SMS Backup
The application will save your SMS messages to html-files, which are easy to handle.
The files will be stored on your sd-card. You can copy them to your computer and easily view or search them with a webbrowser of your choice.
The application creates 3 html-files:
- one for the inbox
- one for messages you've sent
- one with a thread-view like the default messaging application.
The application is able to store backups from different dates in different folders.

This app has one job, to back up text messages, and it does it very well. The interface is very simple. No ads. And no internet access permission needed, so I know my message data will stay on my phone unless I move it myself. Exactly what I need!
Love this app, does what it says and saves the text convos in an easy to read format unlike other apps I've tried. Super easy to use, great app.
Good app. It will be perfect if you could just save sms by conversation. Not all of them.

Simple app that does exactly what it promises. I like that it generates an html file which can be opened anywhere. I just hope they can find a way to index or list the logs per contacts in a chronological manner where i dont have to scroll though the entire html file to find the message im looking for.
This is a gem. This SMS backup/save delineates between your messages and your receiver's like in your conversations.
It sends the image of all conversations to an html file that is easy to find in the phone. It would be better if it made a separate file for each conversation but at least it clearly indicates where each conversation starts and ends.
Some of my texts messages are business related so I want to a save those records. My threads were over 100 messages long because I didn't want to lose those records. It took seconds to back them up. They save in the SMS folder on the SD card with my Android phone. I was able to rename the file. The result is I have now an electronic filing system based on my text messages right on my phone. Just don't lose the SD card. Plug my phone to Computer via USB cable to backup SD card files to my external Storage.

If possible to remove the colours, when I want to copy the information to office it still has colour. Thanks
This is the ONLY app I could find that exported both the sent and received messages in a format I could email, however I could not select a single conversation and had to export all the texts I ever received alltogether.

Bravo Mr Karg. Only asks for the permissions it actually needs. Unlike most other free SMS backup apps which demand utterly outrageous permissions.
Quite easy and fast converting in .html format. The best part is the index which allows u to nevigate to inbox, outbox, etc. Simply great. Kudos Stefan!!!
Love the easy read
All I wanted was a simple way to get the SMS on my phone onto the PC to print if needed. Don't want to send from my PC, restore to a phone or anything fancy. This is perfect, and does exactly what I wanted. Should be a simple thing implemented in Android by default when you connect to a computer. And having it as an HTML file also allows pulling out specific messages. Absolutely fills the void, since most other apps want to do much more. Many thanks!
