When it works it does what it supposed to! But the app crashes over & over before it connects! Then it switches wifi & you have to start whole process over again! Sure wish they would have spent more time in developing the software, would like to be able to enlarge the picture when taken! But the only way is to take snap shot and use the phones photo app to do it?
Connection and crash issues. App struggles to connect. I suspected wifi interference at home. Same issues on my very rural shooting range. Wehen it finally does connect, the app crashes.
Continually Crashing on my Samsung Tab 2 tablet. I have not been able to get it to load up at all. I was able to get it to work on my cell phone, but it has none of the features to use for target shooting. Get the SME Target manager app instead.
works okay on my phone and ipad. it will not work on my samsung chromebook, locations services is turned on but will not register it correctly so you cannot use the app. cannot even load this app on my lenovo chromebook says it is not compatible, but the pro version installs, but has the same issue with location services. C'mon SME work this out. want to use the cam with a larger screen...
I'm taking back the spot shot... this thing does not work on android s10 phone... just get a black screen... company better get this fixed if they want to be successful.. totally unusable.. The other thing SME needs image stabilization any wind and you are done
App constantly crashes. If I'm lucky enough to get it to work at all it will only work for 5 minutes before it crashes. Have the same issue on my phone and tablet .(both samsung) I have always used a Phone Skope but purchased a spot shot because phone skope doesnt make a case for my new phone and being able to use my tablet would be nice. I'll be buying the universal phone skope.
User of the SME spotting scope camera. I cannot get the camera to show an image on Android phones. I have tried this app on 4 different Android phones with no success. SME customer service doesn't seem to know what is going on. The camera image does appear on Apple iOS based products using the app for iOS device s. Not sure if problem is with their wi-fi in the cameras (I have tried with 3 of their cameras with same failure) or if there is a problem with the app for Android devices.
App Wouldn't stay connected Everything working and you connect to app and you see the picture on the phone screen and then the app disconnects. What's the point in having a expensive system and the app doesn't work wish I hadn't wasted my money.
Easy fix for those who are having troubles using this app. If you find the app closing unexpectedly, go to Setup locate Apps then find Spot Shot. Clear the Data and Cache. Restart the app and should work. It did for me
Works well enough (12/10/2020 update 1.1.27), but function is sparse. No pinch zoom?! Can't even zoom the pictures?! Also can't flip orientation. Like beta software from 1990's.
App is garbage, doesn't work with newer samsung phones, if you are lucky it works for a few minutes then it freezes or the app just closes. The app needs to be updated
App for Android crashes every 2 minutes causing you to power off and on the camera before the app will reconnect. Clearing catch and data does not work as stated in other review. App needs to be updated and issue needs to be disclosed by manufacturer. I am most likely going to return this camera
As mentioned by seemingly everyone, app crashes all the time. Was only able to connect twice and then lost connection right away. Useless
Buggy software stops after 5 min and everything needs to reboot! Change timer to 2-23 hrs no help.Recorded a video and it does not show in gallery!
Work well on my Samsung A53 and on galaxy note 8 but not on the Samsung tablet A, which is a bummer, I'd like to see it on a bigger screen. Will see how it hold up in a month.
Only got app to work on one of three tablets. And it wasn't consistent. App keeps on asking for location on current tablet and won't start.
App doesn't work. As a dealer they wanted me to pay shipping to send the unit back to them because it doesn't work. Sounded as if this is a common problem for their devices.
This crashes after a few mins one samsung a20. Have tried resetting a lot of things in my phone but no luck. Manufacturers will not respond to email.
For the love of God, fix the app. Will not connect on both my Samsung s20 and s21. Does work on my a7 tablet but not on mobiles.
Keeps crashing and have to uninstall and reinstall to resolve. Submitted support request..pending... currently unable to use.
Clearing the cache worked and now the app works great and I can see the real-time feed. Changing my rating to 5 stars as promised.
The resolution is garage. Will be returning immediately.

This software is broken. It's the original version, 1.1.11, dated Aug. 2019. The software for the Spot Shot Pro has been updated to 1.16 on 2020-04-03, for "Bug Fixing and ANDROID 10 support". The software for the Pro model will not connect with the regular Spot Shot, so I can't use it. Running 1.1.11, I can make the wifi connection, but never receive any pictures or anything, just a black screen, no matter how long I stay connected. It's going back to Amazon.
