Used to work on my old Galaxy S7, now with my S8 Active it says "unable to gain control of Sound Blaster E5". Still works for my wife's iPhone too, and my phone works with all other apps, so must be a software issue for this app or the services app. Judging by other users' comments it's a long running issue that Creative Labs hasn't bothered to fix. I've been buying Sound Blaster products for a long time now, since my 266MHz computer back in the days. This will be my last Sound Blaster product.
Everything was going okay until the last Android update. Not sure exactly what happened but now my app says it cannot connect to my phone via Bluetooth. I've tried everything that I can think of including clearing my cache and going into the Bluetooth settings on my Note 8 and the app itself. Now I can't use the app at all and so my E5 is now just an amplifier like many others I already have.
Not so much about this app. Bought a creative soundblaster e5 around 1 year ago and whilst the device is wonderful when it works, I have been having battery issues the last few weeks. It can't hold a charge, when not used for a few days it doesn't want to charge or power up. So I would love to use this app, but can't get the device to turn on!
Unsafe app volume control. I intended to reduce volume a bit. But it blasted my ears with full volume when I pressed volume down button on my phone. This is ill coordinated volume control. Make sure you set the volume first before wearing earphones and do not touch android volume buttons because they behave unexpectedly and unsafe. The app creators should have prioritized user safety first.
3 stars until they add the ability to disable the Optical Line-In so my device has a fighting chance to last half the listed discharge time. Would be great if my E5 wasnt Garbage. Battery wasnt charging or turning on before even 1 full year of ownership. 5 stars if the build quality has improved for the Hardware this application serves.
This app depends on Sound Blaster Services. I ran out of room to on review over there. This app failed to start, after services auto updated to ver 1.00.18 under Android 9. My fix: Restart phone between each step - remove both SB apps. - install this app alone - start it - let this app install SB services - turn on all permissions both apps. 2 hours into this, now working. The " 'what's new' crashes " comment put up by the dev. was not helpful. Hope these posts were, no thanks to Creative.
The app works fine and I am super happy with the Sound Blaster E5 headphone amp/dac. This app however does not scale properly on my 21:9 phone. I have to keep the phone in landscape mode to see all the settings. If that had been fixed, more stars in the review
Works okay. Keeps setting the volume to max when changing the mixer settings. Or when changing vol on my phone after changing settings in app. Slow to recognize and give options to others functions as it got stuck on the bluetooth connect screen.
Using Sound Blaster E5, everything works, aptX is great, latency is great, app works OK but the built in mic never works during phone calls. I must often factory reset the device to get things to work properly with the app.
Excellent, it works flawlessly. No issues, problems nor lag with this app. Just connect to your device or headphones, set it up to your liking & enjoy the power of the endless possibilities.
Fails to even see the device (but somehow still can change one solitary setting on it): Sound Blaster E5. Pointless in it's current state. used to work. hogs the phone battery
There is a problem with my creative sound blaster sb0490, if i connect it to my phone and battery is below 65% it connects to phone but mute. If battery is full, works good, but volume buttons not working and if i mute it from sound card it becomes mute. But stuck. Cant unmute. Must disconnect and reconnect..
Good app, lots of cool features - This thing really is the swiss army knife of headphone amps. Broke last update and kept crashing, but a reinstall, as other reviewers mentioned, fixed it.
Excellent for the free equalizer But do we really need another app for a device that's already working with bluetooth? Creative does make excellent products at great prices. I have been very happy with everything purchased . More than I can say for Hifiman!
OMG Please make this work on my phone without having to go to my PC to adjust the settings on my headphones everytime I change devices (from PC gaming, teleconference calls, and simply listening to music).
No longer works, crashes on open even after reinstall and clearing storage. Now I can't change settings on my headphones anymore, cool.
Doesn't work anymore, app won't start on a MixFold. Hasn't been updated for almost 2 years... not gonna buy any Soundblaster anymore
Recently my app is not showing any sound adjustment settings. Only bluetooth and settings icons are coming in app. Earlier it was working fine. Please fix this issue
Useless app! It crashes after second use of the app and won't open again unless uninstall_ reinstall! Sent bug report few times but received no response!
Now it's working but my headset holder is broken..I like the headset so much with a lot of option to connect and the quality of sound compared to other brands now a days but it's too expensive to have another one..
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I Love it. I can control my SBlaster e5 and use it to boost volume to different profiles for my Creative Stage Soundbar, my SUV & my Creative SX-FI Air headphones. I like the different sound options, graphic equaliser and hall etc effects. I've been buying Creative Labs products since the very 1st SoundBlaster Pc Sound Card they released and bought back in 1990. I give it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I too am having the same issue it no longer is working since the latest Android update 10, I know the product itself is no longer made, but it would be nice to have the app working again at least please
Does it support Creative Sound Blaster Roar2 ? Actually I have installed this app on my mobile. It does connect with my Creative Sound Blaster Roar2, but I can not able to control the music.
Getting an error after connecting via bluetooth that unable to control device and I'm no longer able to access the menu controls
the app connects to my SB EVO headset but I cannot control them via the app. Totally useless app!

Recently stopped working on my phone. It doesn't start and stays stuck in the background... I am using Android 10 on OnePlus 6. Was otherwise working ok until now! Beside some instabilities issues that I was working around most times. NB: I did re-install it and cleaned all stored data prior. [Update] After de-installing SB services and re-install, the app reworked. Still a bit clunky, but it works!
