The app keeps making me put in the serial number every time I open it. It doesn't seem to remember the serial number or that I've scanned the code. Update: Thanks to SmartTub support for reaching out and contacting me. The problem has resolved itself and I no longer need to enter my code when I use the app. Tech support suggested that the lapse in synchronization occurred while the system was finding initial connection to the cell tower in my area.
App only works about 10% off the time. Most of the time my hot tub is "off line." Very frustrating. One of the reasons I liked the app was that I could dim the lights (can't on hot tub controls). I get my first year free but I don't think I'll be renewing if they can't fix the connection between the hot tub and the app.
Come on Jacuzzi, make this thing WIFI enabled. Just spent 17k on a hot tub and this damn smarttub POS needs a booster now in order to connect.
It's not immensely extra terrific in functionality, but it does provide basic access when you're not physically at the spa. Such as when you want to run the jets after adding chemicals. It would be awesome if some jet1/2/blower routines could be defined..with different things going on and timed pauses for a custom experience.
Sort of works, but the UI is incredibly frustrating. Requires login every time you launch the app... And the back button doesn't function properly so exits the app... Forcing you to login again. Add to that the layout isn't super intuitive and it overall leads to a poor experience. I'd use another app if that was an option.
Good information provided. would like to see them improve stability of the app...it does not always connect properly to the tub. sometimes the temperature is not updated properly. trying to reset # of days water counter and i cannot...also telling me i do not have a dealer on file. not as clean as it should be...given the fact that this module ia an expensive addon and we pay for the service.
It's ridiculous you pay $12k for a hot tub and this "smart" feature won't connect to your wifi to be locally managed. Before I added the "smart" feature I specifically asked my salesperson if it required any sort of subscription. The answer was a solid "No." Surprise surprise...
Really buggy. Keeps saying I'm not connected to the internet. Lots of error messages when trying to adjust settings. Really unreliable. Tried emailing support but never got a response.
A bit of a lag between app commands and them taking effect, sometimes they don't take effect so it makes me nervous if they have or not. Very good idea and very useful. If you made it more stable, 5 stars.
Informative enough and works fine but I wish it also supports WiFi. I get that they want ro charge for service and I ave no problems with that for the price. But cell network is very weak where the spa is inatalled therefore sometimes I can not connect to it. If it would also support wifi rhat would be just amazing!
The app could defenitly use a few more tweaks. And the way its options are made available could also improve. I find the possibility of using such a tool fun and useful but the app lacks persona. It constantly logs out thus the notifications arnt available.. It is winter and if power goes out while I'm away I wouldn't know.. 🤷♂️🤦♂️
No issues, works with Alexa. As lazy as it seems, I like turning my hot tub on with my voice. I would like to see them add a feature where I can pick the colors of the changing light feature.
App is slow, and frequently fails "Device server is not responding." We're in a good cellular area and app says the connection is strong. Would strongly prefer it offered a wifi option. Do not plan to renew service when free year expires.
Temperature settings don't work and throws null ref exception every 5 seconds about evaluating t.payload.water.temperature. Jet on/off sometimes works opposite shows on when keys are actually off. Also does not let me reset filter timers so that feature is useless. Good ideas, super poor execution.
So far works well, sends alerts to my email when there is an alarm, would like it to send more alerts to the phone from the app as well. Otherwise works great and as advertised.
If I could give no stars I would. Have had my spa since the end of June and the app has not worked once. Tells me tub is off-line and to contact support. I used the email address provided by the app. Today, 1 August, I finally got a response saying 'sorry it took so long to reply, but as you are outside the U.S. we can't help you. ' The app is useless, as is the service for it. No way I would ever pay for it and I have deleted it. Pretty poor for Jacuzzi.
Run into a concerning issue with the latest version 5.0.2 of SmartTub. The temperature lock is not on the Manage screen anymore. Only the spa lock is visible now. My temperature lock is on and there is no way to turn it off to change the settings. This has to be resolved on the next version.
Worked well for 8 or so months. Now it falsely states my spa water is way too high, right now it is saying it is 253° when my actual control panel says 100°. So this causes my spa to shut down and says to call for service. Pretty ridiculous that it overrides the actual panel. Won't/can't use it until it is fixed, as I don't want to be caught unable to treat/cycle the water.... Should be able to override.
Pretty bad iOS cloned app that does work like a "normal" Android app. It does what it says it does but don't touch the back button or expect it to follow normal Android conventions. It's clearly an iOS port. The UI just behaves weird on Android.
The entire Jacuzzi experience has been a nightmare. The Smarttub works maybe 5% of the time. Now I am told I need a "booster" which is not free, and there will be an installation fee. Will it work then? I don't know. You get one year subscription to Smarttub system for free, then there is a monthly fee of around $2. Fours months into it and it's still not resolved. I'm told by tech service to call the dealer. I call the dealer, and he has no idea what I am talking about. Service and support is a joke. I will NEVER buy a Jacuzzi again.
Ok app, but requires you to login again every time you open it. Also, it would be nice if you could set a schedule to operate the hot tub or set the temperature.
Hasn't worked since I got the tub. s Seems to be some poor Communications between the company. I emailed them two times before they ever responded. I travel a lot so it's hard for me to respond back and give them some of the information they were looking for. But I have email Sandra three times now with the information she requested and I'm still not getting any response back from the company. They said something about that I may need an extended antenna for it to work.
Great investment the functions are necessary. Alerts for all types issues. Better to now then lose my investment. Check on my spa were ever I go. Great product.
Update 15 Mar 22. Below is my original review. After a year goes from 5 star to 1 star. Cannot state whether it still works as it now states I need to pay an annual subscription fee if I wish to continue using it after a year. Basic but functions as stated and makes things convenient. Was not sure if I had turned the internal lights off one time. Rather than going back outside and lifting the cover I checked the app and sure enough they were still on so turned them off!
