SongBook

Brilliant. spent months creating my own song book and this does it all in seconds plus adds loads of features. I can't rate it highly enough. It shows chords for lots of instruments, so much so that I'm thinking of getting a banjo as my guitar songs will be converted instantly. Fantastic. Note that it is a tool to make your own songbook, there are no songs in the app itself but it's really easy to import from various sources. Andreas who created it is really helpful, don't heed the bad reviews.

Brilliant app but windows version no longer works properly with google drive. I have been using this for several years but recent google changes mean the desktop app simply does not work with google shortcuts. Unless all the folders in drive/songbook are real(not shortcuts) you cannot access them. Its a showstopper for me.

We use it for live play. As a musician my jobs got easier. This app has been very reliable, I use it with a foot switch and it has become very easy, once I learned how to operate the program! It's my fourth year in use!!! LIFE SAVER! LOVE IT!!!!! It's now been over five years!!! And 100% Great!!!! Posted 04/28/2022

Latest update broke the search function. I've been using this app in a stage situation for the past 6 years, and whatever happened in the latest update made it completely unusable. I can search for a song and then after going back to the search box, everything is empty until you exit and relaunch the app. Developersplease address this issue! I've purchased this app on windows, iOS and Android.

Wanted a simple song organizer to easily access PDF's of song lyrics I have created. I just bought a new Chromebook so it is running that OS. I cant get the app to respond to anything. I don't download chord chart from the internet and don't need that. Don't need transposing features either - I've been playing 55 years. Can't find menus to import, add, or anything for all practical purposes. As a professional musician I am very dissatisfied and may have to find an alternative. I

Great songbook app, so many features! I also am a speaker with Toastmaster's International and this works very well for speech teleprompter! You can use line breaks to allow for pauses, use the notes feature to remind yourself of outside events (PowerPoint slides, props etc.) Edit 12-2021 - There was a wonderful feature which allowed one to convert downloaded songs to Chordpro format. I don't see it any longer. :( I hope it is just a minor error on my part!

PLEASE MAKE CAPO SETTINGS LOCAL TO EACH DEVICE. Acoustic guitar guy sets up to play with capo and it changes the key for the entire band. Not a fun surprise during a live set. This one change could make SongBook viable for real world use. You are so close. Please fix that one ENORMOUS flaw. ADDITIONAL INFO: Nothing I do in user settings changes the fact that when one person changes a capo setting it saves it to the song file for everyone.

Use this all my uke shows, as do my friends. Love that it scrolls. It took a while but now crafting songs is easy. Also can cast from my tablet so a room full of people can use just my one screen.

Its a very good app, the easiest to use, and to perform with. The editing is fine. I wish it had the "convert to chordpro" function that's available on the iPad version. If it had scalable pdf, note writing, and "pdf file send" it would be perfect.

Great app. Been using this for 4 years. Its brilliant in live band situation including G jamming at home. I did notice that all of a sudden the screen went blank with no words and I needed to reinstall. Other that this I really recommend

Very useful but with a few limitations. Can't find out how to put a page break into the file. Seems such a simple thing.

This company is a mess If someone in your band says buy Songbook pro and you search for it you get another company's version of the program. It looks 90% the same. But try to hook up to your band and it doesn't work. You just paid for 3 versions of the program and they are all the wrong one. No refunds. They should just change the name! I bought the PC version on MS store.. but it is not the PC it is windows tablet -a crippled version. Complain and they laugh at you. Just Don't buy it!

App worked great at first, but now it just freezes up and is pretty useless. I had 1 song and it was good. 2 songs was good. I tried importing a song, it came out as garbled. Problem is that I can't delete the song that is messed up, everything freezes. I know people who use this and recommended it, but not for me. I think I bought a lemon. The Bluetooth page turner I bought has an app, so I'll probably have no choice, but to use it. EDIT: It let me delete the bad files and all is working now.

I have bought both versions for Android and for the iPad. The biggest difference (aside from the GUI) is the selection of fonts which is very limited in the Android version. The fixed font doesn't support bold or italic. A request for the developer; in our country we have a slightly different denomination of the notes (Bb = B, B = H) and for this reason I need to write chords in a separate line with {c:} other than using [ ] for chords, which is all good but then I can't transpose the songs.

I go to a group of mixed ability guitar players and as we all have different musical tastes, carrying trees full of printed music as well as gear was becoming cumbersome. All my music across multiple apps and the ability to let the group share my folder and me theirs. Er Wow! I use it on android and windows, (seperate purchases required) but well worth the money. Highly recommend this app.

Great app! The ChordPro standard is supported better than other apps tested. I especially love the jazz grid {sog}{eog}. I use the PC app for editing, and the mobile app for performance and last minute changes. The Google Drive sync work flawlessly. I would love to see 2 things, though. First, an undo history so you can go back multiple changes instead of just one. That might be more applicable to the PC version. Second, some way to mark up/annotate PDFs, like a overlay one could draw on.

Brilliant, only improvement i can think of is a means of a highlight that follows the music timbase across the lyrics for when that mental block hits you and you can see exactly where you are on the page. I've used it for a few years now and seen the development. I have had freezing issues but that was due to low storage and memory capacity, give it space to function and it runs problem free.

This app is highly versatile across different instrument because you see the finger positions for different instruments like piano and guitar and base, uke etc.. Its an impressive feature. Ive been using onsong before. And one feature i wished this had to make it on par if not better than onsong is the ability to generate a combined PDF of all the songs in a songlist so that it can be easily distributed to the rest of the band via pdf. Great app

Really pleased with this app. Does (nearly) everything I need and although there was a little bit of work to getting my song library into chord.pro format now it's loaded it's so easy to organise and edit. Relying on this now. Excellent featues for playing live with many options and control. Just one thing that would make it even better would be if instruments could be pinned individual songs and not only a global setting.

Trying to get this set up has been a pain in the bum. I got it because I had wanted songs to scroll whilst being played. I could not get songs to transfer so then I find that it won't do word docs. So I see where it will do pdf format, so I go back to my computer and laboriously change everything to pdf - 1 file at a time. Then transfer them only to find that no, it won't scroll pdf format. What a bloody waste of time and money this has been!

Good prog. I only use the APK and It works OK. I would like to see some better implementation of RTL languages like Hebrew and Arabic. With these, editing is pretty cumbersome on my Android at the time. Also the import of files from the Internet would profit greatly from automatic recognition and adaptation of the chords (adding brackets). Thanks for this useful software. Blessings.

I thought this would be a good option for getting lyrics and chords from internet. However, when I copied my first song and posted it into Songbook, it rearranged all the text and the chord changes were not over the lyrics (as the were when I copied them). If this is the way songs get imported, this is totally worthless.

i love and hate this app. its great for gigs after you've written everything in. my biggest gripes are as follows. 1. chords are not already listed. you just get what I assume is an HTML bracket to insert the chord. 2. if you want something highlighted, italics, etc you must use the code bracket for that selected section instead of just highlighting the word and checking a box. I'm a musician, not a programmer or website builder. there is not enough space for the rest.

Easy to use. Cross platform and imports. Love it

Overall a very useful app. My biggest complaint is the downloads, in most cases, does not capture the song title in the file list. The title has to be programed. I have 900 tunes and I am slowly going through all of them to program the title.
