* Product InformationThis 'Hangeul (Korean Alphabet)' application enables foreign learners without experience of the Korean language to easily comprehend the sounds and shapes of Korean consonants and vowels. It consists of various educational activities that teach Korean pronunciation and writing, so learners can master the sounds and shapes of Hangeul (Korean alphabet) via a smart device anywhere in the world.
* CharacteristicsThe overall composition is geared towards boosting a step-wise learning of the pronunciation and the stroke order for writing Korean consonants and vowels. The stroke order is numbered for learners to easily understand and follow it. Learners can master the shapes of Korean letters while directly writing them onto their smart device.
As for vowels, you can check a native speaker's mouth shape through video footage. This application's voice-recording function leads you to directly record and check your pronunciation, and repetitive recording is also possible. In the recording section, you can compare your pronunciation with that of native speakers. In each learning unit, you can test your performance through the practice function.This application is available in English, Japanese, and Chinese.
* Introduction to SNU Language Education InstituteDo you want to learn Korean? Located at the SNU campus, the Language Education Institute (LEI) is a specialized institution for language education that offers a wide range of Korean language courses. Language education experts with at least a master's degree do their best to improve the Korean proficiency of learners through systematic instruction. The Regular Program consists of four semesters–spring, summer, autumn, and winter–and each 10-week semester features four hours of daily classes from Monday to Friday. The LEI runs an evening class on Monday and Thursday for workers and university students who cannot take daytime classes, as well as both 3-week and 5-week short-term courses for those students planning to study during the vacation. This is an outstanding tool for learning Hangul. It's not flashy, but it gives you all the right information without any clutter. Modernizing the UI would be welcome, but this is a still a five-star app without it.
This is mostly good. However, the option to record my own voice to compare it to the native speaker doesn't work at all for me. It doesn't record anything. So, while I think that would be one of the most useful features, for me it's useless.
The best app for learning how to pronounce Korean vowels and consonants. The sound quality is real human voice not computer generated (If generated by computer, it is very human-liked).Simply the the best app for learners who want to pronounce Korean correct ly. Much thanks to the institution and developer for making this excellent and free app.

Great app! Really helping with nice methods. I don't have much time to learn and don't have good memory, but I able to read hangeul in a week. Please put roman or written pronounciation. A total beginner like me will have a difficulties in recognizing between "o" and "eo" or "k" and "kk" if it's only sound.

No ads or Internet! Great! Can be used offline! easy and straight to the point. Great for practising with handwriting, pronunciation, visual aid and listening and memory recall!

No ads. Just a real grounding in Korean alphabet. Perhaps with a hope that, one day you may visit their University. It runs offline so it's good for travelling. Wish the test answer stays on the screen longer.

Thanks maker! I cannot give one, two, three, or four stars because it had helped me a lots. As I am a person who has never learnt Korean before, now, I can know how to read Korean alphabets and words. Moreover, however, I uninstall, I still remember this app forever in my mine. Last saying: I do love you!
Please give the option of not having the quizzes timed. I test better w/o the pressure. I'm using another app as well that doesn't have timed quizzes and I do so well on them. I like this app too because it has extra material. If this feature is added, I'll give 5 stars.
I love this app! I have previously learned hangul, but haven't used it much, so have forgotten a lot of it. I love the tests, and the ability to record your voice and compare it to the native speaker's voice to check your pronunciation. The best part is that the app is completely free! Thanks for giving us such a great app!
i just want to read basic things like how are you and thank you. Food etc. Not much.
Easy to learn! But, I think it will be easier if you write down how we read it, (I mean the alphabet) so the learner know exactly what the speaker are saying. Cause honestly I'm not sure what I've heard is true or not. Thanks anyway!
This was made by a proper institution who cares for hangul. They just want the people to learn it, thats why its free of ads, free of romanization and beautifully crafted. This is the best app avariable to learn.

This is great for beginners. you can study in a non-boring way, and then you can test yourself. it really is great.
I tried like 15 apps to learn Hangul, and this is the best one, especially to practice memorization! The tests availables are really good and make you work on listening, reading. you can practice a bit everyday and in a few days you read Hangul easily 😊😊 Sounds are also very clear. Thanks for this free, great learning tool! (readers: this is just to memorize letters, there's nothing about rules and grammar so you might need to view these things before)
