"SMS Backup & Restore", even though it performs a simple task, is a major project to develop and maintain. Because there are so many devices and so many different apps for texting, it requires constant attention, development, and improvements. in order to keep it moving, there is a symbolic fee for unlocking all the features.
The free version allows to share 8 messages each time and includes ads. It is a bit more complex but it actually allows the full functionality, especially for shorter conversions. If you upgrade to pro, you can send all the messages in one go.
Converting And Exporting SMS - Formats:
"SMS Backup, Print & Restore" will convert your SMS text messages to PDF, CSV, HTML or JPG formats, export the conversations to files and save them to your device storage.
It will use these files as attachments and share them via different sharing apps. the files are all restorable, meaning you can retrieve your texting data back to the device.
PDF File:

it's a great app when it comes to making sure you don't lose important messages, it backs up everything including photos with no mistakes and glitches and with incredible speed. Seriously if you have ever lost a phone and lamented the loss of contents, you owe it to yourself to get this app! There's just nothing comparable on the market!
Really glad I discovered this app to download and save my text message conversations in a readable manner that shows either all or part of a given thread. There are multiple ways to export the conversations and print out just what you need. I would highly recommend this app. It was worth the cost. The backup through the phone without this app put all of the messages together in an unreadable mess.
After 10+ transfer failures when trying to use the Apple "Move to iOS" app, I was desperate to find a way to keep years worth of Android messages in a readable format before switching to iPhone. This tool came to the rescue. Bought the paid version, made zip archives of everything in both html and pdf, and copied them over to Google drive. Problem solved.
Getting ready to upgrade my phone to a newer model, but needed an app that could export text messages to my PC for easy, searchable access. (These text messages were vital court evidence). In this app you can customize colors for optimal clarity, export as a PDF, HTML, and other files. I wish the app had a few more features like where the date shows up at beginning or end of each message, but that was ok. I did like that it ordered messages oldest first in a conversations. My reason for not liking this app is I bought it for one long message thread I have. After purchasing, I realized not all messages show up to be able to download. The one I need does not. I have several missing, and they vary by message type. Text Message, Multimedia, and chat. App is ok when it allows you to select message you want but being I can not select all messages, that I do not like.
I tried several free backup apps, most common wouldn't work at all, others downloaded difficult to read jibberish. This app is pretty good though, I like the option to save to pdf as well as the option to select conversations. pdf download took hours, but I had alot of messages. The PDF download itself was totally worth the price and the wait though, it comes out as pages of the messages formatted in the bubbles like the messaging app on the phone. I'm just glad I found something that will work.
I needed to backup and convert a long text conversation to PDF and this app fit the bill. I initially had problems with MMS messages from other contacts/conversations showing up in the backup/PDF. After contacting support and working with the developer, the problem was pinpointed and the app updated. Works perfectly now--very quickly creates an easily sharable and printable PDF. Thanks, Giles!
To be honest, it is better than most of the other apps that don't even work well and charge too high for the pro versions. It has some great features and options, the one feature that I really liked was its customization options which lets me customize the texts exactly how I want.
The software does an adequate job of extracting messages but I've worked with support for approaching 4 months and the restore still does not function. The last 3 months when I've contacted support for an update I only receive a reply stating I'll be informed when the issue is corrected. So far the only communication has been initiated by myself and my "backed up" messages are lost.
Has to be in your list of 'must have' apps on your device! It is SO useful to backup important texts and once you have backed it up, you don't need to worry about losing them again as it can easily be restored with one click of a button! Definitely recommend getting it!
I needed to print some texts as evidence and tried a few other apps, but in the end this one did exactly what I wanted. I hate paying monthly fees for something I ma or may not use and this was a one time purchase price. the free trial gave me enough information that I knew the app would do what I want.
I had AT&T 4 years ago, and by default, they set text format to RCS. You could NOT backup and get your side of the conversation bc no one supported backing up RCS. My mom passed away last year, desperate to save her texts, I tried this app. OMG, it worked. SMS, MMS, and freakin RCS. I now have my convo with my mom in PDF format. BEST backup app EVER. Never fails to deliver and does its job perfectly well! You can go for the premium version blindly as I did and you won't regret it. Has a multitude of options to format your text messages into PDF, HTML,CSV, etc. and is quite customizable too! Do recommend the download.
Clean backup and the files don't look messy. It can even export it into multiple formats which is something I really liked. The premium version is also a good deal for the variety of features it offers and money well spent in my opinion.
I am using SMS backup, print and restore from a very long time and it always does what its supposed to with a plus. The additional features for customization, export formats, etc. is a really good deal for the price. You can go for it!
I have had some legal issues and I was looking for the perfect app to backup messages as I needed more than 8000 messages and I didn't want to waste my money on apps that didn't work, needless to say, after using this app I immediately bought the premium version. Works flawlessly!
I was reluctant on getting the premium version but I still gave it a try, and based on my experience it is an excellent app! I have used this app to transfer 8500 SMS in a new device. Can you imagine, within 10 minutes all SMS of 32 months were backed up and restored on another device!
I tried to backup to Google Drive and it sent to a Google drive not associated with my email. And didn't give option how to change it. 😳 I paid a one time fee, not a recurring fee. If it is, let me know. I dont want ANY subscriptions or monthly fees. NONE. Thanks!
Backed up so many texts on so many devices without missing a single text or conversation, thanks to this app. I am more than willing to pay the small fee for the premium version for the services it offers. Use it properly and it's absolutely perfect!
The best part about this app is that you can either select individual or bulk messages, it works well with either of it and has a very versatile backup process! Even the emojis and media files can be backed up and viewed which is a huge plus!
Vey good app indeed, gets the job done and I was even able to transfer a large amount of messages in few minutes! I don't usually spend on apps but I really felt the need to make this a permanent app on my iphone and I'm glad I got it. Things have gotten so much easier to backup texts now!
The advantage of this app is that it could also be backed up and sent to Gmail as a seperate folder, which makes it easier to store in my opinion. Has a lot more functions and options that I haven't tried yet but still very satisfied with the performance.
Very useful. You won't know essential it is to have a backup app like this until you lose your messages, which was what happened in my case. I bought the premium version too and now I have been using it for months without any hassles.
The app is pretty well built and has some great features to offer. It supports a lot different things such as media files, RCS messages, emojis ,etc. Works beautifully on my LG k9 and I have had no complaints so far.
Its a great app, easy to use and has a lot of options and features as well. I do wish the option to print out any apps text messages existed within one app, so I don't have to have a different app to do the same thing for each messaging app on my phone
I love this app as it is actually true to it words and does what it says it can do. Doesn't leave you hanging midway though the backup process like other apps and even lets you customize the outcome! What more could you possibly need!
This app works if purchased as expected!! Very helpful options to choose how files/texts are backed up. Able to move to an SD card! One idea, show the size of the group of texts before submitting to backup. Wish I could upload directly to Google Drive or other program/app so I can upload to other device easily from there. I can't move my messages without saving to SD card or phone they are already on which is the reason for the purchase. Thank you!
