The app is really nice BUT, after subscribing for a month, I had 2, really bad surprise. FIRST: My subscription was NOT taken into account. SECOND: The only support they have, is their @info mail. I will change my review if it gets fixed, but as of now, it's not. Edit: after a full month running after their support, barely getting a reply, matter has NEVER BEEN FIXED. I wish I could attach their final answer, stating that it's normal my monthly subscription is over after 4 days...

I feel like I'm learning a lot and retaining it b/c the info is presented in small, easy to understand chunks with short examples, quizzes, and a practice problem to do right after learning the info. It makes sense! It would be helpful if there were more practice problems that were optional, but available to the learner if they want to do them.

Great app! So useful for learning different coding languages and goes at a perfect pace, unlike other apps, which really pays in terms of understanding. It also has great UX and graphic design and a superb range of courses. An area of improvement would certainly be the IDE, its very limited in its range of uses, it's less of an IDE and more of a learning tool, which is ok I guess for a free app. Overall, it's really helping me to learn python and eventually C#, keep it up guys👍!!!

Awesome free app! A good idea would be to add a test option to see what you know out of the lessons you've completed so that you know what things to revisit. Also a recap option would be good if you stop learning for a while and want to get back into it without doing everything all over again. Keep up the good work. EDIT: please add a course about AI

The new hearts system is totally useless and not the right move. Many users depend on sololearn without the hearts system. I understand that subscribing to Pro helps sololearn keep on providing content but it's a bad move without the right balance. Look at Duolingo and learn one or two. They have a practice section that enables one gain hearts, I think if you can implement this, it'll go a long way in helping users stay and also win win.

I have no experience with any coding languages. This completely free app does an excellent job introducing the concepts in a simple manner, and has space for practices and challenges to keep you learning more. Each step of the lesson/practice has a comment section where you can ask for help or just read how experienced users think, to solidify your understanding of the lesson and encourage you to think beyond the confines of the class.

I love learn coding with "sololearn". It's great in teaching and practicing codes at all kinds of programming languages. It's so helpful and useful. But there a problem there is too much things to buy in the app. It should have more free things than that you can buy. Ads is too low I love it but when I save a project I can't get it back again at any time.

Only tried the free version at the moment but it has been a great method to keep consistent with daily reminders. I have been using this to keep myself learning in between my online course but this is definitely easier to swallow being straight to the point without the hours of listening to lectures.

I have no programming experience at all and have never done it before. This app is in very small, simple and easy steps which is making learning programming fun and interesting. There is enough exercise after each step which I love. Thanks guys. I have recommended it to everyone in any age who is interested in learning programming. I'm in my 40's and my son is just 9 and we both enjoying it.

I'm on my first learning course with this app and I'm really loving it. I'm only about halfway through the Python course so I haven't seen all the features yet. Good: -the content is REALLY well laid out -small lessons let you set the pace -the end-of-lesson quizzes give you a sense of progress Improve: -the continue button should only be at the end of the content on the page. I have sometimes "continued" without realising there is more! -an indicator of actual time spent would be nice Thanks!

The lessons and quiz questions are poorly constructed, shallow, and ineffective. This app wants your time and money, and won't reward either in a meaningful way. It's possible these courses were "designed by expert programmers", but they *should* have been designed by expert instructors, instead. This is definitely *not* the right way to learn to code, not by any stretch of the imagination.

Best Coding app by far. It's simple, seamless design and course structure is fitted for any person at any level. One room for improvement would be to add more interaction in the courses, i.e for the html and CSS to make a website as you go along so you have something physical that you produced while learning the code. Great work SoloLearn.

Honestly, I really really love this app. I came into it knowing a little bit of C++, but even in the beginning it still taught me. By no means is it perfect, but I think it's really really helpful in learning at least the syntax of code, and I think that's great, because it's simple, intuitive, and really easy to use, so people can just log on, do a few lessons, and then log off, and when they're finished with all the lessons, they can move to an app that teaches them MORE stuff. Great to begin!

Excellent learning app, you could learn proggramming while feeling your progress. However the newly added "Heart System" heavily punishes you for failing and pushes the "pay to learn" strategy, which is the opposite of what I liked about sololearn. In addition the choice to learn offline has been destroyed by the need to do an excercise before continuing your topic, this is bad because the IDE needed to run your code requires the internet

The app is fairly fun, but it definitely needs some work as far as lessons are structured. There also needs to be a glossary for the various symbols and what their function is. Especially at the beginning lessons. As is it can be overwhelming and almost useless as a learning tool for beginners if you don't have someone to help guide you.

I'm not impressed. This app gives information that valuable for a learner but just barely. It is not my Idea of a well developed tutorial on any subject. Maybe I'm not being fair... it just seems to me like each lesson on any given subject is so shallow because I already know the subject matter and because I also study subject's using other apps that allow a much more in-depth learning experience. For example: each lesson could offer the learner speciallittleachievementsorscorefor redoinglessons

I'm enjoying the learning portion, however. Going through the HTML program and noticing that semantic tags aren't full explained and some other basic things. But the most frustrating thing is when in the code editor it will not hold your code. You'll type everything correctly, go to hit run and it's gone. Then go back and maybe a tag is kept but none of the text. Would really like increased reliability. Thanks to the devs who are working tirelessly to keep this up and provide such a great app.

Your app is really good but just add one more feature into the app that when you challenge your friend , the challenge should be started at the same time unlike now where the 1st person have to complete the challenge and the. the second will start. I mean just add both features at same time that if you want you can challenge your friend at the same time. After this, the app will really be great because some of my friends use this app only for coding challenges with Friends.

Two stars because the structure of the courses seem useful and app interface is decent. However, the app crashes every single time I try to launch a practice exercise. Makes the app useless to me as practicing on the go is the whole point. I've contacted the dev, we'll see what they say.

I have enjoyed Sololearn for learning programming. It covers many languages and It does a good job of teaching and covering topics despite the limitations of mobile where you can't exactly type out a lot. I've found this format useful when I want to learn but am on the go or in bed or can't be bothered to bust out my computer lol.

The app is pretty good. The app simplifies learning how to code and makes it fun by having fun quizzes and rewarding you with accolades when you win the quizzes. Also, there is a community which you could count on to answer your questions when you get one, and also the community makes it more easier to learn by sharing knowledge on the platform. If I wanted to list all the goodies about this app, I would surpass Google play word count😅😅 Just get the app, you would love it

Jac. P. Mar 12, 2022

Pretty fair. The app is great easy to use and very user friendly especially with the free trial. The reason it is not 5 stars is because in the later bits of the c# courses the explanations are rushed and not solid(get and set are an example). But other than that pretty great for getting an amateur understanding of a language.

My first exposure to programming and all i can say is that for a self-learn app, it's mind blowing how simplified the courses are, the step by step breakdown, the do it yourself test, the practice, the tons of comments further breakdown from other users etc.. This app is the best way to start your programming journey.

This app is super awesome. Very explanatory, which makes it easy to learn. And the comments section on every page of each lesson? A very good idea! It enables the professionals to add more information on each topic, thereby helping the newbies have a smooth sail through each lesson. I love Sololearn!

Enw. N. May 1, 2022

Great app...but I think the developers should include a DIY feature that encompasses each topic progressively, so you remain familiar with all concepts throughout the course and can always refer back to your code in the future. This would be very helpful cos while it might seem simple when answering questions during the course, it's a different ball game when writing a code from scratch. You seem to forget what you've learnt instantly. But if we had a mastercode to refer to...🤷‍♂️

Bil. J. J. Apr 23, 2022

I really like the app so paid the subscription. However I'd like to see more exercises on concepts when I don't quite get it, some optional repetitive learning to ram it home. It can go from easy to impossible and the explanations can be sparse. Perhaps links to further reading would help.

It one of the best apps i learn so much language despite the only problem that i complain about is adding the heart life , it takes four hours 🤨🤯 to get back to learn because of the mistakes , i need you (the team of Solo learn) to delete this function to let us learn for free because if someone lose all his bits it's going to waste so much time waiting the hearts and is going to hate it . Thank you so much for your interest.

Chr. B. Mar 20, 2022

Still on my free trial, but the courseware has a very similar feel to Duolingo except it has a nice variety of coding languages instead. I'm a big fan of duolingo so something similar for learning coding is a welcome addition to my cell phone. Would definitely recommend to the student looking at coding bootcamps, this will save you a lot of heartache.

Júl. M. Mar 4, 2022

Awful explanations, they just assumed you fully understood the topic without any practice or exercise of it (if you're using the free subscription service that is), and unlike other coding apps, they don't even bother telling how and why you're wrong while coding, it's just overall terrible. The cherry on top though is the premium subscription, it's pretty much required if you want to make the most out of this app. Just avoid this app, there are better alternatives than this.
