ok, the app is great. and I'll gladly give you 5⭐, but there is ONE stupid thing I just don't comprehend: when using the google assistant mode, why is it that the long press touch control just doesn't do anything? Why can't you remap the input to Ambient mode change? (effectively switching the assistant and ambient buttons, not replacing one with the other) PLEASE fix this!

Hello, this is a really good app! I have two points to upgrade: - Display animations more fluently (especially the one with the device and the battery level, and his fading) - Add a specific notification chanel for "Adaptative Sound Control" and permit to change the importance of the notification independently to the others

To device feature is poorly developed, does not really work very well, so don't even bother trying to use it. And don't waste your time calling Sony help, they will tell you the easy answer: it's a hardware problem and to send in the headphones so they can send you a refurbished unit. Who wants a refurbished unit? Especially when it's a software problem. Typical corporate past the buck bologna.

App does what it says it does. My only complaint is that it does not offer all the accessibility for the WH-CH700n but the app functions well and has the ability to change the EQ, so it has helped these headphones become much better and personalized to my tastes. I highly recommend this app to anyone who has Sony headphones to at least see if your headphones have the option to change EQ.

Pros: Works well, no crashes, and does what it says. Cons: The user interface is clunky (too many tabs, selecting EQ presets has this terrible swipe action instead of just a drop down), and the English language translation is extremely confusing - unacceptable for the software included with a $400 pair of headphones. they've had years to get it right and don't seem to care.

Not really convenient application, with a LONG guide of what you HAVE to do to just start listening to music for the first time. Totally breaks the impression of new headphones - if I knew I should spent 30 minutes and make a photo of my ears(!) just to set everything up, I'd rather start without an app, enjoy some sound, and later come to set something. Some of controls are not where you intuitively try to find them. Some are not as advertised. Integration to 3rd party apps worked bad.

Unable to complete the 360 Reality Audio setup - keep getting a 'Failed to connect to server' message every time I try to launch Tidal. Other than that, seems ok although it could do with tweaking - adjusting the 'Clear Bass' setting for example is way more fiddly than it needs to be. Sony - We have phones with large screens these days, there's no need for everything to be so tiny!

I don't usually write interviews so I'll leave this to the experts but the voice recognition could use some work. I prefer to use the noise canceling mode as ambient can get in the way of music or shows and I'll see it randomly change at times when it shouldn't. Otherwise a pretty good app with lots of customization.

It's annoying to use as all of the most used features (ambient sound control for me) are not front and center when you open the app. It also has a pop up about how some pair of headphones I don't own got some update that improved stability or some feature I should try that I don't care about nearly every time you open the app, and you can't dismiss it until it loads. The only thing you can change from the widget is the EQ, which I tend to set and forget.

The app is functioning fine. All settings work as expected. The backup and restore, however, is a disaster. I logged in with the same account on another device and found out the backup was overwritten on the server, which cleared all settings on my first mobile phone automatically. All the history or badges were lost. I am not a fan of the badge features so loss of those badges is not a big deal to me, but such design is absolutely terrible.

The app is good overall. I'm really thankful they don't force you to create an account or anything like that. My one problem is how tap controls are set. They require you to select controls from "groups" of controls, like one group allows you to control ANC/Ambient sound settings, and another let's you control media playback, but you can't mix the two at all. I would really like to choose each tap/hold action's function for a mix of controls with media and ambient sound.

Ambient Sound Mode constantly turns itself back on despite my repeatedly turning it off. I don't want ambient sound to change every time I slightly move. I do not like hearing a "bong" noise every time it decides to change either, interrupting my music (why would anyone like this?). I want it off and to stay off. Other settings also seem to reset at least every time I turn on the headphones and open the app. App allows you to do Bluetooth pairing from it, but that's the only plus.

It would be nice if you could disable the assistant feature. You can but if you have your arm resting behind your head and your skin touches the headphones it still opens. I had to disable all the controls. It would be nice to customize the controls the way you program hotkeys. I can think of specific examples but a general open source platform so everyone can do what they want would be better. Otherwise this would be 5 stars because it is a fantastic product.

speak to chat is the single worst feature of any headphones I've ever had, and it can be turned on easily by wet hair, or any sort of pressure, ect. i have not found a way to get rid of it completely, really its the only issue I've had. other than that, i like the app, the customizability, and the headphones themselves. To clarify, trying to turn it on or off through the headphones is super inconsistent and frustrating. Maybe a solution would be to be able to edit the headphone controls?

UI feels quite cluttered despite not allowing much customizations. How about changing the length of the beep so it doesn't cut off my music for few seconds, or changing default mode or default ambient sound level? Then there are many features that are just gimmicky. Some are utterly dumb - who needs badges for using headphones? Imagine your job is to implement such a useless thing and you are wasting time and energy because some dumb product manager tells you so.

No ability to always turn off ANC, always turns on again when taken out of case, doesn't go well with wind so I always have to turn it off before running. Also, the flashing blue light is annoying (in the dark), flashed quite bright and since it can detect when not in the ear it should only flash after falling/taking it out. WF-1000XM3

the headset is utterly useless without this app. simple things like switching devices isn't available though hardware only. and what's up with the volume control? a thousand hardware swipes to go from low to max volume or just one in the app. and for someone with excruciating tinnitus you can't let me fully and forever disable the noice cancelling?

Very loud and sharp beeping tone randomly plays for a few seconds, happened twice within five minutes. My ears still hurt hours after. Criminally bad, no headphones should hurt your hearing in this way. Volume jumps up a few seconds after starting playback after connecting as well. Completely useless as it harms your hearing, terrible terrible and utter terrible. Avoid if you like your ears. There is no quality assurance. Used with WH-1000XM3.

Restrictive Tap setting, let us customise what single/double/triple tap and hold do for each side the presets are useless and leave half the tap functions unused. It's a really silly limitation and makes it feel like the app is in beta. There is no need for the presets at all, it's very simple when i tap like this, do this. I will happily update my review score to 5 when this fundamental setting is fixed, in its current state it reduces the value of the headphones themselves. I have "Linkbuds S"

really good functions and provides more options for ambient sound and noise cancellation than without it. also provides audio options such as bass boost, treble boost as well as manual changing. there are options for how you want the environment to be i.e. whether it sounds like you are in a club or arena or concert hall. overall just a good app to provide more options than you are given without it

The biggest issue I have is the complete lack of configuration settings for the automatic power off feature. My friend has xm3 headphones and is able to setthe time after which it will turn off afyer being disconnected. The newer XM4s have no such option however, they will supposedly auto turn off after being off head for 15 minutes but this never happens and there is no option to change it, very poor app design choice

This app is amazing in helping you fine tune your headsets to your specific listening needs especially if you love music sounds and you're very good at tweaking your own sound quality. After all you're in control of your listening experience and auto adjust can only help so much, so thank you sony for allowing your users to have full control of their listening experience. And also thank you for making the 360 audio work with Tidal, it's an amazing listening experience. This app is quite amazing.

I'm disappointed with these. No way to permanently turn off noise cancelling. It just turns right back on when you restart the headphones. There is a work around to use the action detection to turn it off everywhere, but when I do that then it will randomly break the headphones. They're on. They're connected. But no sound comes out the earphones until a restart. Having noise cancelling off when you don't need it is the difference between less than a day battery and 2 days.

The app is wonderful and works quite well. Had to do some initial troubleshooting to figure the buds out and how to get the most out of 5.5 hours of bud battery life. The app shows an amazingly accurate battery life. In order to get the best battery life, try to control everything with your phone. The more you tap on each bud, it significantly reduces battery life. If you want to enjoy all the bells and whistles, you're gonna sacrifice battery life. All app functions are amazing!

So many wrong things and missed opportunities: it takes up to 10s to connect to the headphones (WF-1000XM4), even when they're already paired and playing music. It's impossible to define individual touch actions: use the pre-defined ones or go home. Short/lazy UX: let us toggle settings from the Android dropdown menu. E.g. Switch sound control +20 or ANC. At the end of the day, the headphones are highly overpriced software wise. 3/10 would not buy SONY again because lame app.
