I was looking for a player that could access music on a NAS. This app could simply do that. As a player its UI isnt the smartest, the playlist setup is a little clumsy not very intuitive, however it does the job. The free version is limited to 400 songs and i would have rated it a fair 4 stars. I in-app purchased the premium version, and the app does not update. The limits still apply and it throws up error messages despite indicating premium version. It appears incompatable with current android
This is five stars because it is fantastic functionality to have in my devices, even if not perfect. In combination with my chromecast audio I have a fabulous networked music system I can run off whichever device I happen to be using at the time. I have a problem with rescanning of a large library seeming to stall, or otherwise going slow. The problem may relate to Android 9 powersaving features but not sure yet. A related gripe is library scanning is slow compared to Samba music player.
The app works great... but, Making a playlist is no fun... it would be nuce if there was an option to ad complete folders to a playlist... I might have missed it but now I had to add 3500 songs by hand.... after that it play's perfect from my NAS but it was a lot of work.... If there is already a option to add complete folders to an playlist plese make it easy to use en to find... If that's done it will a 5 star rating.
Would be nice to go into app by clicking somewhere on the widget. Probably best customized player for network source for UI & function. Loads up data to avoid pauses & buffering. Bought this premium. Add WDMYCLOUD as LAN source, instead okay IP number which can change. Much Slower than samba music player while scanning. Not updated since 2016. Took 12 hours to scan. Also bought JetAudio (free or +) for use on networks too but jetaudio has pauses & buffers.
it seems to be a player that is able to live up to itvs claim, but it doesn't seem to support sftp connection with key authentication.... I'm stuck with Filemanagee + that allows key authentication, but the media player doesn't support recursive folders or even does a good job at listing/playing back if theres more then a few hundred files. could it be possible to implement key authentication? after more testing I found out that this client is using the older version of ssh... not very good
In library folder you cannot click on song option as scrollbar appear. Cannot use previous/next song hardware buttons. This is needed for car android devices in order to use wheel control buttons. Will be great if you have option to delete songs remotelly in order to keep your library as you wish. In general si good and the only application of this kind out there. Please go for further updates!
Doesn't play anything. All scanned folders it says 'No music file found', however it scanned over 8000 files and they all show up. When trying to play individual files, it says 'file not found in database'. Samba Player scanned and played instantly. Uninstalled.
Finally one to play songs off a server. Only thing is that it doesn't recognize Chinese characters, (though it does in the explorer). If you could fix this encoding issue, that'd be a 5 stars.
I' could give 6 stars if I could control it from my wireless headset or from my car bluetooth system. I don't know why this capability was not provided or missed out?. For the rest, it is probably the best app to play NAS/SAMBA files.
An unpolished, buggy product. I've tested it with Samba shares, and it works sufficiently well, but given the (long standing) bugs, there are better alternatives (I've moved to ArmAmp, which has a more polished UI).
Works great except that creating playlists is a lot of work. Can you please add a feature to export/import playlists in some format like text, json, xml, yaml something that can be manually edited and imported? That would make creating playlists as well as transferring them to another device a lot easier.
Lots of issues. Can't play a folder. Keeps requiring a library to be added. Can't select all files in a folder at once. Not worth installing.
DONT BUY THIS!!! I bought this app, pay for the full version but the up REFUSES to upgrade and I just can use the free version even when I paided for the full one. I contacted the developer and got NO SINGLE ANSWER, not a mail, not a solution, NOT A SINGLE CHARACTER as an answer. Its a fraud. DO NOT PAY FOR IT!!!!
Been a great app since Nov '16 just needs an update to work with Android 12, worked great on Android 11 but alot of things are broken in Android 12
Seems to work really well, intuitive interface, easy set up of network drives etc. Impressed with this app.
Constantly duplicates songs located in 1 folder.. no way to simply search for new files due to the only option being "auto scan in hour intervals"
Bought it and can't activate premium, it just says Buy premium in menu and gives me an error telling me I've already purchased it... Can't find the premium app or activator... Hmmm
ui is a bit dated and scanning files sometimes bugs out but perfect for streaming my music library and caching albums
Why does a music player need access to your contacts? And why does it refuse to work if you deny access? Shady garbage.
Waits until you set it up to inform you the free version is limited to 400 songs. Takes forever to scan. Uninstalling.
The only android app that allow you to play audio from your NAS/samba with complete music player functions.
Crashes on Android R (11) Also, SFTP stopped working: Unable to negociate: no matching key exchange method found
Real nice app. Works perfect. Only thing missing is .opus .ogg support
Poor crashes and not compatible with latest Android version
Poor! this app can not find my server shared folder even with the paths typed in
This is the only, and I mean only, media player that successfully uses the networking features claimed. Making playlists is a pain, managing playlists worse, I think the makers have abandoned further development/updating for 3 or more years now, and periodically, the next song played will play with no volume (you have to pause/unpause). Yea, I know it doesn't sound like a winner, however, the remaining features work fine and because of the networking functionality, it's my main player. If anybody else does that successfully, I'd switch.
