SMS Reader
It can be used for example while under the shower, while biking or running, even while driving to read your messages without reaching for your phone, which is safer (do not forget to stop the vehicle before answering).Moreover, it can be useful for people with low-sight, blind and old people.
The service that reads incoming messages is compatible with applications such as Llama which allows activation or deactivation triggered by various events. Check help for more details.

The application requires the following authorizations:
- Receive and read SMS: required for the reading service.
- Read contacts: To identify the sender of the messages
- Bluetooth and audio settings: To stream audio through mono and stereo bluetooth devices
- Boot: To start automatically when the related option is checked
- Internet : For ads
Privacy:The application uses the contact information exclusively to retrieve the name and picture associated with a phone number. There is no data sent on internet nor gathered in a file.
Notes:
- Some Bluetooth devices may not work correctly with the application, especially with Android 5 and later. If you encounter an issue, please send me an email with the reference of the Bluetooth device as well as the model and version of your mobile. Thanks.
- Huawei mobile owners: On some models there is the Huawei app manager", on which you need to add authorization for SMS Reader or it will not work correctly. Check your device documentation for how to do that.
!!! Warning !!!Samsung users on Android 6 (S6, S7 for example) should avoid using Samsung's built-in TTS engine, because it is broken. Refer to http://stackoverflow.com/questions/26730082/illegalargumentexception-invalid-int-os-with-samsung-tts for more details.

This app is exactly what I was looking for. Only mild complaint I have is my bluetooth adapter goes into power save mode and this app doesn't wake it up when a text is received. Very useful app though to keep me from reading texts while on the road.
Good as it gives me what I need. Loud and precise reading of messages. How can the app be ON permanently because it always gets OFF after each use. Thank you.
There is a problem with that otherwise good app, it does not support my car Bluetooth system. It won't take over the audio to play the SMS. If I use the Mono Bluetooth setting then it takes over permanently the Bluetooth audio but then I have no more radio... Any solution?
Waste of time. Worked twice and then just kept stopping. Never worked again. Where is the quality control on apps in this play store.
Pretty good, would be 5 stars if I could hear grp messages. When ever I get grp messages nothing comes through on samsung III
Needs dedicated Bluetooth support so it only operates when a Bluetooth headset is connected. Other than that it worked quite well although some messages weren't read when listening to music.

Best SMS Reader at Google Play Store. Tried 8 different apps and all failed except yours. Seamless, light, great UI, and thankfully flawless. Used on my Samsung Galaxy S7.
SAMSUNG GALAXY S7 EDGE. ANOTHER SMS READER THAT ONLY WORKS 50% OF THE TIME. THERE MUST BE ONE OUT THERE THATS 100% RELIABLE.

This is my favorite app. It's wonderful for us lazy folks who don't want to pick up the phone to read the latest message.... I requested a "shake to stop" feature that silences the app if you move the phone in case you don't want the whole message out loud. Works wonderfully! Thank you thank you thank you!
This is all I needed, reads the texts out and will help my mum greatly who can no longer read texts but listening to them through this is awesome

Not able to delete messages
It keeps turning itself off
It's okay but sometimes I turns itself off even though in notifications it says it's on. I picked this one because the developer seems to respond to where others do not. I hope I get a response to this problem
Finally, an app that does what I want. It reads my text messages on my Bluetooth headphones, does not also project the audio to my phone speaker (unless headset turned off), and doesn't have to be open to do it.
