SOLE Fitness App

SOLE Fitness App connects to your Treadmill, Bike or Elliptical via Bluetooth. You can view current workout data in three different Display screens on your device. Easily switch back and forth from the workout display view to internet/social media/email sites via icons on the display screen. When your workout is finished, the data is automatically uploaded to your personal calendar for future reference.

Can not register. App connected to my device and machine, but since I can not register it is useless. Seems like something they could easily fix.

Disappointed. I was excited when I thought I could export my sole f63 treadmill workout data to the Garmin Connect app by connecting my account. But the sole fitness app only imports workouts from Garmin connect into the sole fitness app calendar. This is useless to me since Garmin Connect is where I track all daily activity, health, and nutrition intake. Now I have to track my treadmill workouts with both apps so I can manually adjust distance, mph, etc in the Garmin connect record.

This app works, but I could select a workout with the same functionality as the treadmill offers on the screen. I want to select a distance; among other issues, the app is just not useful. I'll stick to Samsung Health that connects to my watch. At least the information is recorded and reliable. I just don't use this app.

I can access the app via Bluetooth with a Samsung tablet and run the speakers (prefer earbuds though). Has all the controls as the lcd monitor of the F63. The HRM chest strap that came with the machine will not link to the F65 and the battery was good (Sole said they would send a new one out to me). Did not add the Garmin as the information goes to China. That's a NO. Don't understand why access to the app must have ALL PERMISSIONS granted (seems very intrusive).

At least I got mine too pair...but... I got further than most. It paired and I'm able to start workouts. But when I finish, it pops up a dialogue saying my workout is complete. There is no button to dismiss this dialog. Pressing the back button doesn't work either. Sometimes the app crashes and I've lost my workout data. Otherwise the only way out is to force close and I've still lost my workout data. Completely useless.

It's gotten better over time. It at least saves your results now, which wasn't always true. It's still got amateurish errors and interface. The decimal place is incorrect on mileage. If you go 2 miles it shows as 0.2 miles. If you specify a workout at level 12 it will increase to about level 8 only. You have to manually increase to the requested level. Getting it to connect to Bluetooth usually requires a very specific order. Turn on the exercise machine. Turn on BT on your device. Start the app.

I got a new Sole F80 treadmill this week and have used it the last two days. Yesterday I paired the app to the treadmill but I selected one of the programmed workouts using the console. Prior to beginning the workout, it let me adjust my age, weight and desired top speed. I completed the workout and checked the app. No workout data. Tried to find a way to manually enter the workout but it doesn't seem to be possible. Today I started a different programmed workout using the app since the point of the app is to record workout data. Unfortunately, there was no way to adjust the desired top speed through the app before beginning the workout. Pressing the Enter key on the console gave me the option to press Enter again to modify setting or press Start to begin the workout. I pressed Enter again, but nothing happened. I started the workout and completed it based on the pre-programmed settings, which were not very intense. Since I'm just getting a feel for the treadmill itself, I wasn't sure how the workout would progress, so I didn't want to make any manual speed or incline adjustments during the workout. Next time I'll know better. So today I was able to record my workout data since I started the workout through the app, but was not able to make any workout adjustments before beginning the workout. Pretty disappointed with this app.

Buggy as heck. I've been waiting for this app to get better, but I'm giving up. New notice popup kept popping up and never stopped. When you stop a program the popup doesn't have a button, so the app is locked up. Sometimes when accessing the calendar feature, I have one of the following problems: it locks up, there is a duplicate entry, or an entry that was there previously is gone. Gets disconnected from the treadmill if running in the background, and treadmill abruptly stops.

Bare minimum functionality with no thought of user experience. This app is only slightly better than the built in LCD on your Sole fitness device in that it let's you login and record your workout data. But that's all it does. You can enter goals, but the app won't give you any feedback at all on your progress or completion of them. When you finish a workout, there's no summary screen to show how great you did. Your reward is landing on an FAQ page which shows you all the ways the app can fail.

Possibly the worst app ever made. I wanted it to setup custom workouts such as changing resistance levels and/or stride lenghth at pre-set points in time. Pretty basic stuff that every piece of gym equipment I've ever used does (some more easily than others). If this app can do that, I can't figure out how. The ONLY thing that it allows me to "customize" is the length of the workout. Why would I, or anyone, want to enter that on my phone when it can so easily be input on the console? Maybe some users prefer to do that on their phone but, as far as I can tell, that is literally the only thing that this app can do beyond basic workout tracking. I truly find it hard to believe that customizing workouts is not available and simple to do. App is absolutely worthless to me.

There are so many problems with this I don't know where to begin. Doesn't switch out of landscape mode constantly crashes, will not allow me to play through the bluetooth speakers, which is the only reason I downloaded it in the first place. I could hire a kid out of an Associate's college and they would be able to do this better. Fix this! It is plainly and simply awful, and unusable! Apps created during Android's first inception performed better.

Man, I thought I could work with the app even after reading all the negative reviews because I really wanted a way to sync my runs, but it was terrible. The app crashes constantly, is terrible to interact with, and didn't even save my run. It really needs a complete overhaul, this feels like it was made by someone in their first programming course.

If I could give zero stars I would! App is useless and straight garbage! The treadmill itself is great but the app fails to connect to my F80. It auto closes with error message every time I try. It's not absolutely necessary but if you offer it as part of your product then it should be able to do the basics. And like others said, the app wants a whole lot of access to things it doesn't need, especially when IT DOES NOT WORK!!

M. P. Jan 20, 2019

The app asks for access to you're location, photos, media, files, and to record audio. Why an app for a treadmill would need that makes no sense, and is rather creepy. I know some apps try to collect data on their customers to sell their info to advertisers, but that's ridiculous considering what I just paid for this machine. Then the app crashed, and won't start at all. Luckily this feature wasn't why I bought the machine so it's not a huge issue, but it would be nice if it worked.

Boy, this app sucks. Changing my review from 2 stars to 1. Can't run the app in the background (to use my music app, say), without it crashing. The ONLY useful feature of this app is tracking your workouts, but it crashes on exit and fails to save the data so frequently you can't even get that benefit. (And at least one of the error messages is in Chinese!) And if you have to pause the elliptical, to take a phone call for example, and the pause on the elliptical times out, the app doesn't save any data. Probably the least useful, least reliable app I've ever downloaded.

Chr. R. Jan 11, 2021

The app is laid out fairly well. Low rating for a couple reasons. Most importantly, the app crashes after a few minutes. Workouts completely lost. Also, the advertisement for the E95 says this app can connect with MyFitnessPal. There are no links or ways to do this that are obvious on the app. I'm hoping for a reply or I'll abandon the idea for seamless workout and syncing between this app and MFP. Probably wouldn't use the app at that point, very disappointing given the price of the machine.

Chr. L. D. Mar 5, 2021

App is not intuitive. Sync does not actually sync all data from treadmill. User profile has a date entry, but doesn't indicate what it is for. Info messeges are cut off and can't be fully read. When the correct data is available, some nice graphs are available... But data drops out and can be missing. I wish there was another viable alternative for long term tracking.

Bry. S. Mar 25, 2021

If I had known the console and assorted apps were going to be this complicated, useless, and basically anti-functional... I probably would have purchased a different treadmill. I chose the sole because it didn't have ifit... and got stuck with something that is probably more irritating than that would have been. Fix this!!! I want to add the apps I use. I want to be able to mirror my TV while walking. I would live to trash these sports apps and news channels that I won't watch. YouTube fails.

This app is really the worst. I was really looking forward to being able to see my workout history ( was using the nike+ and ipad nano for years, until iTunes stopped supporting it) and loved that the new Sole F80 had bluetooth support. They shouldn't even say it supports it, b/c this doesn't. Took me forever to figure out how to properly end a workout (press STOP 2x) and then it stays at "Congratulations....." and doesn't fully end. I look at the calendar and see NO runs. What a waste. Wish I knew if there was another app I could use that would sync with treadmill runs.

Sar. C. Dec 8, 2018

For starters the only thing I can manage to control through the app is the duration of my workout. I have to wait until the treadmill starts up before I can change the max speed. It won't let me used any of the treadmill controls except the start button. I like that it saves all the data but it doesn't connect to any other fitness apps so I still have ti manually enter the info into my fittness tracker which makes saving it basically useless. Would be a whole lot more usefull if it would connect to something like MyFitnessPal. I also have to completely close down the app at the end of a workout it doesn't give me any option to get around the little post work out message box.

Jas. L. Jul 23, 2020

While then app technically works in syncing with my e95, and allows the ability to select a workout on your phone and start it, that is all it does. It does not seem to pass along any of your user settings (age, weight) and it also ignores the level setting and defaults to 5, the lowest. For tracking workouts the data is there but its not presented in any useful format.

Love my Sole tt8 treadmill, but the company should be embarrassed by this app. Tried it on three different "compatible" devices and it crashes, loses data, or (often) will not connect at all. If you read the reviews you'll see these issues have been going on since the app was released. Sole obviously knows their app doesn't work, but continues to promote it as a feature. Oh, there's a newer app, but it requires a touchscreen Sole model. If I had the touchscreen model, I wouldn't need an app!

Gre. H. Feb 11, 2021

What is the point? I get the app to sync with the e95 elliptical, put in a programmed excercise, and at end of work out app congratulates me, and then workout data is lost. No record on the built in calendar, no option to export to another fitness app, just a bunch of busy work with no purpose at the end. Huge disappointment. Please get a competent developer to redesign. High end machine requires a quality app to complete the user experience. I can't recommend Sole until this is fixed.

I like how easily this app connects with my F80, and that it keeps up with my workout data in so many ways ( i.e., Day, Week, Month, Total, etc.) My one complaint is that the display of data in the app is so tiny that I have to hold my phone close to my eyes and squint to see the data tables. I am using this on a Note 9+; I would love to see the app optimized for mobile with larger print on the tables ...or larger print overall.

I use it with Sole Elliptical trainer E95S. The app just has only the very basic functions. I wish hardware manufacturers that can produce great fitness hardware (I think Sole is one of them) will eventually come to an understanding they should not neglect the software side (Apple is a good example). The app should provide more ability to program the User 1 and 2 profiles (the app does not even allow you to program the stride profile - you can only do this on the machine itself). You can synchronize it with just a few external apps (why not Google Fit). You can't download exercises you did a few days ago, only the last one. I don't expect it to do everything, but could you cover just the bare basics?

I liked the automatic saving of workout progress for the week that it worked., but since then it's been nothing but error messages. I think the problem started after connecting other devices to use the treadmill's bluetooth speakers, but i'm done fighting with it. Already tried disconnecting other devices, reinstalling the app, clearing storage, and rebooting all involved devices with no luck.

UPDATE: It has been working well as of late. Moved from 1 star to 3. Still is rather clunky of an app and wish it had a website were the data can viewed as well as the app. ORIGINAL: Crashes every session! Looking for a third party app that is compatible with an f80 treadmill. This clearly is not. We've had it for months now and it has only completed five or so sessions out of 100 where it recorded the data.

Half the functions don't work correctly. Some of the menus are in an Asian language. Doesn't save half the workouts performed. Very poor user interface. Randomly crashes. Only works in landscape mode. Expected something at least functional. Play music through treadmill speakers or connect app can't do both. Overlay apps are useless and half don't work.

Car. N. Apr 27, 2020

The main reasons I wanted this app was to sync workouts on the elliptical with my other workout apps but it seems that those features have been removed. Some people complain of crashing -- I had it crash the first time but has since worked fine it just doesn't do anything other than duplicate the display on the elliptical. It does store your workouts but the interface is terrible so even as a log it isn't great. Without the ability to sync to Fitbit or MyFitnessPal I'm just going to uninstall. The elliptical is a very good machine and definitely worth buying but this is am embarrassment of an app. They would be better off not having an app.

This app is barely functional. It crashed repeatedly as I was trying to open it for the first time. When it finally opened it couldn't maintain a connection to the equipment and kept crashing. This app needs to be pulled from the store and completely redone or just gotten rid of entirely. Thankfully it's free.
