I like the app but it has a few problems. Contacts don't seem to properly sync and after the first sync it doesn't seem to sync them again. There's also no configuration on what to sync so it seems to only sync messages from the past few days. As others have noted, sometimes messages just sit in queue though. I do really like the app but it does have some limitations.
They are theives. I purchased the pro version almost 5 months ago and it stopped working. I tried reaching out but have been unsuccessful. I only get the same automatic email sent to me everytime. I'm back the trial and it's asking me to upgrade again. Waste of my $59.99. it's a scam
Worst client relations. When this app used to be smsforichat I paid for pro and then they converted to DeskSMS and ive sent an email asking to re-enable my pro but still no word. Also, I used to have problems with the earlier version because it would send double/triple texts for some reason. I emailed support 2 times asking for help and I never got any answer.
Just installed this app and I'm psyched! The setup instructions were clear and accurate. Immediately, previous conversations I'd started on my Android appeared in Messages on my MacBook. I've already sent and received texts, just like the good ol' days when texts and iMessages were seamless, back when I had an iPhone. But this app is making me feel much more confident in my decision to switch to Samsung. I have a good feeling about SMS for iMessage!
This is a joke! I switched from Apple to Samsung and was always able to send texts from my computer with my Apple for free. I downloaded this app thinking this would be the same. Unfortunately everytime I open the app on my computer it downloads all my old texts that I've already read and when I try to send a new text, it tells me I've reached my free limit!
Horrible App. Paid for lifetime subscription. Installed it on Note 10+ and installed on PC laptop and MacBook Pro. Can't view MMS sent to me. Can't send either. Contacted support which is useless. My refund request has been thus far unsuccessful. Mighty text is so much better ......going back to them!
This app has really been a lifesaver for me ! I'm currently working remotely and my cell phone only works in one corner of this building. So with my cell phone sitting where it works I can text fluently from my Mac. Anyway, I've had no issues with it and would recommend it !
Useless product. It stopped working after I paid for lifetime subscription. I contacted support multiple times, and received no answer. No texts work in either direction, despite the app saying it identifies my phone. Save your money. Buy something else.
Update 2: I gave up. Worst app, and worst customer service ever. I waited forever for them to credit my lifelong subscription. After weeks they sent a message stating that they would not honor it unless I change my negative review (nice way to conduct business!). Weeks after that, I've received an email stating that the subscription transfer was done. It wasn't. They don't want me to say that this is a scam. Draw your own conclusions. To make matters worse, now the desktop app doesn't communicate with the phone app ('It seems like you have signed out of your account on your Android phone. You'll need to sign back into your account on the DeskSMS Android app.If you believe this is not the case, please try signing out of your account on your Android and sign back in. If the issue continues to exist, please contact us."). I did contact them, again. To no avail, no response at all. If you have money and time to waste, go ahead and download this app. But don't expect the app to work, the customer service to respond to your emails, or to get your money back when they decide to rename the app again.
I like thus app. It helps me simplify work, using my computer for text when I'm on the computer. I wish I could pull images from the app and save them. I wish I could open files from the app. It is still the best I've seen for integration of Droid and Mac.
Its OK. I much prefer Phoneleash which forwards my texts directly to my email, but for my limited use, Phoneleash is too expensive. On the plus side, I like the ability to respond to a text from my computer.
very convenient and works well. upgrading to pro is definitely worth it especially if you are someone with a lot of incoming txts everyday on your android and you happen to be on your mac a lot as well. i thoroughly enjoy this app and its exactly what i was looking for!
I've been using Macs and iPhones since God was a boy. Work forced me to switch to Android which really upset my apple cart. Wow, great pun there! Anyway, DeskSMS came about as close as any app to providing integration of a phone, desktop and contacts as anything I've found on Android. That said, it just didn't fulfill my needs in those areas. I'm a pretty heavy user and perhaps so used to the Apple way of doing things that I'm just stubborn, but I ended up just going with the stock text app on my Samsung Galaxy 9 and giving up on the dream of having this integration. But if you're not a heavy user, this app is probably fine for you.
Had a problem with the app and emailed their customer service to look for a solution. That was 3 weeks ago. I've emailed each week since and have heard nothing back. This company may be scamming people, especially after all the reviews I have read. Wish I read them before I purchased a subscription. If the developers are reading this, please contact me to work out a solution. Update: over a month later with no contact from the developer. Convinced now this is a compete scam!
I purchased the LifeTime Subscription (129.99) when they were SMS for iChat. They moved over to DeskSMS and discontinued SMS for iChat. After weeks of sending multiple messages, they finally got back to me and have upgraded my account. Well, now it doesnt work. The messages show as sent on the mac, but dont show on the phone which tells me they arent actually sending. Ive checked for updates, restarted, logged in and out, and it still doesnt work.
I was looking for an application to Sync my Android SMS messages with my Macintosh, DeskSMS has exceeded my expectations! The program runs seamlessly and flawlessly. It does exactly what I needed it to. I have yet to have a problem with it. If you're looking for an application for SMS syncing your PC or your Mac this is the application 4 you. I'm not a big reviewer "I almost never review Apps" However this application has more than exceeded my expectations thus my reason for reviewing 5 SATARS
I have a subscription and with the software update I still don't have PRO features despite many attempts to change this. I shouldn't to chase down proper customer service to fix an error the company made. I have asked for my ugrade on the new version and a refund for the months I haven't had access to their services and still no response. Clearly they need to get it together and I would not recommend this app. UPDATE: yes I did claim my account and it still did not work. And I have been emailing you for months with no response. Do not respond to my rating pretending that you are being proactive in helping your customers if you cannot answer their emails. (Maybe you should have more employees checking that email address and less trying to cover up bad google ratings...)
The basic version is ok, but I HATE that it attaches a URL for the app website onto every message – only upgrading to a paid version lets you disable that feature. I uninstalled it.
I didn't want to have to do this but this company won't return ANY of my emails or messages. I was charged for another year's subscription even after I cancelled and there's no way I can even access my payment or billing information to remove payment methods. I want my money refunded ASAP!
I have been an iPhone and Mac guy for about 10 years and grown accustomed to the productivity benefits of using a full size keyboard for iMessage from my Mac. However, when I finally switched to Android, I lost that integration. Fortunately, DeskSMS restores my ability to text from my Mac.
stopped working...terrible sometimes it work sometimes it doesn't very frustrating. you have to keep refreshing the app on the phone to get the desktop to sync. what the point!!
Stay away. Since changing from ichat.mdrs.io to desksms, they won't honor the 1 year of service I bought 6 months ago. Yet they keep asking me to buy a lifetime subscription. The new version requires I use a separate chat client. It used to work with my imessages on my Mac. Now I have a whole new chat program window open, just so I can see what's going on with my android sms's. Terrible move.
A godsend for people that prefer to text from their iMac and have an Android phone. Stable and reliable, DeskSMS has become a can't-live-without app for me and has unchained me from the tired yet exoensive iPhones. GREAT!
It was unclear to me that if I didn't pay for the app, there would be a stupid signature at the end of every message I sent. After sending one message and seeing that attached to the end of my message, I deleted the app.
I upgraded and paid for the pro service and the app doesn't work. I emailed them 3 times and have gotten no responses. I feel like I waisted my money on a service that doesn't work and there's no support.
Don't buy it. I paid for AirText which is now DeskSMS. They never got back to me to transfer my lifetime subscription. I won't be surprised if 6 months from not they launch a new app and screw the subscribers all over again
The desktop app says I've signed out of the phone. The phone app says it's waiting for me to sign into the computer. The app can't sync.
Often, when sending messages, the message will sit in the desktop app for several minutes and never send. Texting, especially for work, often involves back and forth that is time sensitive. I bought the app to reduce the time it takes to text on my phone, but I end up opening my phone and writing out the text. I just bought a keyboard that can connect to my phone through Bluetooth. It is much faster. May just end up uninstalling this and texting that way. Sent a message to the company...no response.
