Take the guesswork out of formulating your own soapy recipe! The Bramble Berry Soapmaking Calculator/Mobile App will accurately calculate saponification (SAP) values for more 60 oils with superfatting ranges up to 20%, allowing you to formulate soapmaking recipes wherever you are and edit them on the fly. The calculator also allows you to easily adjust the yield of your batches so you can use your favorite recipe with any size mold.
The app comes pre-loaded with 6 recipes. You can edit those recipes or make your own from scratch. When you're done soaping, take a photo of the soap to go with its batch card and then share the recipe with friends and fellow soapmakers via email or Twitter. The app works in grams and ounces and allows editing in percentages. Each recipe and batch comes with a NOTES section for you to customize your recipes. Happy soaping!

I would recommend this. I love the feature to set a calendar reminder and add a photo to a batch. Two things I would like: 1) Allow renaming of a batch based upon a recipe 2) Allow resizing of batch based upon oils only. Currently, you can only resize based upon total batch weight. Other than that, it's a very handy app, certainly worth its low price.
Would give 5 stars if this app had a few options important to me such as ...1: needs option to auto save your recipes every time I get a different device my recipes disappear. 2: option to combine both types of lye to have a cream soap. 3: needs a properties graph to show the bar hardness and lather ect. 4: needs option to modify batch size. 5: needs to have option of using ingredient percentages instead of just measurements. Great app otherwise easy to navigate
I am new to soaping and this app is very useful. Very easy to use and having the built in lye calculator makes things much easier. My only complaint is that the app adds in the water and lye weights to the total batch size, which makes the batch not fit in the mold correctly. Mold size calculations are for oil weight only!
You would think for $1.99 you could download recipes from the website, link to products sold on website and add custom ingredients. Also, the online calculator has so many additional items to add which would give a more accurate lye content which would be safer.
Excellent app...portrait/landcape is nice...turn phone to switch. Awesome! Easy to use, pleasant interface, with lots of oils...some you'd think of and some you wouldn't. It allows you to save recipes. It also allows you to change/add individual ingredients or by clicking "yield" the entire recipe will adjust the measurements based on the size of the mold. You can click the menu button and send recipes via email, facebook, pinterest.
This app would be great if it worked. It doesn't. Reminders for batches sounded great. Ok, well. Can't name batches, but can take pics. Ok, yay! BUT- the app changes pics of the soap randomly. So, that feature is useless. Camera freezes it EVERY TIME. Reminder editing freezes app, forget clearing old reminders. No ability to calculate recipe based on oils only. No safeguards built in to tell a new soaper that their recipe will fail (values absent, but thats an ann marie thing). Pass. There are better apps
I love the app, but am hoping for a sign in feature so my recipes are saved so I can use different devices.
Need an integrated fragrance calculator. No place to put fragrance oils and colorants, preferably in list form not just a note box. Needs water discount feature. Can't override lye for things like pulp additions. Too basic for a paid app.
I make soap on a regular basic now I hate to look back at my writing notes every time I'm making soap. I love this app very easy to use and so easy to find my recipe.I recommended it for beginners and professional soap makers.
Only 1 complaint. When saving for a reminder. Typically most soaps are ready in 4-6 weeks. In the case of castille, the cure can be 4-6 months. The app allows only for the most 99 days. That is my only complaint. If it was fixed I will adjust my review to 5 stars.
great because it is simple but, the iPhone version is what i was expecting from the blog videos and this is much much less complete. useless.
I like this app and I want to use it but I like to use percentages like it offers on the website. When I make a new recipe it doesn't offer percentages.
Very useful, very convenient. I would love to see the fragrance calculator incorporated. Also, it would be great if the batch notes could be viewed from the current reminders list.
This is a great basic app, but I would like to see a calculator to use on existing recipes to create larger or smaller batches by resulting weight and a sync feature with drop box so i can access my recipes from my phone or tablet :-)
Wish I could change the water ratios, and see the break down of the percentages

There are several different processes for soap. Some which take more fluid . I find this soap calculator is fine for CP and Crock-Pot HP..but not so much for fluid/liquid HP recipes. Wish there was a way to calculate recipes by also inputting the process used
But I would prefer it give the liquid range instead of just one amount to go by.
I got my frist siap app.. It's work fine.. Except for the photos .. When I changed phone I hve to purchase the app again.. The new app, the reminder calender doesn't work.. Very frustrating..

It's about as good as the free app. Would be so awesome if it had bacon fat as an option.

That's a very good app!! All you need is there but no fragrance calculator so I still have to go to soapcalc... PLEASE fix that! :)
Convenient and easy to use. I would like it better if the app synced across devices.
Would like to know how hard the bar will be, creamy/bubbly, etc. You know...details on the soap like on SoapCalc. That way, I'll know how to adjust the recipe. I actually bought this app as a newbie, but it doesn't have details. Will you please update?
I am happy to have the option to formulate with percentages. Would like a sign in or link to my BB account, I had to change phones and lost all my recipes, plus I can't access the recipes on other devices. Would like reminders for HP soap, minimum timer is 21 days. Would like to name each batch separately, if I use the same recipe for multiple batches they all have the same name, makes it difficult to figure which one is which without going back to the recipe page. Even with images the reminder page changes
