Sound Devices Wingman
The touchscreen interface is easy to use and provides fast remote-control access to key 6-Series and MixPre Series functionality. With Wingman, users can view meters, start and stop audio recordings, enter and edit metadata, as well as arm/disarm, and rename tracks.
Additionally on the 6-Series, Circle a take or designate False takes with the touch of a fingertip. Create sound reports quickly, and instantly email them directly from your Android smartphone or tablet.
The Sound Devices WM-Connect hardware accessory is required to operate the 6-Series mixer/recorders with the Wingman app. This accessory is not required for the MixPre Series which have built-in Bluetooth LE. WM-Connect can be purchased separately from an authorized Sound Devices reseller:

Held back one star due to the fact that you can only edit metadata from the app. U can't use your phone's keyboard to name projects or takes, which would be an amazingly useful feature set & eliminate the need to plug in an external keyboard. I assume their aim was increased security. However, security can be ensured by requiring a pw, which Sound Devices implemented already. Pls add this functionality. It would be nice to modify levels, select playback tracks, & deep menu control from the app.
Update: still haven't fixed the app crashing when putting a long amount of notes in the 633. -- Love this app so much. Very easy to use. Would love if they let me put longer text in the notes section without it crashing. Also I can't read any notes past the width of my screen.
Great app. Doesnt like Android 9? App launches, tries to connect via Bluetooth and after connecting to MixPre 10t...app immediately crashes and exits. Worked very well on an older phone. Using a Moto G7 currently
Does not bluetooth with a 2019 Samsung Chromebook. Just hangs up and spins. All other Android Apps I have used with this Chromebook work fine.
Is very convenient for file naming and to make a note against the track but we would love to have gain control feature in it in next update.
Love it. On android the notes cannot be inputted after abiut 20 mins off rolling on a long interview. Hopefully that csn be looked at.
Hi, love the app - could we have an update so a full screen with just timecode can be available - say if we double tap the timecode ? Its very useful for non timecode cams such as go pros etc
Wish it was a complete replacement for the touch screen on the mixer so I could leave the mixer stationary.
It works as expected, my Pixel phone and iPad mini 2 don't have any issues with my MixPre 6.
Very happy as the Android user for the consideration and easy to use , kudos to Sound Devices💪💪💪
Can't use Mixpre 10T mark 1 in firmware v7.1 and v7.11 solve the problem, need open android phone location function
how do i get this app to be real useful? adjust gain levels and change names does not work with my mixpre 6.
When it works it's great. At this time it only crashes.
Please add a virtual keyboard to allow us to change names and write notes without the meed to use the knob!!!!!!!!! Please!!

Incredibly buggy on multiple devices. The main point of it is note taking and it rarely saves the notes, instead bouncing back to the main screen when you try to save the note, therefore erasing it. If you're lucky enough to get a note saved, you'll never be able to edit it. Hey at least in the updates you're now forced to turn on location services, something i don't want and never needed before.

Awesome that Sound Devices finally released it for Android, for which I am really grateful. Though the app does not deserve the stars it has here. It is very cumbersome to use, has some bugs, the UI is cluttered and unresponsive and overall very weird. Sometimes it won't connect or find the device, until the second try. I'm happy it exists, but wouldn't call it a quality app.
Works great on my Google Pixel Android device! I just wish I could also adjust the levels from the app and a low battery meter for the Mixpre6 via the Wingman app would be awesome! Overall 5 stars for being on Android based phones and working great without basically any latency at all unless you're too far away 😎
So awesome that it's on Android now. Way to go S.D.! Two things would be great to add... 1) Ability to adjust levels using app and 2) When Mixpre gives warning that battery is low, it should prompt this app too and vibrate phone and notify the user.
It did not work on my Moto Z2 Play. It did work very well on a coworkers iPhone. Would rate a 5 if it ever is updated to include my Moto Z
The app was great but my problem was my phone was a bit to slow to handle the application.

Awesome! Finally on android
Works with mixpre 3 II firmware 6.00 and above. But it doesn't work when you don't allow location information. It will just not connect to the device. Functionality needs to improve and be able to change settings from the phone instead of a tiny screen. When you do allow location tracking and connect, yeah you can see some meters and that's it. Uninstalled directly after renting a mixpre. Will not be using it again.
