Absolutely TERRIBLE setup process. I'm a software developer and techy, and this is the worst UI I've ever seen. I had to do the entire setup process 3 times because when it asks you to name your system or device, if you click the Android back button to close the keyboard it exits the ENTIRE setup process rather than just closing the keyboard. That's one of several major issues. Unreal.

Horrible. Trash. Unusable. If I could give it -10 stars I would. Very finicky/unbearable to set up for my blinds. No Google home integration. Have to pay for IFTT app to get full functionality. Finally got it working, then a month later the app remote for the phone stops working. Not trying to go thru that entire setup again, so have just left it as is. It has been impossible to set up correctly for my retractable awning. They need to go back to the drawing board for this app

If I could give it zero stars, I would. The app can take up to 30 seconds to open, every command takes a very long time. In addition, it is unstable, it loses settings. It is also unpredictable: sometimes some commands fail, other times other comnands fail. The app is very clumsily designed and looks like an app from 15 years ago. I bought my blinds hoping to have them automated and the whole system is pure garbage.

Very good app and works well for me. It's a little confusing that there are two separate Alexa skills which do different things, but once you figure out what does what, it's pretty slick. One feature I love is that I can use 16 channels, even if my remote has only 5. I plan to use some of the "extras" for creating more groups in addition to the individual blinds on the remote channels.

There are major UX issues with this app. Creating a group is confusing as you do not have any idea of what you have added to the group (which is more frustrating as the size of the group chages). It is not clear how to delete things (sometimes I can swipe, others it doesn't appear to be an option). The fact that I need to unplug a separate mylink when updating another is also very frustrating. Startup time is also slow. The only positive is the app does function in terms of opening my blinds

I consider myself very technologically proficient, but I still had a hard time pairing up my blinds with the app. The UX is appalling. I had to restart the process 4 times. Once it's paired, it doesn't get better. Setting up scenes and schedules is the opposite of intuitive. I can't fathom how it's possible they looked at the app and thought it was good to release to the public. I'm integrating this with a separate home automation system so I hopefully won't have to use this app again.

There is nothing good about this app. It takes too long to open; the scenes can only be set to closed up or closed down; use of the app is not intuitive. Except for the part where I hate having ANOTHER remote in my house, the remote is far better than the app. The product itself is bs, too. Out of 4 windows (the max supported by a single hub) at least 2 move/respond at a different pace when trying to set them simultaneously, which makes the light in my room uneven and a bit disjarring.

Ok, but needs more features. The application needs to have modes. For example "At Home" "Away" or "Sleeping". The modes could either be triggered based on time or manually. Each mode would potentially trigger scenes and enable or disable timed events. For example, at sunset I raise my rear shutters, but I don't want to do that if I am away.

When it works, it's great; however, any time there is a need to update the MyLink wifi plug, it never works. It gets stuck in an endless loop of resetting but not updating. It is beyond frustrating because it shouldn't be this difficult. Really wish it was more seamless and that the updates were automatic.

Love it! It has it's tricks as many other similar devices. Somfy support was really helpful, they tought me how to make the adjustments I needed over the phone, like removing the "remotes" I programmed by mistake. It's range is limited so extra devices are needed when the house is big, one per room is the best option. It MUST be as close as possible to your wifi router when programming, then move it to it's asigned outlet. It's the best DIY option in the market.

This APP is terrible!! Should rate - Star!! Not intuitive! Can't get the scenes to work! I can't believe in today's environment of technology the APP does not show if the shades are up or down!!! worst yet in order to get an update you need to unplug the transmitter out of the outlet twice! Can't get it to do it either!!!! The company needs to invest on the APP!!! Or hire the right people!

Ok updating review. Instructions are useless. After being frustrated I called support and support did walk me through configuring the software to connect to a roller shade. I figured I'd be able to program the rest rather quickly. However, the software would error and not find the network even though I was right next to my router and the somfy my link. Tried multiple times with 3g and 5g wifi networks and constant errors. Eventually got everything working using 3g. Shouldn't be that difficult.

Works well, but slow to load. When I open the app, it takes about 20 seconds to load. I could grab the remote more quickly. Also, cannot use the app when I am not on my home WiFi network, so I cannot open or close anything remotely, even using Alexa. Otherwise, the app works well.

This app is difficult to use, takes a very long time to setup, with outdated UI and very poor UX. With a background in software engineering, if its hard for me, I imagine most people just give up and use their physical remotes. I should not need to do the entire setup process for every single window covering in my house, which takes about 10 minutes once you get the hang of it. With 16 windows I need to add spending over 2.5 hours (and that is best case scenario) to just have the ability to control each window individually is laughable that Somfy believed this app would be a widely adopted solution. I would prefer swan diving off my roof and experiencing the pain that comes from those injuries, than have to program my home with this app. Once completing that chore, you then get to go through yet another "feature" where you setup each room or "scene" so you can control a set of windows instead of one at a time. This is the most blatantly display of engineering laziness I have seen in an app peddled as a solution for your "Smart Home" ever. Cant wait for an app, most likely already in development that some 12 year old is building, that disrupts this niche market, and makes this solution obsolete. TLDR: If you enjoy being frustrated, interacting with unintuitive and inefficient apps that actually make it harder and more difficult to enjoy your life you have found the holy grail.

Generation 1 can be a tough set up, 1st time was easy, after firmware's, issues connecting to wifi at set up. I now have version 2 and set up is much easier. I find integration with Alexa clunky due to the verbiage needed to get blinds and drapes to react. I think that's more an Alexa issue. Timed open/close schedules are flawless.

Setup process was really difficult. Could not get my phone to find the hub after reconnecting back to my WiFi. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app fixed the issue. Also a lot of the text fields in the app will randomly have their content deleted or not support autocomplete. Honestly the app just needs some love to make it great

Previously 5 stars...now the app is totally broken and will not connect to my remote plugged in near my somfy shades. The batteries are charged and the shades work despite the app not being able to control them, so Im not sure what happened. Frustrating. The remote setup hangs at step 4 and will not complete the setup process.

The app is full of bugs, very slow. The device box says it connects with Google Assistant but when I click on Integration menu item in the app it does not show Google Assistant while it shows Alexa and few other (facepalm). Thinking of returning this device and uninstalling this app as it was pure waste of time and money.

Very inconsistent app, using it to raise or lower shades. You can press the up or down arrow. The shade starts moving after sometimes 30 seconds delay. You hit the stop button and it doesn't respond for 30 more seconds. Not helpful at all.

This app and corresponding product used to be functional. However, that was for a previous version. Since the update, I have to be on my home wifi network to control the product which is pointless for me. Tried calling customer support and after waiting hours (without exaggeration) to speak to anyone in customer support, I havent been successful yet. I also tried the call back feature on the support line for a promised call within 2 hours...well it's been 2 weeks and still no call back.

Android version of app won't link mylink with Alexa!!! In integration tab the "sign in with amazon" link isn't present, tested on galaxy note 10+, Pixel 2 XL, and 2 other Android devices. Going to have to get an Apple device just to try to get over $10k in window coverings working with Alexa. Pissed. Somfy has it down with controllers, motors, and switches but software is subpar. App is very primitive and has serious issues on Android.

I bought the mylink gateway to integrate my Sunsetter with Alexa. This was a precursor to integrating to my Florida, Great room and kitchen windows and skylights. Somfy app as a remote was a second thought. The app works fine when my cellphone is connected to my router wifi. When I switched my cellphone to my 4g cellular provider, the app refuses to work. Spent two solid days working with customer service but cannot use as advertised. Will be deleting this app and returning the mylink gateway.

Software update process is cumbersome when it works (I have to unplug/plug/unplug/plug in 5 second intervals? Really?). But most of the time the update doesn't work...just keeps asking me to do the above. And please, Somfy, don't tell me to contact customer support. This has been going on for years and has happened to enuf ppl based on reviews I've read that this is not some sort of one-off type thing. You just don't care and refuse to fix the issue. U're Alexa integration sux too, but I'm not rating that here. Otherwise it would be 1 star.

Slow, unstable and inefficient. I don't recommend this product at all. Despite what the product implies, there is no native Google Assistant support. You have to use IFTTT with a paid subscription if you want more than 5 routines. Get a Bond Home bridge instead. It's waaay cheaper and works waaay better.

Lots of room for improvement. Takes a long time to connect. Freezes. Bad UX. Scenes and schedules are a mess. Integrations are very very immature. Lots of room to improve with user feedback and modern design treatment. Servers go down constantly.

Really slow to start up. Setup process hangs if I press the hide keyboard button at any point and I have to reset the device and start over. Iftt integration is completely broken. It just says "error in getting activation code".

Used to work, but now the device won't update its firmware and I can't get it to work on my Samsung S22. Tech support has been useless so far. Disappointing that this issue has been going since February and is still not resolved.
