Seriously what have you done with this new update. Having to continually reconnect radio stations when I switch it back on. It worked fine before 4-5*. Had no issues apart from losing stations on Tunein because of regulation brought in this year, but it won't connect to the station showing on the Rooms tab, have to go back to MySonos and reconnect
Not used my sonos for a few years, due to all the connection issues etc.. reset and reconnected both S1 speakers. Added spotify and amazon music now. The only downside is it can't find folders / certain songs on my phone. Which would make it a solid 5 *. I have a tv soundbar I've been using for ages now. The difference in quality is noticable. Sonos, sort out the technical problems and you'd be number 1.
Sonically, the equipment sounds great. The software is horrible!!! Half the time I cannot connect to the Equipment, I want to hear a song and it takes 5 to 10 min to get it to play. also WHY DO YOU NOT ALLOW US TO CONNECT VIA BLUETOOTH!!?? I LIVE ON A MOUNTAIN, WHEN MY INTERNET GOES OUT I CANNOT PLAY ANYTHING!!! I have called Sonos and all I get is BS answers. If it doesn't change I will probably go to Bose. At least they work anywhere there is power via bluetooth.
Won't connect to Sonos system after update on Samsung S3 tablet. Samsung phone connects, iPhone connects, just another nail in the Sonos coffin. So many people know I've got loads of Sonos and ask me what I think, I haven't been able to give a positive review since the "all your kit is going to stop working, stuff you" debacle. No point upgrading bit by bit as any S1 means your stuck on S1 so little chance I'll ever be a future customer. On a positive note BBC Sounds integrates well now.
Honestly despicable the contempt you have for your customers. My speakers used to sound great but I love how they're now just expensive decor because you refuse to fix any bugs with this app and demand we spend more purchasing your new products and app. Why on earth would I do that when it's clear you'll just throw the new stuff under the bus in a few years too? Sort yourselves out and sort this app out.
Not fit for purpose. Regularly loses the wireless network. Extremely frustrating process to reconnect, if you can connect at all. Then the next day it is lost again. Start over. The system is not really useable. The system I have bought has to be junked. Probably the worst product I have ever bought. Shame as when it works, it sounds great. But nowadays that is a rare occurance. As other reviewers have pointed out, one start is too high. DO NOT purchase SONOS. The company evidently has contempt for its customers.
Unreliable. For what the hardware costs, it constantly needs restarts and resetting. The software is clunky. It regularly forgets devices that are powered on and fails to detect them for random amounts of time We've had this system for years, so they got their money - but I'll tell you, this system is a ton of headaches and unreliability. Get google chromecast if you're looking for a total home wifi-bound audio system.
I spent a lot of money on 11 Sonos units in 2018. The following year Sonos declared 2 of my units as legacy items. In order to keep my system running, I'm forced to use Sonos S1 app which is extremely poor. It's clear Sonos are forcing people to replace and upgrade perfectly good units. Profiteering. Shame on you. The S1 app constantly loses rooms and connections, is unstable and unpredictable. 10M installs. Over 70,000 1 star reviews. Many unhappy customers.
sonos keeps asking me to reset each time I want radio on! exceedingly frustrating thinking of ditching sonos for ordinary radios. i have spent literally days trying to reset as it plays up with power cuts etc. it is a time waster!
I don't think this app is good. I use Music Folder Player because I can browse my folders. My files don't have tags, aren't stored by album or artist name and don't even have names recognizable by anyone but me. I don't create play lists either. Further I don't use any streaming service aside from saved utube vids. The wifi thing makes it all more difficult. Then trying a line in via a Bluetooth adapter...I'm still forced to use the app ?? Really really bummed.
Waste of time. I installed this app hoping to control my series one Sonos as I've had nothing but trouble with the series 2 app and system. As soon as you open this app it makes you update to the series 2 app. Waste of time. Do not buy Sonos unless you want regular hours of frustration.
Update: Deleted and re-installed latest version and seems to be much more stable. Dreadful app. Keeps dropping off network and unable to find devices.
Amazingly bad connectivity. Shocking in this day and age when everything is connected that i cant control a simple speaker with my phone. I could buy a $20 bluetooth speaker from walmart that connects better. App requires update but it fails everytime. Tried deleting and reinstalling as new system. Still won't connect. As others have said, ive had my sonos for years and it has sat quiet for most of that time. Disappointing because when it does manage to work the sound quality is good.
Having previously slated the software, whilst there are occasional wobbles during software updates (no worse than a Windows update & better than a Samsung update), in general I have no complaints. I have to remember that the majority of the components are in excess of 11 years old and still working as if they were brand new
Go for Google speakers instead, lower price, more reliable and great sound quality Very poor software. Regularly looses connection, product requiring a reset. Then it doesn't play music as it claims your account is being used some where else. Go for Google speaks, less cost, more reliable and equal sound quality
Awful app. Stuck in a loop where the app says it needs to update. Click ok and the Play store says it's up to date. Don't waste your money on Sonos products. The S1 to S2 upgrade shows how poor legacy system support is
Absolutely useless, typical of Sonos who withdraw support for older products in an attempt to extort further monies from consumers telling them to buy newer models. The worst excesses of commercialism. I'll never buy another Sonus Product!

I have a first generation sonos 5. I can't update it . Some features dont work now and sound quality is poor compared to few years back. I feel sonos try and make us buy new products by running down the software updates. I would avoid
Getting tired of being punished for having an old system! Need to keep my S1 controller as I have 2 play 3s!
Awful software. Would strongly recommend you avoid Sonos with a barge pole. Have had the software for 7 years and have never managed to get it to work properly. Tried with and without a booster. No difference. Hugely expensive system and very disappointing support. Have finally had enough and will be scrapping it and replacing with something more reliable.
When it works, the sound is great, but the connection is horrible. It keeps disconnecting. I can only play 3 songs, and then it disconnects. I spend more time trying to reconnect than listening to my music. It's really frustrating. My friend wanted to buy Sonos speakers and told her not to. I would never get these speakers again; I would rather go with Bluetooth speakers.
Set up S1 & S2 systems as I bought a new Sonos box. Next day S1 just keeps telling me to use S2 & won't let me access my older Sonos boxes so half my music system is now unusable. Tried resetting it all again but nothing. I'm thinking my next solution is to remove the new box & set everything back up on S1 then return the new one....
I have old and new on S1 only. Turn off auto updates. Never update if you don't need to. If it works don't fix it. Turn off 5g on your modem/router. Only use 2.4 bandwidth this made things stable again for me. Update - Alexa voice control of speakers and Spotify losing funtions. Default play speaker and next command not working. Guess new Spotify versions not working with old S1 software anymore. Will eventually not work at all with streaming services. Google voice commands still work.
Software is trash. Barely connects at anytime. Install and reinstalling and doing setup takes hours.
Why do I have to click so much just to access the alarm? The notification stays all day, even when I go out. Tapping on the cross doesn't make it disappear. Is it possible to have a notification 1 hour before the alarm, and when I click on "cancel" the alarm doesn't go off for that day? Edit : nice work adding the alarm icon ! 1 star to go
