To bad i am forced now in the new app I'm missing more options to configure energy costs to show a propper rerurn of investment. Here we get valueX for energy that we push back to the grid while using requesting the same amount later that year. And valueY for overproduced energy(more then we use within that year). But it is still a very good app with good informtion. It is quick to show instant energy production, and i love the panel overvieuw where you can seen status of eache individual panel
This is so much better than their other newer up which has had an appalling update which makes it really hard to read and interpret. I definitely recommend using this one in preference. This version is much clearer and easier to read and interpret.
This app no longer works on my device. It wants to have a new app 'mysolaredge' installed but this is incompatible with my Android device. Please let me just use the old app!!!!
Just got panels installed. Not too optimistic though since the first design was 16 volts, and my system is 10 volts. Big diffrence in volts!
message says for installers only. the app for owners doesn't let you update electricity unit rates to ensure calculations are correct. making any data other than kwh generation absolutely useless.
Good app. Not able to add users from app or mobile phone. Only way is to do it through desktop/laptop browser. Please add the feature to the app.
Was fantastic, now exclusively for installers. The new "mysolaredge" replacement program is absolute rubbish! I'm replacing my inverter with a fronius.
Extremely limited details - I can't find any way to view system output levels at individual string or actual panel-by-panel level like most of the other systems I looked at buying. And that's even with the Power Optimizers on each panel which I paid extra for. This prevents me from doing any troubleshooting Plus every time I log on I am asked to install some newer version, even though I have done so previously. It's 2022 and these simple features should be installed.
For what it does, the app is fine. It just doesn't do enough. I won't repeat (except to nod to) the problems about update frequency and notifications... these haven't been an issue for us yet... but they are still features that should be incorporated in the app. We have another solar installation that displays both the energy produced and the energy used. Seeing one side is nice, but does not give the complete picture. It's too new (7 months) for us to see hardware problems... I'll chime in on that when/if it happens
The app is easy to use. No crashes. But, it only updates every 4 hours. I teach science and was hoping to use real - time data t in my classroom. So, it's not real time unless you catch it just after an update. I still find myself checking production on the inverter regularly. I sent this feedback /suggestion in to the company and didn't hear back. Not sure if they're working on that.
Would make it more useful if it could show the power I'm using along with whats generated. The screenshots of the app have this chart, but not the app itself? Wrong advertising? The power generated depends on the heat; it would be great to have an overlay of the temperature. This is measured, and I can see it in the inverter. Also, the time lag between data refresh is about 4 hours - this is a smaller issue than having access to consumption, heat (and other factors).
Good when it works. The app gives a clear record of the power generated by the solar panels at any time. It also gives a record of the energy generated over time (days, weeks, months, years). Recently, the record stopped, so I contacted SolarEdge. They provided instructions on linking the inverter to the internet, as it had lost connection. After some time the app started showing the record. The inverter had kept a record of the energy generated over the gap, so this was transferred.
We've just had our solar system installed. We purchased an electric car to go along with the system. We have tried for days to add the car to the system but every time we do the app closes. When we go back to add the car, the app tries to load the screen but never gets to add the car. I called Solaredge and they said it could be weeks to fix the issue. Told us that the app is the only way to add the car, so we are just out of luck. So frustrated!
Excellent app! Love seeing energy from each panel. I do wish it had the playback feature that is available on the desktop version. The 4-hour time delay may be from your inverter, not the app. The SolarEdge Inverters refresh every four hours or instantaneously, depending on how it communicates. Cellular connection is every 4 hours. There is an option to have your cellular connection refresh more quickly. Check with your installer. Hardwired network connection is instantaneous.
Good system that seems to be flawed by lack of investment in the servers supplying the information which can become overloaded and give wrong information. Most of the time it works fine, but when the app is designed to be used to identify faults, it should fall over in a more controlled manner. Last year I booked 2 days of work and had optimised changes on 3 panels due to the information from the app - the issue issue turned out to be the app not the optimisers.
It's a little slow to load information, but okay. The current weather portion of the app is not very accurate (compared to dedicated weather apps). UPDATE 3/3/2021: I've revised down to one star. The app hasn't worked since mid November 2020. Apparently there is some sort of server software problem they haven't been able to sort out.
Works pretty well to show Solar System/Battery performance. Very slow and irregular status updates. Often 4-6 hours behind real time. When updates are posted, they do include all data (apparently 10-15 minute increments). No user preference or control settings available in this app, beyond units to display. I want the ability to change my battery from "Time-of-use" to "Backup" when Power Outages are predicted. Can't be done with this app.
Month-view chart horizontal axis is definitely not aligned properly. There are other data inconsistencies within the app that make me doubt the accuracy of the charts. I would like to see reporting times closer to live instead of a two hour delay. It would also be nice to have a more comprehensive chart system.
I am in the Software Industry and I consider this app a case study on how to build mobile apps. It provides all you need to know with its simple, modern and aesthetically pleasant screens. Overall a well thought app that will always get the job done. As a bonus, no crashes, no ads and no notifications. Congrats!
EDIT: Reporting stops almost everyday around 12:30pm. It then fills in the rest of the day sometime overnight. Please fix this bug. It would be nice to have an "update now" button rather than viewing 30-60 minute old data. Not sure why only production is shown and not total consumption as well...this would be helpful in adjusting usage. (Even though screenshots show it, it's not on this version - or the browser version)
It's colorful and cute, but doesn't show power by inverter or state of charge by battery. So if you have multiple, you're not sure about what's going on. It also only shows one site, so if you have multiple systems for multiple homes you have to pick your favorite and look at only that one via the mobile app.
