really stupid thing is, no achievements. if you have the sega forever version, there are achievements, but i bought this game before it qas a sega forever title, and when i restored purchase on a new phone, it gives you a link to download this version instead, which lacks achievements, unlike the forever version. there is no excuse for this, as i lost something because i paid for no ads? will make it 5 stars when achievements are added lile they should be
Sega in their grand wisdom programmed the game based on screen refresh rate so the game runs almost double speed on phones with 90hz+ displays. Unplayable.
Game and port is great but really needs to be updated it just doesn't want to run on newer devices and with different resolutions
You change the app from a paid version to free just the for peopel to be forced to watch your ads even though I paid for the full version. So technically this app is a scam
forced 16:9 on 21:9 device. ad-supported version has more features and is updated, unlike this build of the game. otherwise this is still a great game.
I can't restore my previous purchase and multiple attempts to reach out to support team has been unsuccessful. Shouldn't have to play this with ads.
Sega's penchant for regularly releasing different versions of games has left me with another game that i have paid for and can't play! It's not like I've bought sonic for enough platforms already 🤷♂️

Wierd to play this kind of game on a mobile device
I cannot install this on my phone. When i search it in the Playstore i can only find the Classic version. When I state that i already bought it it sends me to the page for SONIC 2. Which i have but i still cant get to this version. I think there is something broken. (and i cant install it from the webpage because it says "An unexpected error has occurred. Please try again later.")
It's well ported even if the touch controls are a little bit hard to grasp. However, I always thought Sonic one was a bit inferior to its sequel. The platforming is annoyingly fiddly and difficult at times and it's visually a bit boring in comparison. It's still good fun, but go for that Sonic 2 or Sonic CD if you only have to play one.
Smooth and fluid graphically that's easy enough to control on screen, but with great compatability with so many HiD's (anyone got the Steam Controller too work with Android yet). One Star lost for lacking any modern connectivity such as Google Play features (Achievements, Google+ Circles challenges, Score boards, etc) / Device: LG G4
This game works well and runs great. The game itself is just like the original. The controls are hard to get used to but they are not impossible to use. The creators added a few things to change this game. For example, you can unlock tails and knuckles. Overall, this game is amazing and is well worth 3$ Found a secret. Start a no save game and pick a random character. As soon as you hear the words Sega hit the buttons S, then E then G than A in that order one at a time. Then hold S and A to get the secret.
Love the game and what you can do in it but sadly when I go to the stage select screen the sound test dose not work on my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and my Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10. It used to work but now it just switches between the number and then ten on top of that like it will go 4, 14, then 4 again on all numbers.
I love this game. sure it has a tinty bit slippery controls but its sonic 1 portable. Plus 2 more things I love you can do the spin dash in sonic 1 wow and tails and knuckles omg love it. But one thing I don't like the spring yard boss make it esayier it to hard to hit robotnik in air and in the original I had no problem reaching please fix but all that aside omg its so fun
It is a great game, and no ads in sight. But this version suffers heavily from a lack of updates and as such, the game fails to support higher resolutions and lacks a great deal of the updates in the free version that contains ads. Same goes for all the games sadly, talk about disappointing...
