Solid Explorer Cast Plugin
The plugin doesn't have its own icon in launcher. In order to launch it, you need to open a media file in Solid Explorer and choose Solid Explorer Cast option as shown on the first screenshot. That's it.

buffering problem between cast
it is too bad
It does play audio and images on my Chromecast and forget videos, videos are extremely slow with this. To make audio and images casting great, I think it should have added a way to make slideshow or just images in row. I had to select a particle l particular photo to cast. And in audio casting too, which though works great in less than 5 sec but still should have added some songs to play in queue.
I've tried everything to get this plug-in to work and it just won't. Maybe it's because it's not compatible with my device (which is an lg g2) but when I select solid explorer cast on the file I want to cast it doesn't show up on the screen. Nor does it give me the cast icon on the top right corner like it's supposed to to toggle casting on and off. All of the Google specific apps that come with casting abilities work except for this one.
Crashes plugin after casting a pic every time. Not sure if its on my end, but it stops to buffer every few seconds when casting 1080 video. Thanks for the great software, but please give it a bit more finessing good sir. Love the heck outta Solid Explorer BTW.
Today was the day I unplugged my old Media Player for good! This App streams MKVs direct from my NAS to the Chromecast at Full-HD no problem. Note that audio needs to be AAC so you may have to convert your files but fingers crossed Google will release an update to fix this soon. Can't be happier!
I really like the app and the dev is doing a great job but the plug in is more or less useless. Wont read many file types - avi,wmv etc. The ones it does cast dont have audio. Gets an A for effort but doesnt meet my needs
Great for caring videos, but I keep having issues with it defending my Chromecast. So say "no chromecast available" after I mess with it for a while (opening and closing solid explorer, etc.) it will finally detect it, but its always an issue. If it worked like it's supposed to, it'd be 5 stars.
Please make it able to select multiple images and change them on screen like a gallery does instead of doing one at a time and back away to change the pictures. The slideshow would be awesome too. I smell the fifth star very soon.
The potential to chromecast every media file on the mobile and n/w is thrilling. Having said that, the plugin is rough around the edges: 1. Disconnecting is buggy as the media file continues to play while the phone is disconnected. Also, should auto disconnect when manually exiting solid explorer. 2. Struggles to stream certain HD files which otherwise work fine using alternatives like Allcast, hence a bit of optimisation is necessitated. On the whole, a much welcome functionality addition to SE. ^_^
The app casts pictures just fine but it won't cast movies. Only way I can get it to cast a movie is to connect to chromecast by selecting a picture, then switch to video folder and select a movie. After that it works. If I try to cast a movie directly it says "chromecast not found". I like Solid overall and if this issue is resolved I will purchase the app as well as some add-ons but in its current state unfortunately I must go back to ES File Explorer, their chromecast add on works perfectly
Having tried a number of the better names with random success, I got round to trying the Cast aspect of Solid Explorer, which I use regularly. It works every time, but for one less important item - Eyeconnect which comes with EyeTV.
Half the time the cast icon does not appear and when it does you're lucky if the video actually plays instead of hanging with the blue cast icon on the screen.
I think it worked once when I tested it after installing but when I actually wanted to use it it just says "No Chromecast available".
Works good for me. I have found that when the cast box is not there reset the app. And by mistake I found out if you hit the play button and it says this video can't be played hit the pause button then the play button again it will start playing I hope this helps
During movie play back over Chromecast, the subtile & language selection option are not available to choose. Slight compromise in cast video quality. Adding these features would really help chromecastians enjoy a lot
Streaming works really well, disconnect seems a bit buggy and can't cast subtitles. But really good apart from that.
It works fine, but it won't cast clips (only images) from wifi smb. I hoped this would be the only Chromecast app i'd need, so i've got vGet & LocalCast apps to do what this Sol.Exp.Plugin can't do, like playback from Web-URL & casting continuous Playlists (m3u). Casting to My Sony Bravia TV's DLNA player & AirPlay would be handy, even to another Smartphone/Tablet like AllCast can do. Anyway, coz it does most things & is so lightweight, its still a keeper.
To be honest almost all the issues I've had with streaming are down to my crappy broadband. The plugin works well otherwise and certainly beats having to use two apps to do the same thing....
An email to the developer gives you a link stating they no longer respond to email. The link is not active and they never update it.
Works very fast, which is the most important thing you'll be looking for in an extension like this. I do hope a "stop" button will be add at some point that will put the cc back in its home screen but that's a minor thing.

Why do I never hear or read about this being a chromcast must have companion app. This app is perfect for streaming local media easily and smoothly.
This app does what it says. It would be AWESOME if there were a way to cast subtitle files. I haven't found an app that does that yet.
When I first tried it long ago it worked wonderfully. Now it simply will not locate my chrome cast.
Other apps have no issues
Deleted my music when I transferred my files from internal storage to my Sd card and won't give me the option to retrieve them..
seems broken with the last update of solid explorer, crashes when trying to cast files on the internal sd
