Smash Up - The Shufflebuilding Game

“Get ready to start the carnage in the digital edition of AEG’s shufflebuilding card game, Smash Up. Choose two faction decks from Pirates, Ninjas, Robots, Zombies, and more, and combine them to create a hybrid team that is a force to be reckoned with!

No game is the same... no Faction is the same!
Mash up 2 factions into a 40 deck of cards, with each faction having different mechanics every mash up is different.

Think strategy!
You only need 15 points to win the game…Sounds easy? How easy is it when another player has a Pirate-Dinosaur deck, they decide to sail into the base you have your eyes on and release King Rex to stomp your minions into the ground… Better think ahead bro.
Whats your first Smash Up going to be?

Love the table top game. This is not however the best adaptation. The UI is clunky and it slows the gameplay way down. When cards activate doesn't always make sense and it can be difficult to know what card is resolving And finally the lack of expansions available this game has been available for 2 years and out of it's 2 base sets and 11 expansions Only 1 is available? Keep in mind the table top version of this game has only been out for 3 years it's self. But if your a hard core fan it's still a fun and quick. Way to play by yourself or on the go when your friend can't make it over for the real thing.

The game is awesome, but the app has a lot of issues. Some of them are okay to deal with like the app crashing or the game not responding because they are easily resolved by killing the app and re launching it. But since a recent update, the app uses about 20% in 10 mins. It would be great if the developers can reduce the graphic usage since it's just a card game (settings default to high). It would also be good to have an option to skip the initial faction pick animations and start right away

Enjoy the game, though it has some hic-cups, and sometimes I have to restart the "start game process" because faction selection is very touchy. The biggest drawback is the lack of expansions when compared to the board game. Finding time to play the board game with other participants is tough, whereas this is convenient to play, but is not the full game. The price is honestly very good.

I love the cardboard version of this game, and despite some flaws this is an ok digital version. I wish I could give it 4 or 5 stars but the app has been broken since launch. I am not able to select any of the expansion factions that I've paid for (but AI players can, which is even more annoying). I'd even pay for the expansion again if I had that option. I have a bunch of Asmodee games so I was willing to be patient but there is no sign of progress in a year+ Disappointed.

Pro: The game is so close to the real thing. It's on par with my hobbyist programming skill. Con: Awkward, unintuitive controls. The developers should observe the digital version of "Talisman" for ideas. Bug: Some Base rewards/actions don't resolve correctly (I'm mainly looking at Tortuga and the Grey Opal. Runner up is supposed to be able to move their minions over to the new base, but I never can. I have to pass the reward every time.)

Near unplayable due to visual, UI, and interface bugs. I love the smashup card game. This phone version is... Subpar to say the least. First: the displayed screen is to small for any larger phone. About a half inch of my screen isn't used for the interface and shows a reduplicated section of the top right of the screen. Second: the action/minion abilities don't work. Specifically when I am prompted to play an additional minion via ability. I would recommend avoiding this game for the time being

Great game but needs some fixing!! So some friends and I play this as the card game in real life. When we found the app we thought this would make it so much easier to play being that we all have jobs and family. We bought the game tried a few rounds. The game isn't bad but it has some problem reading touches. It'll choose a card to the left or right of what you are tapping. Also they need to add some sort of confirmation button for action. I just wanna read what I'm looking at before deciding.

Downloaded this to play with game night friends while we are staying distant. However, the invite friends function only gives an error saying it's not available on my account. Contacted support and was told they reproduced the error and basically that it was Google Play's fault for updating. No indication that a fix was forthcoming, any sort of timeframe, or offer of recompense. This app is useless to me without this feature. It probably has a decent solo play if that's what you're looking for.

Really love the card game, but was wary to pick up the app due to poor reviews. The rights have been transferred to a new developer and I have to say the game runs excellent. Really happy with the conversion, you've done a great job. Only fault is that when playing online, the app has to be open constantly or else the game kicks you out, even to just check a message. Once this is overcome, the app will be perfect.

I was super excited for this as Smash Up is my favorite game but the app leaves a lot to be desired. The cards don't play the way they're supposed to which leads to a lot of random things happening. Cards that shouldn't target you, do and ones that should don't, which is kind of unforgivable given that the whole game is based around the card rules. AI turns could be faster too.

It doesnt work. The title scrren loads, but if I press any if the buttons, they all go away, and the title screen gets stuck. This happens even if I select the options. I've waited 10+ minutes, and nothing changed. Even if the game were to work after that, I'm not going to wait 10+ minutes every time I want to start a new game.

I loved this game since watching in on TableTop. The music is so boring, it puts me to sleep. Limited sound and ui effects when theres alot of things happening you could learn alot from Star Realms. The Base layout was not translated very well into the game I could hardly see the art work since its covered by numbers and the base image in the row zooms in so much sometimes I cant understand what I'm seeing. Finaly it always hangs after finishing a game. This feels like a beta product or MVP.

The game is fun, but it's so buggy that I regret buying it. It is not infrequent that the AI will simply lock up and not make a play, so you can't finish the game. The computer also essentially cheats all the time, violating the rules on the cards. For instance, there is a card that can only be used on a base where you have a minion, and the computer successfully used it on a base where it didn't. I also can't find a way to submit a bug report easily, so I don't think these are being worked.

Stay away. Don't purchase this app. It's a buggy mess. I just want play online with my Samsung Chromebook V. 2, but it won't let me log in so I can't use the app I paid for, not that I would if I could, this game has gotten no new expansions since release, over two years ago, and the implementation of AI is terrible, it locks up constantly. Ultimately, this was a waste of money.

Overall a great game at a great price. It froze once, but haven't had many gameplay issues. It can be difficult reading what the cards do but after playing it for a while you'll get the hang of it. Still haven't gotten multiplayer to work, but since I'm still learning the game I'm not bothered yet.

The good -Cool game, kind of a cross between Hearthstone and Keyforge card play, but with 2-4 players. -Unique "shuffle building" setup of putting together the decks of 2 factions to play with. -players can each pick the same fractions without having to buy multiple sets of the game. Problems -Online servers do not connect, which was the main reason I bought it (still doesn't work after update) -AI can pick factions I have not unlocked -no undo option and easy to play accidentally

Have always been a huge fan of Smash Up, so was excited when I remembered it was on Android and made the purchase. I immediately bought the expansion for Awesome Level 9000, yet the factions do not show up in my faction selection. It shows up in my Google Play purchases, yet in the in-app Smash Up store it still says Available Now, while not doing anything when I try to hit the button, nor showing it as Owned. I'd happily change my review to 5 stars if I could actually use the DLC that I paid for, but right now it's extremely frustrating. Additionally, the game refuses to connect to the servers for me.

From the opening animation to the menu everything seems slow. The cards are hard to pick from your hand. Even more from your deck. My phone is heating. I can't find the option to change language.

Cpt. S. Jun 4, 2021

I think one of my biggest annoyances is the base is supposed to break when it hits the break point no matter what. I just had a match where I hit 23 of 22 points, used Gnome to destroy the computer's only minion there and the base remains for him to play a minion and acquire points. Not sure if the devs are working on this game anymore, but I realize now why I uninstalled it last time. Please fix this issue. I love Smash Up and would enjoy playing this as the actual game is supposed to be.

Love Smash-Up, the app could use a little work. Broadside and Your Pretty Much Borsht I know for sure the AI is ignoring needing a minion, other cards may be broken as well. I wish I could filter out the Geek deck(who needs instant counter grief while Wheaton is grinning at you). Have played 30ish local games so far and one has continually crashed the app from is bookmark point so I had to ditch it. In game selection can be tough on a phone, I wish there was additional confirmation of selections

The game crashes about (20-25%) 1 in 4 or 1 in 5 times I try to play, and it crashes even more now that I've played 20+ times. And when it crashes, it crashes my entire tablet too. I can't believe that I actually PAID for this game. What an idiot.

Col. S. Apr 14, 2019

great game app my only real problem is in order to view the card you have to click and hold it in order to read it card instead of clicking it and the card staying up. with the way it is it can make it difficul to read card because your friend will be in the way or the card comes up on the Wrong side when you click it. Also the AI is pretty difficult even on easy.

Chr. N. Apr 21, 2020

The game crashes my tablet everytime I try to open it. I have to fully shut it down by holding down the power button because my touch screen freezes. Something glitchy is going on. I have plenty of memory.

great game and very close to the board game experience. I would rate it higher, but I can't reload my inapp expansion purchase after switching phones or change the vp game limit. The game could also use more expansion packs.

Tre. S. Mar 11, 2020

Game crashes before I can even play. I've heard this game is a lot of fun but I couldn't confirm that at all since I cant even open the app. If you have a galaxy s7 dont purchase this app until they confirm it's fixed....... Even after the update it still wont let me pass the tutorial and crashes.
