Oh my lord. I like the idea of snapper and really like the idea of the app but it is so buggy it makes me want to cry. For one it will pop up every 10 seconds when I'm not even using it no matter what I do so I end up uninstalling it after 10 minutes anyway (not convenient). And two getting it to recognize my card is halfway impossible sometimes. Otherwise I really liked it. Just fix that.
The app keeps on opening unprompted as soon as my snapper card comes close to my phone. This is a big issue for me since I'd like it if it could only read the card when I manually open the app, not automatically (or at least add in an option to turn this function off for goodness sake!). Snapper please add in an option to switch off the automatic scanning!
It's a great app for topping up on the go. Aside from the digital footprint of where you have been (which you kinda already know) if you're only using Wellington buses (and snapper isnt used by all services) it offers little else. It's about time Snapper and ML sorted out a one user card system to get around the city. It's ridiculous Metlink offer a monthly pass and transfer to a bus only within that zone. On the obverse, Snapper don't cater for the ever cancelled train services. Sort if out
works well for what it is. only inconvenience is needing to turn NFC off to prevent the app from starting whenever the snapper card is too close, which is an annoyance when you use a flip case and have your snapper in it. ideally this would be configurable. I use tasker to overcome this, but the average user won't have any idea how to do that.
How do we register cards if it don't allow it. I brought 3 snapper cards this year. 2 being lost/stolen with big amounts of credit on it. Which could have been transferred had they been registered.
Extremely user unfriendly! Can only see one week's worth of transactions. I was overcharged for two separate top ups, but I only found out I'd been double charged ( without receiving double credit) when my credit card statement showed up at the end of the month. Unfortunately it's the only option for public transport other than carrying a load of coins
Nfc doesn't work on my imported phone and there are no retailers, ATMs or kiosks nearby, which means I'm stuck. I can't top up online, even though i could easily top up my credit card online (without silly hardware) and that's much more critical in terms of security. Tried using workmate's app, seemed to work but then "oops something went wrong" every time i try to top up. Have $ to spare. Now I have to pay for an Uber. Why does it need to be more secure than my bank?
A bit useless now. It used to work but after upgrading to Android 9 it can read my card and start to top up but it cannot put the top up into the card. it just keeps asking for the card to be presented. Had to complete the top up on my old phone. Did this twice so I can either switch back to my old phone or uninstall your app. Uodate: it looks as though the May update to the phone means that the app now works
picks up every card ever indiscriminately. If I so much as breathe while holding a card with a chip the app will open, and I cannot find a way to stop it opening (not in app or system settings). No other app does this (including when I've uninstalled the snapper app). I'm just using my phone on the bus and don't want to forget to tag off, stop telling me my balance!
Something wrong with this app I try to top up my phone it keep saying opps try again and I did it still doing something I restarted my phone and nothing to buggy tbh.
Snapper disabled the website log in nearly a year ago and then won't let the app work on an phone without nfc. Useless
Useless in unexpected ways. Installs but won't open on Vivo Android 10 phone. Installed on old phone and would open, but wouldn't let me create an account, no explanation why. Eventually tried a different email address and worked ok (have never had a snapper account before so can't be that)
previously gave this app 1 star because it kept opening everytime I opened my phone wallet but have since learned how to turn my NFC reader on and off real quickly. its still not the best app in the world... a good app would have access to train and bus timetable real time information. But I do like how my card is instantly topped-up through the app quite convenient. so have upgraded to 3 stars
So great to be able to top up without having to find a shop that does it or pay their extra fee, be able to pay by credit card, and be able to see the transaction history which helps figure out of you've been overcharged . Never any glitches with the app. Made life easier!
App &website not helpful to get card for child or transfer balance. Seems like a longhaul process. I think I'd rather pay using paywave and pay cash...much more easier and convenient. Snapper service is really bad, not there to help customers at all, rather take your money..don't waste time with this
For some reason the app won't recognize my card. It's not that my NFC isn't working. It's turned on and I've used NFC before. It annoys me that I have to constantly go to the nearest place to top up instead of going onto my phone. It's annoying and at this point I honestly wouldn't mind just using cash on the bus rather than this bloody app to top up my card.
App will not stop opening unprompted as I keep my other cards close to my phone. Drains battery and generally annoying when using my phone - had to uninstall the app after each use as no setting to turn this off. Otherwise found it very useful (topping up worked) but this issue makes the app unusable in my opinion.
Unable to top up using S10. Nothing happens when I select Get in touch. Said features are working fine on previous and lower version of android phones. It seems useless aside from reading the remaining balance on card. Do hope they fix this error soon.
It works fine on s8, but when it comes to topping up my phone I have to close the app and switch on NFC and re open the app and turn NFC on again in order to actually collect the top up. It's really annoying when I have to do this.
Brilliant and easy to use. Auckland why did you ever drop snapper?? For those having difficulty with the App you need to check if your phone is updated and/or is not jailbroken (all banking apps tied to NFC will stop). You also can't blame the app if your phone is not working 100% either.
Great app, the interface is clean and simple and I don't have to think to top up - just touch my Snapper card to the back of the phone, tap a few buttons, done. I love not having to go to the shops to top up.
This app used to work flawlessly before I began driving. Now when I try to use it for the first time in nearly a year it won't accept my card for a top-up even though I checked and input the details correctly three times. The issue isn't with the card as it works everywhere else that accepts a debit card. What changed?
have to scan card about 5 times to get balance, otherwise get alot of error messages, and rarely able to top up using preloaded credit card. snapper support non existent, and of course there are never any issues at their end
Snapper app not working although nfc is on . Stopped working about 2 weeks ago. Not happy so inconvenient. Have tried unistalling the app twice and reinstalling but still not working. Have had no issues with snapper until now , would not recommend at the moment. WHEN IS THIS GOING TO BE FIXED !!
So sick of this stupid app being unable to tell snapper nfc from literally anything else. No other app feels the need to open when it picks up a card it's not used with!! This has been an issue for literally years but nothing is ever done. Good thing there isn't another option for it or no one would touch this app.
Your app is bloody horrible. It has trouble reading cards. It's unresponsive at best. And it's downright unreliable compared to a kiosk, of which there are fewer around these days. This app is not the only thing that is wrong with you, Snapper.
