It took several attempts to set up, only for the app to be updated when I had finally got it working. The settings in the app are not very well explained and are slightly different to those shown in the user guide. Other settings on the phone may need changing in order to receive notifications when the phone is sleeping. Once you get it working correctly it is a good app.

After 2 years of ownership in the UK, the problems with this camera are as follows: Multiple false movement allerts (so bad I switched them off); Unable to communicate with a caller, especially when away from home, and no picture to identify which playback you want to watch (so you have to guess a time window & date & then select from a long unidentifiable list). In other words it doesn't work as described. The UK technical support guys though are excellent, but they can't help the product.

It almost works, you get a bing 10s after the bell is pressed but the app doesn't launch unless you do it manually, by which time the caller has left. Update. It works better with an upgraded broadband connection, but still a bit flaky, completely unintuitive settings and hyper sensitive motion detection. I won't be buying one for anyone else. Also you can remove the camera without tools

The app installs with the wrong setting for Background task clear, so appears to fail. The app is not intuitive, and some features have clearly not been tested. I would assume that this is a port from ios. Edit. Since upgrading to Android 10, this app does not work with the bell. DO NOT buy this hardware or app. It is a waste of money. So unimpressed that I am sourcing something else. It is a waste of time and money.

This is a very good Bell system. I had issues on trying to connect with my WiFi. So I phoned Byron themselves The service was fantastic . May I say that it would help if the reset button was rather than in the back somewhere more accessible. Wiring the unit is quite intragate they advise you to connect and test before completing installation. This is not easy due to very small wiring. . As after installation I had to remove again to get to the back to access the resetting button.

This would be better if it had schedule notifications on the detection area. can it be added to the the next update, pain in the rear when the sun comes out and then back in, record notifications of 206 in a day. It would be better if you could turn off notifications and still receive doorbell ringing. Not a very useful doorbell without notifications.

Installation & setup instructions are not intuitive and if you are not technically minded then you will struggle. The build quality & reproduction of the camera is very good indeed but the performance is unfortunately marred by the long delay in receiving camera notifications due to inadequate Wi-Fi speeds. For it to achieve its full potential it really needs to be hard wired by Ethernet direct to a router.

Very poor app, returned the DIC23112UK doorbell for a refund as a result. On Samsung S7/S9 I had to disable battery optimization for this app to work when the phone is locked (doesn't notify otherwise). Also, the app just doesn't work logically; You receive a phone call when the doorbell is rung, when answering you have to unlock your phone and then enable the microphone to communicate (and to view live video). Sometimes the video and sound don't even work at all. Test fully before installation!

Massive lag between ringing the door bell and it alerting your phone. Initially I thought this might be a wifi issue so LAN connected it. Still the same, by the time your phone rings the person at the door has left. Horrible app interface. Randomly has stopped saving video to my Google Drive. One of the key reasons I bought it. Failsxon every front. It is shocking save your money AVOID

July 2021 and still the worst on the market, poor connectivity and sound, third rate camera. I'm informed by Smartwares that the email snap shot function as been removed, do not buy this unit, plenty of better units out there that do what they say they do and include the email snap shot function, such a shame as it was very good, now it's worthless😤

I returned the DIC-23122UK after using this awful app, I couldn't live with features such as the admin password is required to unlock the lock, the rest of screen that shows the video being white makes it harder to see the video which is a narrow band, the layout/options are terrible, the lock screen shows after you accept the call from the doorbell and that's if you get it at all, it doesn't remember settings, the device loses Ethernet if power is lost requiring manual reconnection!

It's a clunky app, and not very friendly to use, but it generally does what you'd expect from a video doorbell. Personally I'd like more options on the night camera settings, and it constantly sends me movement updates despite motion masking, and sensitivity being reduced to the lowest point.

Update: now working on Android 10! This app doesn't work with my Google Pixel 2 XL. Tried everything, battery optimization, do not disturb restriction, etc. Even done hard reset. It's a shame because it works fine on my Hauwei P8 and iOS devices. Probably hasn't been optimised for Android 9 yet. Spoke to Google support and they think it's a security issue between the app and phone. The developers hopefully will fix this soon.

Very poor. Just will not connect after the doorbell is rung, so I'm out and I know theres a caller but I can't connect to see who it is nor talk to them. Even after resetting and starting over, used two different routers the app will only tell you the bell has been rung. Video will not connect even when sat in same room as the doorbell and router! Avoid.

Very stable. Only Motion detection has some bad points. It triggers during switch between night and day vision. Motion mask should also have more detection zones for more precision. It would also be nice to play the video directly after clicking a motion alert.

Camera brilliant but app very glitchy. Keeps losing connection and as of the last time haven't got back on yet. As this is the only practical way of viewing and getting notifications it's poor for a £200 camera. I have bought 2 of these things, how stupid was I. If I can't work out why this one would suddenly stop working 24 hrs after it has worked fine the other one is going back. My advice buy a razor wire fence that's security that works 24/7

After about a week the actual doorbell function stopped working, (somehow no connection to/notification on my phone) although the camera connects just fine. Reinstalling everything or resetting does nothing. Confusing menu system in a very clunky app. Need to return it, but that means refitting the former doorbell system....

Compared to other products in the market still a long way to go. Very rudimentary app and device. Too complicated to setup. User experience has taken a big beating with the whole installation process. Increase and improve features or perish.

I wanted a skybell but it was out of my price range, so opted to get the byron video doorbell which works via smarter things app. I would suggest people wantining to strength security, disabilities or people caring for their elderly parents buy one of these, as it provides you with a visual of the property from anywhere in the world. You can use it in addition to other servalince systems. I've only bee using it for a month but so far the experience has been positive.

works well with my byron doorbell, i have it hardwired and it works really quickly, the files auto upload to google drive which is great. Voice and video communication does depend on mobile phone signal, mostly mine works a treat. i have mine triggering a normal internal door bell so we hear it in the house too.

Setting up was hard, make sure you read and properly understand the instructions, good clear pictures, sensitivity could be better, I can access notifications and view real time pictures from anywhere. All in all I'm pleased.

This Doorbell is not good. If not hard wired, it doesn't hold it's charge. No way of knowing how much/little charge is in the battery. Has to be removed from wall to charge. Does not link to the app on some phones & tablets. SD cards don't work.

At first it was a good doorbell and amazing that it uploaded videos to google drive. Then it stopped uploading to Google after an update and technical support was utterly and completely useless by saying "it was not in their expertise to resolve" the problem was that the bell would only upload when the day of the month was less than 12. But tech support was not interested in looking into it Avoid

Rubbish. Won't connect to the camera about 80% of the time. When it does connect, it'll disconnect almost immediately. Very unreliable, inconsistent, buggy, glitchy and frustrating.

Not very responsive.. very slow to open up camera when bell rings. Motion doesn't seem to work. App could be better. Disappointing for the price. But I have it now..Should have got a ring or another make.

Yes,yes finally I figured out. Door bell video is very nice quality. Now when I figured out how to connect my family's phones to door bell actually it is very easy to connect and use. Only problem I have that I must charge door bell every 15 days. But I don't use so often. I mean I don't have visitors everyday. And if I do it's not even 10 people at the time.

Easy to setup and configure. Fast, responsive and intuitive function. I might personally tweak some menus or functions here and there, but that's just minor preferences.
