Like others have said, the move to a robo-voice was a bad call. But most pressing is that the game doesn't function right... it wont play the song clips and then tells me I got the question wrong. Challenging to get it that way! Additionally, it says there is a new category, 70s classic rock, which I was excited to try, but it never lets me choose it. Some pretty egregious bugs.
What the Actual?!?! Game worked perfectly, synced with my AMZ acct. Was on level 31... now everything is gone? Uninstalled, Reinstalled (repeat) and now it won't even start up. In the middle of a game, it just reset and all went away. Very disappointing as this was a simple straight forward interface and app. I realize things are always arched to monetize; but big fail for us causal users who just wanted to keep our music trivia and good vibes.
Great game with a flaw. The game format is great in which you feel as though you are playing an opponent in real time (though I'm sure it is not). Voice recognition is superb as it rarely misunderstands me. The flaw? The limited song database causes many repeat songs. I played 30 games, and I must have heard "King of the Road" 6 times! Also, I'm curious why no Beatles songs since I assume that these short clips don't need permissions. Great game though, especially as a hands-free car game!
Mildly entertaining. Better through Google Assistant than in the app, but both are annoying when it comes to speaking punctuation. Started to get repetitive quickly, and it lost some of the excitement when I realized you're not really playing live one-on-one so your opponent doesn't know when you took him to town. Needs more songs, and a variety of clips from each song. Google Assistant and app versions don't seem to know about each other.
the idea is great, but there are some things that need fixing. 1- when I played it through Google assistant it showed me buttons I can press. and that's helpful because of the second point 2- the voice recognition software doesn't work correctly every time. sometimes I say the answer correctly but it doesn't interpret it correctly and I lose because of that 🙃 other than that, the game is awesome, and I hope they fix those issues
Great game. Easy to understand. Can choose to play with a friend, a group of people, or alone. The music is randomly selected from the time of which you choose. The choices are 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, 2000. Recieve points for the name of the song and also recieve points for the correct artist. If both the song and artist are correctly guessed, double the points are recieved with a word of praise from the automated game host. For example "whamo".
I played Song Quiz for 2 years and just recently they completely changed it. The voice is more "robotic" and boring, it often hears your answers inaccurately, and now a game that had been free for so long is not only paid but expensive for a worse version. The one upside was adding genres to choose from, too bad it's not worth playing anymore.
My experience was horrible. When my sister invited me it took lot longer for it to even pop up on my screen ,she had to send it to me about 3 times. When we were finally able to play against each other, it worked just fine for me with the 7 questions. Then she tried doing the questions,but it didn't even do anything. The yellow dots just kept going and going on forever. She clicked allow permission for the microphone and when she speaks, the yellow dots are still loading Fix this on chromebook.
Game keeps ending early on its own. Tried to play 3 games, and each time the game ended by itself with no input from the players. Often during the game, the current turn will end abruptly and count the guess as wrong even though no one said anything. Its rough on the Google home, but don't waste your time trying to play this via the app on the phone.
ABSOLUTELY RUINED THIS APP!!! Used to be able to run this app within the assistant, now it completely stutters and performs terribly while showing pointless color graphics that just wastes battery power. I went from playing this daily, for at least a year, to it being unusable, way to ruin your product. Additionally, they seem to have reset my entire account history and reset my achievements.
Although I like the song decades options, there isn't enough challenge to this app with the same old songs being repeated when you're playing other opponents it makes it very boring !! Pay attention app staff ! There are a lot more songs than, brown sugar, satisfaction, Ruby Tuesday or Surfin USA?! LOL !! Also, who is the most proficient in songs in a row should be part of the program what is the record for answering correct songs in a row?
Would like a future update with genres, but I understand they are often very subjective with certain songs. I do get repeats after several plays of the same decade. Occasionally, I'll say an artist name that is COMPLETELY off but still get the answer right, which can be hilarious depending on what was said. Fun game to play on my Google Home Mini.
Needs a lot of improvement. The voice assistant spells the alphabets of the countries in the beginning instead of speaking word. The game is too slow because the voice assistant mentions all the point status and we have to wait for the next song for a while untill she's finished speaking. It would be better if you'd display the points on the screen and straight away jump to the next song instead of have the voice assistant to mention all the details. Speech recognition is also very bad.
Help. My song quiz won't come on at all anymore. I haven't been playing as much but now I press a year an it clicks off. I don't want to start over an lose my score like a few years ago. This is not the first time I have had trouble. I really love this game. So help!!!
I see Volley is really interested in their customers' reviews. It doesn't seem like they've commented on ANY issues expressed in them. Volley, you could really have something with this app, if only you would put a little work into it. I love the G Assistant version but the app doesn't reflect my Gold subscription. What is the point of using the Android app if it's not tied to the assistant version?
I would be giving this five stars but I'm only giving it one and I tell you why it's because I accumulated a lot of points on the original version and I was really really high ranked and I had like 30 plus wins in a row and now I'm dwindled down to nothing after all of that time and effort wasted. And so to the developers or whoever decided to change all this up? That's messed up that you didn't advance the people that have already had built something on this. Very discouraging.
I enjoy the app but I would enjoy it more if you had the option of genres in addition to decades. I would also like if the decades included earlier decades. The only real problem I have is that sometimes ( maybe 20% of the time) it doesn't give me the correct points for getting both the title and artist correct.
Absolutely fantastic although the stay at home party needs more songs on it or a random selection day by day that would make it far more interesting and less predictable. Apart from more songs absolutely amazing playing people from all over the world and whooping them 🤣 has become a weekend drinking past time. Racking up those points......
I love this game but I gave it only 3 stars because I play it alot and there are si many repeated songs it asks for the decade and with 10 years in each you would think there would be way more songs. I would like to see more specific genres Hard Rock, Soft Rock, Country, Country Oldies etc. Going to keep playing hopefully see some changes soon
Loved this game. Super disappointed to start a game and the whole thing changed. The voice is different, games are shorter, pay wall, and where did my points go? Could have kept free as it was and added paid content as a bonus on top!
Took the fun of the original game, turned the voice into more of a robot and added a paywall. Literally did everything wrong and absolutely ruined one of the fun and small time wasters while driving a longer commute. Would never support a business that does this.
I love this game. You & another random player play against each other to name the song title and artist after you've heard a clip of the original music. it is an easy game to play it doesn't take up much room on your phone. The only thing I have against it is that sometimes the bot doesn't recognize the words that I say and I miss out on getting all the points I need
Game used to work perfectly. It very rarely misheard my answers (that was usually when my kid wouldn't stop talking) and it was so fun. Now it doesn't work at all. I open the app, select my decade, and when it asks how many people are playing, I answer only for it to spin and error out. This needs to be fixed. I have trouble doing dishes and laundry without this to entertain me.
