When it actually opens and you use wifi it works good. But most of the time when it actually works and you have to use the mobile data it sux. It freezes or the video just doesn't load. Like I said that's when it actually works. Most of the time now the app doesn't even work. After putting login info it shuts-off and disappears like if you closed out a window.

Was great now big issues. Having difficulty with So Player. Hoping this is the route to go with trying to get help. Using an android box (X96 X4 PRO) to be exact. Running Android TV OS version 11 As of Friday 4/1/22 everytime I attempt to use the so player app it crashes. I've cleared the cache, cleared all data, Uninstalled & reinstalled But as soon as it starts up it just crashes again. What to do from here? I had no problems in the past need help ASAP!

Updated review. From 3 to 4 stars. Over time, I have learned some of the issues were on the side of the service provider and not the app. There are still occasional performance issues that the service provider says is an issue with the device/app and I cannot get a response from the developer for possible input / assistance. Still, overall, the experience is decent. I would like a couple of minor functions/features added to make it a 5 star experience.

Started out great. Lots of problems with channels playing, the dvr is a joke. Dvr literally skips through whatever you are watching if you can get it to play what you actually want watch. Soplay Doesn't perform well on my note 10+ now. 1 of my tvs when watching any of the movies you can only hear the music but not the actors talking! Lots of starting and stopping (buffering) on all the channels. It did so well up until now, I was hoping this wouldn't start happening but here we are.

On my tv I use a fire stick and app works well. My phone runs the app fine but stops and starts the video like it's buffering on data or wifi works the same. My biggest issue is the guide. I am Pacific time and the app says Chicago with no clear or apparent way to change it, so the guide is 2 hours off. We really need a preference tab to change the profile information

Why do they do updates and ruin the experience, it is so much more difficult to find anything in the library of TV/Movies. When searching for TV shows, you have to look under the Movie category. Makes no sense at all. You can't see any information about a show or movie unless you click into it; I favorited some shows after searching for them, but once you leave the app and come back, there are no favorites (waste of time). Developers: Please read the reviews and adjust accordingly. I can appreciate this app is "free", and maybe you had your reasons for completely altering the experience (eg lab mice experiment), could you provide an overview of how to use this app efficiently (maybe it makes sense to you)?

New update brings some fixes but still needs a ton of improvement. On android TV, searching is a nightmare. Keyboard remotes still aren't working, scrolling through letters : not efficient, takes too long. You need to make it so that we can type with keyboards. I honestly downloaded it, twice to try the update, and rolled back to the old UI also twice. Sure it looks great (UI needed an update) but it isn't practical. The functions that were there have now disappeared. So we get less in that UI

It doesn't play the movies and TV shows under movies. It's says "No video input or playback error." It has been like that for about 2-3 months. I can't watch anything that's new and when it says (for example) Ironman is on but when you click it, it something showing on that channel. Right now, not happy about it.

Improved only one thing and screwed up other UX experience 1. Before the update you could click on the channel in the EPG and it will go to that channel. 2. Search on the Movies section is a nightmare, right now you can not use your keyboard when you have it installed on your android box. Cannot set spaces either 3. The navigation when you are watching a tv show is gone. No fforward/rewind/skip to the next episode or previous one. Only good thing the buffering of the channels is faster

Most frustrating app ever! Tried repeatedly on an android box. First issue - no keyboard pops up for log in, so for mouse setup it won't let you log in. If you try with the remote, it crashes the app. Finally got to the sign in page, unplugged mouse, and used remote to log in. There is only one channel - The Weather Network. There is no way to choose other channels, there is no other way to flip. There are movies, not sure if they worked. Works ok on chromebook. Can't search by show name.

I love the new look! However its much harder to find your shows now the drop menu was easier. I also would like to see a space bar added to the search. One thing that drove me crazy in the last version was no favoritess area. Now you have added it but can only save one episode. I would like to favorite a whole series to better access it when binge watching.

The new update is horrible! Come on! Streams freeze up all the time. Channel guide is off. Every time you press the guide it reverts back to channel one! Very frustrating. Should have a option to return to classic version. "If it's not broken don't fix it" how about adding a update button for firestick users. Stuck with 2.0.

It was working great until this past week. Have reinstalled several times but crashes anytime I try to open app on my phone. For TV, I get "playback error" when I change to another channel. Could someone tell us what's going on with the SoPlayer app? It's frustrating now...😭

The new UI is simply terrible, the app crashes way more now...and who thinks making an EPG where you always have to start back at channel 1 was a good idea? Add to that that the channel details show what is playing on maybe 5% of the channels. For 95% it just says "No program Data". This is probably the worst app re-write I have ever seen. Please revert this back the the previous version. We have to start allowing 0 star reviews. These devs should be ashamed!

Okay the UI looks great but there's lots of bugs. First of all the EPG isint good. It shows you all the channels and the guide but you can't actually click on the channel and play it. The EPG is basically usless. The movie section also is a mess. Videos aren't playing in the proper size and the ui needs some enhancements because some things look out of place. The TV section seems slower to use and it overall isint what I expected. Guys don't update to the new so player. Wait untill they fix this

First off the Channels starting stopping and starting then the sound had been off sync with the video. Lately many channels not working at all. Now getting an error message saying that this is blocked. Getting absolutely nothing. Subscription to DreamTV.ca renews in December. It says to contact my provider but when I try to get hold of them all contact information is not there not is the website. Anyone else having this problem? Not impressed.

This app was amazing for a long time, but now that it updated a week or so ago it's been constant buffering or video loss all together and as someone else said logos have disappeared for alot of channels also. I have been waiting for it to be corrected but it's getting old quickly. Hoping I don't need to find new service.

Used to be great, the new update completely screwed things up. The TV Section a lot of the logos are gone. Has no info on what is playing like before only until you click into a channel. It stops working when u back out of channels u r watching. Cant get into channels from the EPG Section. This is true for google play store on phone and tablet as well as when loaded onto an Android box for TV, like my shield. Search function on TV boxes is horrible. You had a good thing going now its just bad.

EMBARRASSING, I would n't recommend to a enemy. I have more compassion .The number 2 reason we use it is my wife liked the way the previous channel selection worked. Now it take way to long and extremely inconvenient process of channel search, who ideal was this, (WOW). well at lease you getting feed back. I've already downloaded a new one, FEB is your last month. Was good while it lasted.

I uae this app on my note 8 and its terrible, buffers every 30 seconds then comes back on for another 30 seconds then says no video input, i have plenty of bars on my phone and this app should be running without issues. The Norago was much better.. when it is working the picture is amazing. Needs an overhaul

Aug 2021 - I was really enjoying the app and recent improvements but then something happened with the last update. Please fix the following: EPG, select and view show from grid UI, hit back button on remote and reverts to channel 1 of grid instead of where I left off. This bug is proving to be really annoying.

Literally crashes upon opening ... as soon as I sign in my provided ID and what not it then crashes my android box back to the home screen while trying to load the main menu. This never happened for at least 2 years...perhaps a bad update? I've re-installed 5 times now with no luck at all

The app has been crashing for days. It used to work but no more. Hasn't worked once on my phone or TV. Tried every troubleshooting method. No customer service. Tried emailing the manufacturer listed on Google play store and that email is sent back as undeliverable.

For some reason I can't open the app without it crashing within the first 10 seconds and closing me out of the app. I've tried deleting and reinstalling it and also restarting my phone altogether, still no response 😔. Please help

Recently so players no longer streaming or casting to Chromecast devices. Get audio but no visual and the visual on the device you're casting from freezes and locks up it has never been an issue before I'm guessing since the most recent update you've gone and f***** it up. Start looking into it guys. More specifically it will cast but the menu to change the channel or pause causes it to crash so maybe it's just the overlay issue.

I wouldve given 5 stars if not for the experience i had this weekend. And this is what happened: The service was sketchie for a few days. I emailed CS for help. I was made to feel like it was my fault and my problem for not having a FireStick. The website said it was compatiable with Android. Sunday SoPlayer wouldnt open at all i email again with screenshot of what it was doing. NEVER GOT AN ANSWER! Thanks so much GENZEETV!! You have lost a loyal customer! (just wanted it fixed, not a refund)

We like this app so far. We would appreciate it being more user friendly, had a way for us to manage our UX, or had in-app supporting docs/easy access to FAQs. My main draw back so far is that we can't choose the feed we stream so some of the movies have their own "quirks". Example: Preditor and Cheaper by The Dozen's feeds worked but we couldn't hear the actors speaking - background sounds worked tho. Aquaman had Chinese subtitles. Live TV works great. Lots of Vancouver channels tho.

I love this app. However, My computer is no longer working to it because our account. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. It says maximum amount of devices, but, that's not true because I uninstalled with my phone and it still works from there.

Catchup has not worked for almost a year. All I hear is the problem has been reported. Tried to use the contact developer link but it doesn't work. It used to be good a few years ago when I first got it but it has gone severely downhill.

As of 4/3/22 app just open then close. But before then it work good long as I had good signal which is good 98% of the time. But they need to figure this out cause that 👇🏾 them from a 4 1/2
