Sonic 4™ Episode I

To those who never played this game, it absolutely is worth it. The controls are small and can't be changed, but they are not difficult and it's still easy to control Sonic's direction. The boss fights take ideas from older ones and put a little spin to them. The cam may always stick low in some boss fights, but this is a great high speed game with some unique features. Just keep a open mind when playing it, don't immediately go into hate. You'll love it, trust me.

It's already a mediocre game on console, but that feeling is further amplified in this mobile port. The touch controls are clunky, there's a little screen crunch, all of the sound effects are lower pitched, which sounds wrong, and you're forced to use tilt controls in the special stages, making already challenging stages almost impossible. If you're gonna play this game, stick with the console version, preferably the PS3 or Wii versions where the shading isn't overdone.

Everything is as best as Everything. The controls, graphics, bugfixes, and hard levels are awesome!!! If you fix the delay of the invincibility music, i will play this game alot more often. The only other things that needs to be fixed is that the sound effects are low pitches. Either way this game is cool(i am not enjoying the invincibility music). Also the bosses are lame but easy SO if you think this is true like me, ALL THE bosses are sooo FUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNN!!!

3 starts because sound effects do not work. Please fix. Otherwise good and underrated game. Edit: okay I used earphones and then sound effects worked and then disconnected them and they worked through the phone's speakers. Then I quit the game and started again and the sound effects didn't work again! I will blame my phone on this one but it's still weird. 4 stars.

Ok so this is quite a bit later than the time of release, but this could still help nonetheless. So if you want to play this game for some godforsaken reason, then play this version. The 3 stars I gave it was based of the port not the game, considering the game is atrocious. The graphics look a hell of a lot better, and good riddance for the weird cel-shading whatever the console version was supposed to look like. Sound is eh, but honestly I don't think that matters much. All in all 3/5.

Don't get me wrong: classic Sonic is awesome, but only when done right. Sonic 4 captures the looks and sounds of a good classic Sonic game for the most part, but where it falls is the flow. Sonic accelerates really oddly and has no momentum whatsoever, making it feel much different than the momentum-based games from the noughties. It's also pathetically short, having only 4 zones (compared to the 6 in the first game). But hey, it could be worse-- at least it isn't Sonic Genesis GBA...

Sure Sonic 4 episode 1 is an enjoyable game for die hard fans of the blue blur and you can definitely benefit alot from its sense of speed, visuals and presentation but in the end it is plagued with stiff controls, bad camera movement and some poor level designs that totally brings down the Sonic experience. Worth a buy but it doesn't deserve to be called a follow up from the critically acclaimed retro trilogy.

It's a good game if you're a true sonic fan and true to the franchise. When I loaded the game up on my S9+ it said something about the last update for the game may not work for my phone and said something about contact the developers and where I should go to find the correct version update for this phone. I noticed on the title screen sonic's moving hand is not attached to his arm so I thought it was a bug of sorts. If I could get some aid that would be much appreciated Sega

Kinda worse than the original, but not too bad. Negative things? Plenty. Loading screens on stages, that are longer than SONIC '06, buttons are so small it's sometimes hard to control Sonic, physics are still not that great, and the sound effects are pitched down. There is something positive. The sprites are now not extremely shiny. That's something good at least. It's not the best, but at least we got another Sonic game for mobile.

I feel like I'm one of the wierd few people who enjoy this game. I wish you could use a controller though. Also some sounds like the famous "SEGA jingle" are played at a lower than usual pitch. Also I wish to have regular touch controls for Lost Labytinth Zone Act 2 and all Special Stages. For a cheap Sonic game, I still say this is kind of fun.

I LOVE this game. I know there is only four zones. sonic doesn't control properly. The d-pad is so small (on a Samsung note five). but over all the game is really good, so that's why I rate this game four stars. Bouns:The graphics are good.The controls are ok. And the gameplay is nice.

It's okay. I appreciate you rebuilding the game to finally be compatible with newer versions of Android. However, the graphics seem a bit stretched (at least on my Galaxy S7E) and several sounds are playing at the wrong pitch.

Sega, i need you to fix the game. Well to that: The buttons are to small, the loading is so slow, why tilt to get the chaos emeralds, and when sonic is in his super form, the theme is just the invinciblity theme instead of the super theme + his super animation looks like he's scared and glitched. And the game does not save data, it erases the data on the game and i have to start all over! Please fix so i can enjoy the game better than the PS3, xbox and wii. Please respond.

awesome game but the controler support should be updated to be more like Sonic 4 episode 2 which works fine. Also there's some kind of glich that messed up the sound effects even if I uninstall the game the glich is still there I tried looking at the files and nothing! Please fix!

Can you PLEASE update the game to use Episode 2's physics and control? You updated Sonic's model and shading to match, so why not? It'd go a long way into making the game more bearable. Also the SEGA chime sounds like it has a cold.

Worst VERSION of this game by far. Sonic 4 itself could be enjoyable on a car trip or something, I would STRONGLY recommend downloading Dolphin and the WiiWare version of this game and emulating it on your phone, or pickup the PC version.

Absolutely godawful controls don't waste your time on this unless you have a bluetooth controller. And somehow they have managed to get the physics of sonic's movement even worse than the original 8 bit version on the sega master system.

Not worth 2.99 I booted it up and saw a message saying that it is built for an older android version. Not worth playing unless you have nostalgic memorys of it. But it's not optimized for me so I got my refund. 2 stars for potential if it gets optimized for newer phones and is free like episode 2

This game is amazing and the music is addictive and all, but the special stage is really hard like, even the 1st one is hard asf and the 2nd took me 27 tries to finish, and why is 2 levels removed, world of darkness lost labrynth act 2? Why is it changed to the mine cart? I liked world of darkness better and also neon city or electric road act 2 was changed as well, why? Also the super sonic music is changed to the invincibility music, why? Can you change them all back please?

I put only 2 stars, not only that it's some of the same bosses from the classic times, but the CONTROLS ARE TINY. Please fix this SEGA. And I hate having to tilt my tablet to get the emeralds. also add more time on there, please. I made it to the third special stage and can't get past that. SEGA, if your reading this, PLEASE UPDATE IT IM BEGGING YOU!

The gameplay is fine and all of that but the touch controls are a bit small and the button placement for the wireless controllers are a bit unusual which is why I'm giving it 4 stars.

These levels are nice but WHAT THE HECK lybrith zone boss is almost impossible. And the controls are to small. I know sonic games don't update much but they should really make the controls bigger. Cuz it's to small and I'm a so if fan. I want to play the game. But like I said, they should make the controls bigger.
