The app is very basic. Only gives you checking info. Of you have a credit card linked it only shows total balance you owe. No minimum amount or due date info. And you have to go through a separate option to pay your card, and even then it still wont give you any updated info. Please fix
Literally impossible to use because it doesn't recognize my password. I can't log in because of this so there's no reason whatsoever to have this app installed on my phone. SMCU has been pretty bad at online stuff in general in my experience and this app completely not working at all is just another thing to add to the list
Not bad for a Credit Union app, but still could be a lot more user friendly from the login settings, being able to transfer funds between banks, clarity on how to transfer between accounts. I love this Credit Union but the mobile app could use some work.
Not that great. Have to go through the regular to be able to look up in depth statements, but can't transfer funds through the regular site, have to use the app. Figure your programming issues out. It's ridiculous!
Really bad app I really wanted to use this bank and use this app and switch over from Bank of America but they've made it virtually impossible. Try as I might I cannot sign in without getting an error on my phone which renders the app useless. apparently they are stand-alone products the bank and the app are completely separate which is ridiculous.
It continually hijacks my phone. It just opens up while i'm using another app. This gets irritating after awhile. I'm also not able to do in depth banking on my phone. I need a laptop to run programs that my phone used to handle. I wished they would allow me to use the pc version on my phone le they used to
Worst app I have ever dealt with. NO FUNCTIONALITY. cannot transfer funds to external BANK account. When I call into CU I am on hold forever. I am thinking about looking elsewhere for a better service C.U. Have gone thru this too many times. I can' t even get on to the desktop site. What the heck!
What's the point of having an app if it can work properly. I can't see the activity of my credit card, no transaction history available. It does not have my payment information like due date or minimum payment. This app is really bad comparing to other credit unions, not even comparing to bigger banks.
Constantly buggy, can't even login to the app. It will work one time, but then bugs out. DO NOT INSTALL THIS APP. You're better off using the Chrome browser to sign in to the website.
It's come a long way from its humble beginnings. I only use it for checking my balance, making transfers, and occasionally depositing checks. Works as expected on all three fronts.
This app is complete garbage! It never remembers passwords and it's always prompting me to change it. I am seriously considering leaving SMCU because of this inconvenience.
New version 4.2.32 installed today. It doesn't let me register for mobile access. When I click "Accept Terms & Conditions" it just goes back to the same page showing terms and conditions. Also the SMCU website doesn't provide any alternative way to apply for mobile access. I also tried "Recover User ID" but when I submit my information I get page-not-found. I'll give an extra star for the benefit of a doubt since I'm using an old phone (Galaxy S3), but still ...
It is user friendly because of ease of use. Very rarely are there issues or downtime with this app. It is very reliable.
It needs a major update. It don't you show me any statements of my credit card. It pops up randomly on my phone when I'm using other apps. Super basic app.
Deposit of check was slightly challenging, as it made me retake picture of check multiple times...I was able to easily transfer $ to make Visa payment.
Love It, I just dont like the fact that you cannot see when to oay your bill. have to open It on a browser and schedule payment on the web. other than that is a great app.
This is a very user unfriendly app. I was told that mobile banking on this app does not work with a Samsung Smartphone and they will be updating it in June 2020. If I could give it zero stars I would.
The mobile deposit feature does not auto-focus on checks, so images are blurry. New format with plus sign in circle was confusing.
The app has limited functionality. For example, I can't pay bills or look at what bills are in my queue. However, I does allow me to check my balances and to make transfers within my SMCU accounts
Keeps giving me error messages when I'm trying to set up the app. Reset and even uninstall. Call the bank still no help. Bank is great but this app is not good needs to be fixed
I give one star just because every time I have to install the app and unstall back again. if I want to use my computer I can't because I have it installed in my phone. it's one or the other.
I always have a good experience with San Mateo Credit Union app. It's very easy to use no complaints whatsoever I wish other apps work just as easy.
love this back...i have been a customer since 2000 and even though i live far from any branch i still do my banking with them. now that everything is electronic my life is easier to bank at smcu... mobile app works great for fast transactions.
This app is horrible. San mateo credit union needs to fire everyone in the app development department and start over fresh. By far this is the worst app I have ever used for banking. I downloaded the app and at sign in it keeps telling me it does not work. 3 years ago this was the same issue and smcu employees themselves told me the app was garbage and to just sign in the the web and not app. They have not yet learned the developers are garbage. Come on SMCU we live in freaking silicon Valley.
I opened my accounts with SMCU in December 2019. I'm so pleased. I don't get sent to a large call center when I call. It's a nicer, more personal approach which I like. I'm not charged a maintenance fee which I also like. Thanks for being a trustworthy establishment.
the action i do most often, mobile deposit, was very hard to find. it used to be in the top menu.
Didn't mind not finding features that are commonly necessary, such as viewing recent transactions, etc. as long as I can do my deposits and transfers thru the app. So I didn't even bother voicing out my desperation. But suddenly, I ouldn't get thru for a few days now. Retried a number of times to log in hoping that the system is just busy. Tried uninstalling then re-installing but nothing seems to work. I still can't access my accounts.😩😞☹ What's going on here?
