units from Rand McNally and Garmin. That said, there's room for improvement. Voice navigation is either too much or too little that you can miss your exit because it waits to the last second to tell you. I wish it followed Google Maps' implementation of voice navigation. It's neither too little nor too much. That's my biggest complaint, but there are other minor improvements that could be made.
I like the app, I just wish that the exit and miles left shown in upper left hand corner were a bit bigger... I use the app on my phone, but even sideways view, its a bit difficult to make out the exit/street name and miles left. Also, ran into a bug on the app, while trying to take off a stop along the route, it wouldn't come off, I had to type in another address and then reset. What would be amazing is a compass on the screen showing what direction the truck is going in.
This is a nice app overlay for Google maps, but don't trust it for avoiding truck restricted areas. Twice it tried to navigate me through weight and length restricted areas that my Garmin 770 warned me of in advance, one would have been a $2500 fine. No navigation is perfect and you have to use your experience and smarts. I prefer using my Garmin and Google maps together. Not sure if I'm willing to shell out the extra money for this one. For the most part it worked well. Paid for 1 month to see.
I have it set at "quickest" (which is the default.) Even though I've been on these highways for over 15yrs, I'm just coming back out on the road after a 5 year break and I see how technology has enhanced OTR driving. You have a good app, but it is not reliable for 18 wheelers to use the routes that your app gives to get from the highway going directly through the city. Trust me, tight turns and operating heavy equipment doesn't mix. City driving isn't designed for heavy trucks unless there is no other alternative to get in there. Tech support are 5 stars! They are on it.
I have had this app for a few years. It doesn't show construction zones so of course no navigation around them. If you get off route or make a wrong turn it will reroute you even through residential areas. I have to use my Google map in conjunction with this app so I can see where there are construction zones. Time for a change
