Latest update can only open SEV files from SEV app. Clicking SEV files stored in Dropbox will not open anymore, and it is impossible to open Dropbox files from SEV app. Workaround is to export the file from Dropbox to device, then open from the SEV app, which is far from ideal. Also, from memory, the old app seemed to have better 2 Finger 3D object manipulation. 2 Finger will only drag and zoom now, you cannot rotate at same time. Perhaps my memory is wrong, i can't go back to old app to check...
I was hoping for a fully functioning, readily workable and easy to use portal viewer for my cloud files. Afterall, Solid Edge wouldn't invest so much in the portal only to make the accessibility useless would they? Wrong. It just provide a hyperlink to the internet version. I can do that on chrome, "send to homepage". Lazy, lazy, lazy coding, and while it provides "a solution" it's this kind of laziness that is why SE is still floundering so far behind Solidworks. Create a proper app that businesses can easily use and cast to desktop/chrome/share elsewhere that connects to the portal. Think Google Drive with Solid Edge. Instead, we get this. One star.
What a lousy app! I downloaded it for AR function. But this one totally can't be used for AR. I checked all your website already. I can't find it.
I like this app! Really glad you have rolled it back! One issue I have is files not storing for quick access within the app from Google drive
The latest update has rendered the app unusable. I can no longer select the directory where I store my 3d files.
Not easy to load in a file, only opens from downloads! Can't delete the sample material! Quite hopeless 😕
No experience, but I love it. I'm industrialist so, I'm interested to apply in my industries.
Great app for understanding various mechanical components, machines, etc
Whats the point in having a viewer if you can only view sample files
worst app. doesn't opens 3d files.
Very bad experience with this app please improve it
rubbist developer need more fool brainless person so tbay can spent time this app
Didn't get what I wanted
I love this app for showing potential customers my capabilities. Nothing beats the 3D models for someone to understand what you can do, instead of an image. I agree with many previous reviews for future functions. I had to install it on a tablet, and extract the APK to install it on my Samsung Galaxy S3. It works flawless, but is limited. Would be nice to allow files into another folder of choice on SD card and not only internal SD Documents folder.
Also there is no markup possiblity, no measurement. The feature which is most missed in this release is ability to view the Solid Edge files in their native format. I have to export to SEV and then view it. Its already hard to keep the SEV file updated.
Junk: Another typically non-intuitive Solid Edge program. I have no idea how to upload files to look at, and there is no way for the app to even place files manually. I look for "Solid Edge" in my files and get nothing. If my work did not force Solid Edge down my throat I would not soil my hands with it. This app is no different.
SE Mobile Viewer seems to be a great app. Unfortunately, I'm unable to view any of my par/sev from email, download, or Dropbox. The app says that my part/drawing is there, but its not. Please provide any solutions to my problem. Thanks.
Could include local file management folder, more settings to save to ".sev" from app using part or assembly files. Provides most basic viewing functionality and works decent with decent gesture control.
I use ST6 and Dropbox. I would like to collaborate with colleagues on drawings, but no success. Am I to assume that I can only view .sev extensions and not .par, .asm, etc? If so, how is this even associated with Solid Edge?
Excellent! I can now easily look at model data on shop floor with my Nexus 7.
About as good as taking a camera shoot of your Solid Edge screen and then looking at it in paint brush. What good is this quadriplegia of a cad file viewer with no functions?
I cant open files .par .dft created on solidedge st9
Great app for my Oppo A57 and Windows 10.
Great application.
Simple to use
Can't open other file,
it's nice
Parts hide and show required
What version of Solid Edge files will this work with? I am currently on ST3 and I have not been able to find a way to open my files. Will this open .STP / .IGS or other 3d files or only Solid Edge files? I think this could have potential, unfortunately I should not rate this but I have to in order to hit the submit button.
Horrible update. There's nothing mobile about the app anymore. It won't work on mobile devices. When I originally installed this app it worked very well with Drop Box, not anymore. Please undo this absolutely abysmal new version and revert back to the version that works. I'd give zero stars for this review if it'd let me!! The old version still exists, send that to the app store so we can update to the version that works.
