The app's storm/aurora/flare detector automatically starts when your phone boots, and you will receive alerts whether or not SolarisAlpha is running (uncheck "Start detector at boot" from Solaris' "Settings" menu to disable auto-start on boot). PLEASE NOTE: Android does NOT support start-on-boot of apps stored on the SD card, so you must install SolarisAlpha on your phone to enable this feature.
Download the free Solaris Widget, which displays key data from www.spaceweather.com. Touching the widget automatically opens Solaris Alpha.

Needs an update badly
I loved this app until the solar images stopped updating many many months ago, a year now maybe... I lost count. "Spacecraft in low data rate mode; recent image not available."
Error message continually pops up , stUd on screen , unable to validate licence. It use to work great but now needs to be updated. I uninstalled then reinstalled it it was supposed to fix this bug but did not still will not work. same error message .
Loved this app for years, now that I've installed Cyanogenmod 13 on my GS4 it just crashes when I try to open it. Bummer.
I was really excited to get notifications on cool space stuff, but I was NOT excited to go into my photo gallery only to find it filled with pictures of the 3D earth map. Thanks, but no thanks. Glad I spent $1.99 to have my phone filled with junk.
It is really irritating to have this app saving pictures daily to my phone and I can find no way to disable this feature. I am about to disable the app just to get rid of that annoyance. Please make this optional!
hasn't been updated since 2015. doesn't pull aurora data any more. it's a shame. this app was great.
There is no reason this sort of app needs access to my call history and other details. Once a fantastic app, lost to data whoring.
Fix - update fixed the menu issue.
From NASA'a website: spacecraft is in safe mode for the superior solar conjunction. Normal operations expected to resume July 2015. What a bummer.
I have used this app for years now, and it is hands down the best. Tried several others, but always end up sticking with this one. Everything you need is in this app!
Love the fact I can simply go to Solaris and get instant auroral information without having to search on my desktop. Continually updated and improved! Worth every penny and more!!
I have depended on the pro version for both real-time information and alerts for several years and have used it to view every event from C up. The developer responded promptly to a change in data source with a revised version that works perfectly. This is a must-have for anyone interested in solar phenomena.
Great app for daily proximity and reverence checks to the Power of The "Son": I check the sun's influence on Earth's halo, then humbly check my halo to do more good works. Then I get happy and do the Solar Freeze. Have you heard about my new "Solar Freeze Dance"? Set up solar alerts; Then you freeze when the next major Solar Xray hits you! Then run like hell & find cover. Keep up the good work Tomasso!
People expect me to know the best apps to put on their phones & are always asking. This is one of my favourites to show them. Wonderful for anyone into space. Currently suffering from changes beyond the developer's control but bear with it.
I am a science nerd so this app is perfect for me. I also use it as a homeschooling tool to teach my daughter. We enjoy looking up more information about the solar flares and storms. My only complaint is that I would like to see the 3D sun but haven't figured out how to do that. This isn't an app issue, strictly a user issue.
I am not sure what's wrong but ever since there has been solar pole flip in news this app has gone away
First app i have ever bought on google would like to see tsunami alerts. appart from that works very well. Best on android . got there suppose takes time so much better than it was . :-)

Hi I love this and have been looking for a good sun app and I am picky with my apps l love the alerts and additional info links I have learnt alot well done worth the money
Was 5 star but now randomly using way too much battery/cpu time since upgrading to android 4.4.2 on galaxy note 3. Please fix..
