Decent experience, it's fun for what it is. It isn't very replayable, however, which is why I'm giving it a middling score. It could really use an endless run mode or something to that effect. I'm kind of surprised there isn't one. While it's better optimized and less bloated than the original Sonic Runners, this version is less interesting without any arcade-like modes, score chaining or leaderboards. Hopefully there's a new edition on the horizon, but I'm doubtful.
I've gotten to 2-1 and it's pretty good so far, there are just 2 thing that could be added to make the game better. The thing I want more is more expression. When the characters do their victory animation they just have a blank face. It would be nice if they had some facial animations. The second thing that could improve the game but is a little optional is a graphics setting. Thanks if you add these!
This is an excellent, very challenging but also very fun, sonic game, with lots of levels and characters to unlock. My only criticism (and the reason I took a star off) is it says you only need an Internet connection for first game launch, but it does a license verification periodically, so you have to have some sort of internet randomly (which isn't always convenient).
The game as a whole is enjoyable, and I always find myself picking it up when I have time to kill. The controls are simple yet responsive, and overall I don't really see any issues aside from maybe stability every now and again. However, I do sometimes wonder if and when we'll get new content, perhaps in the form of a few characters, sort of like the original Runners game, but obviously without the cash-grab roulette system. Any word on any potential future updates, perhaps?
A lacking and mediocre successor to the original Sonic Runners. The most notable problem with this game is its utter lack of content. 9 characters and about 5 worlds that can be 100%ed in just a few days. If this was a free game, it'd at least be tolerable, but to pay money for a worse version of Runners was a tremendous disappointment. What this game needs is updates, adding new characters, new stages, and kind of incentive to play continuously, because as it stands, it's a quick cash-grab.
Simple, fun gameplay if you love Sonic. The levels are well thought out, have throwbacks to the original games and has a cool soundtrack. There is a good level of difficulty - not too easy and not too hard. Also enjoyed how certain characters were needed to complete certain stages utilising their skills - like Tales to fly to higher parts of the levels. The controls are basic though, only relying on you to jump at the right moment. Overall, great for a quick burst of action for a platform game.
I like this game, but I have one problem with it: It's not infinite. There is no such mode where you can truly run forever. I know there are "infinite" levels, but they're not truly infinite. Once you complete your objectives, it's over. What this game needs is an arcade mode where you just run forever and truly have fun with the game. No objectives to complete. Just pure fun. This is an ok game, but I think the original Sonic Runners was better than this one. It had a lot more to it and you actually could run forever.
Not half bad in all honesty. I'm more into the genesis games myself, but overall this is an entertaining and harmless spinoff. The menu screens seem to be running at a lower frame rate than the actual gameplay though, which is weird. This isnt really like the original sonic runners, so go into it looking at the game as its own standalone title and you'll probably have some fun.
This re-enactment of the original Sonic Runners is quite well done if I'd say so myself. I do have one issue, and that's about the springs. There's a slight pause every time you hit the spring and that doesn't settle well with a long time player of Sonic games like me. The only other thing I wished was implemented in this game is to have the original Sonic Runners art style instead of having full 3D models.
On my previous device, this game was alright. A poor replacement for the original Runners, but a functional one nonetheless. After changing to a new (and more powerful) device, I am no longer able to open the game without it crashing to the launcher. I'm running the game on the UMIDIGI One Pro, if that helps, although from what I hear the Devs care about this game as much as the fanbase at this point.
I used to really enjoy the first version of this game, and even the second rendition when it became adventure. However they've really messed up the quality of the game and now it's so streamlined and easy it's boring. If you can find the original Sonic Runners files, play that one. It's far better and actually engages the player so they can get faster and better at it.
Ok. I love Sonic, always have, always will. Sega has always tried their best to make the games good. Not so with Gameloft. OK, gotta admit, the concept is awesome for a mobule game, but the quality is what makes this game dry. The audio is off, the animations aren't smooth, and it just doesnt FEEL like Sonic. If these issues were fixed, I might give it a higher rating, but for now, this is two bucks down the drain. It shouldn't even BE two bucks. Please, Gameloft, fix this!
It's good for the most part but the only thing I hate is a removed most of the things from the original Sonic runners but I love the new detail where you need to complete chapters to get the characters you want and the black outline I don't know if it's in the game and the settings but I don't know
Fun game but I kinda wish I hadn't paid for something I could finish in like 2 days. It may just be me? It isn't that bad because it's an overall good game. But, then what after you finish the story, you get to replay the same levels likeeee? There should be more to the game aside from just the small, short storyline. Maybe online races or something, more to collect even. Maybe it's just me being stingy since I spent my money and realized I already almost finished the game a few hours later.
Game desperately needs an endless run mode to make it a solid experience. Otherwise, it's done & over with far too soon. Incredibly easy to earn enough Rings to unlock and power up every character, and the stages are way too short.
This is a great game, still fun but not as great as the first Sonic Runners which was released a few years ago but then removed from the server. The game mechanics are basically the same & it is still fun & fast though not as many bells & whistles as the first Sonic Runners minus the surplus of buddies & boosts it is still one of the best mobile runners How ever the graphic engine in comparison is far superb to the original with its 3D speed special effects & camera zoom visuals.
They tried, but nothing will beat the original Runners. It has a lot more charm, a good gameplay system that ironically has more than this game, and it felt secured. This feels more like a bootlegged sequel. It's not awful by any means, I've played worse Sonic games, but this is certainly a skip.
This game is fun. It is the only mobile game I have completed. There are five stages in total with 48 courses including boss battles. The boss battles follow a formula but challenges add some variety when you switch characters. Overall, I really enjoyed my time. It took me 15 hours to complete playing over time since August. Thanks Gameloft!
A cheap rip-off of the original Sonic Runners. The story wasn't the strong point of the original either but there was far better variety of characters, potentially endless running, seasonal events and characters, it looked better visually and was free, with optional in app purchases. Would rate this garbage 0 stars if possible. Download the free Sonic Runners Revival instead. Far better use of your time, and still completely free, with all of the seasonal charaacters available year round.
Be nice if it used Google play games sync. I have multiple devices and the other ones I usually let the younger kids play but when they do they start over at the beginning instead of being able to use my save which has characters unlocked and upgraded.
This is Sonic Runners Minus. So many things have been downgraded or even removed from the game. There is no true endless running mode, not even 1/2 the amount of characters, very few buddies, and not that many stages to choose from. The lack of a true endless mode is what hurts most, as it was one of the best parts of the original. Don't spend your money on this, and wait for the Public beta for the Sonic Runners revival project to come out on July 15th.
The later stages of the game does not feel like they were made for the recommended characters. Although the game may look and act like the original, but it feels way to inferior to the original. Stage design makes the challenges more tedious, and is hard to enjoy after the first hour.
This game is actually a lot of fun, I will also always support a one time purchase with no ads or micro transactions. Just a full game! I will add the final start if they could add a few more characters/abilities/sprites or anything for that matter. Don't get me wrong it's good... just could use a bit more. Thanks and hope to see more games like this.
Three Stars out of a possible Five Stars. Sonic Runners Adventure is a better version of the mess that was Sonic Runners. Yes, this game is a better version of a mess. The only relevant thing you control while playing the levels of the game is the "Jump" button and all of the super high bouncing and weird camera angles in the world will not mask this fact. If you already own the original Sonic side scrollers, this game may be worth a purchase on sale. If not, buy Sonic 1 and/or Sonic 2, instead.
I was 7 when I first made this comment and didn't remember much about sonic runners but now I can say that they should not have teamed up with Gameloft and should have went the sonic runners revival route and just redo the parts of the game they were wrong at 1. There are 3 teams and 9 characters. 2. The game is very linear and has no extra game modes. good try though.
This game is brilliant and has so much potential. It's criminal that such a good game can have so few levels. I completed this in less than a month and for a few years now, I just replay old levels, never really achieving anything. It's abandoned and therefore deserves only 1 star, but I can't bring myself to do it.
This is how a mobile game should be like. It has no ads and no in-app purchases. There are no seasons that pressure you to play at someone else's pace. This is a relaxing game. It is a fast and challenging game as well. It is also cute. The levels start off simple and linear, but as you progress the levels become more challenging and there are multiple ways to move through them in this auto-runner. You can play as Sonic in ever level if you want, unlike Sega's newer games that start with Sonic.
